Cool, how do you like it there? Like it there more or in California?

Well not much really...when I lived in CA it was a magical time in my life (1988) and things were pretty awesome. Things have not been the same since my mom passed away in 2006...this is big house so I stay on to help my dad with things around here.

Well the den and sun room were added in 1987 but the house itself was built in 1950. We spent most of our time back here in the den...has every thing we need. :)

Jeez, the forum was a hive of activity and I wasn't here. If I was a conspiracy theorist I could make something of that (you bastards!) but hey, I won't.

I'm not going back to find the post that mentioned Julee Cruise, I think it was cuckoo, but I have the Julee album that the Twin Peaks tracks were released on, it maybe has the missing ones and if you ask nicely I'll give them to you. :) (Threats will also get the same result. Or naked pictures of Sherilyn Fenn.)

Also Zoran (you got your name change I see) I have Fire Walk With Me if you are interested. Seems like everytime I post something here it has a Lynch connection. That's a good thing for me. Not for everyone else I guess.

LYNCH. LYNCH. LYNCH. LYNCH. LYNCH. LYNCH. Hell yeah!

EDIT: here's the J.C track list.

01 - Floating
02 - Falling
03 - I Remember
04 - Rockin Back Inside My Heart
05 - Mysteries Of Love
06 - Into The Night
07 - I Float Alone
08 - The Nightingale
09 - The Swan
10 - The World Spins

the tracks that were used on the show, but didn't appear on the soundtrack album, were "Rockin' Back Inside My Heart" and "The World Spins"......they're from Cruise's 1st Lynch/Badalamenti album "Floating Into The Night".....she did a 2nd collab album with the two called "The Voice Of Love" which features some vocal versions of tracks from Wild At Heart and Fire Walk With Me.

We're the new Lynch Mob thread ;)

It's Floating Into The Night that I have. I thought you were missing tracks, I must have read it wrong, or wrongly read it, or readly wronged it, or some shit. I wasn't aware of the second one, but I am now. :)

Hey, how do I post a link and change the text? Say I wanted to link to a rapidsnare page but wanted the hyperlink to read "click here if you like dwarves" or something?

yeah...i was saying I made an expanded Twin Peaks soundtrack using those two songs.....i also expanded upon Fire Walk With Me using several tracks on the Season Two soundtrack that appeared in the film, but have never been able to find "Requiem In C Minor" by Luigi Cherubini to complete it.

Hey, how do I post a link and change the text? Say I wanted to link to a rapidsnare page but wanted the hyperlink to read "click here if you like dwarves" or something?
i have no idea....i've tried myself on a few occasions.....i think it's something fairly easy....i'm just savvy enough with my internets and forum posting.

...and "The Lynch Mob".....yeah...budarc & I toyed with the idea awhile back with creating a blog called that....it was either going to be that or a play with the "There's always music in the air" thing....y'now : "She's filled with secrets. Where we're from, the birds sing a pretty song and there's always music in the air."

i think i found this one too awhile ago.....i just didn't take it because of the 128kbps.....although, now that Zoran's introduced us to the MP3gain thing, i might just sacrifice the clear sound and just go with a higher volume.

It was used for the scene where Laura's killed.

Agreed. The imagery is so overwhelming, I gotta say I never noticed that music before.
Not sure if I've posted this before, it's a little porcelain doll wrapped in plastic.

Don't know where you buy them, you could make your own with an asexual Barbie if you like, if you happen to have a Barbie collection, or a little sister that has. Or you could do a Leia in plastic, and set her beside Han in carbonite. The possibilities are endless.

Fixed this.

So SPidey 4 is lost in limbo.

No casting choices, no villians, no script.

all that we've heard so far is complete bullshit.

the only problem....there may not be a Raimi/Maguire Spidey film now. It seems there's a lot of problems getting this film off the ground.

So Columbia/Sony have said, no matter what there still will be a Spidey movie released in 2011.....they just don't what it is yet or who's involved.

sexy.

rick_says
01-06-2010, 07:25 AM
Sony owns the rights to spiderman in movie form only as long as they keep making them.
They would not want these rights to revert to disney, so they will want to make a film regardless if Raimi is involved. Raimi (I guess) has wanted vulture as the main antagonist with some vulturetta female character. So Raimi (I guess) has casting choices of Malcovitch and princess diaries Hathoway. Raimi is slated to make a WoW game adaptation at some point, so there's that too. Raimi has not said anything about bailing from spidey but people are already starting to speculate. A new script has been mentioned, what this could entail is anyone's guess.

cuckoo77
01-06-2010, 07:48 AM
Raimi hasn't bailed, he's just not agreeing with Sony/Columbia with what he wants in the film. Which leads me to think Sony could eventually just say "fine...we don't need Raimi....we can do it on our own". Really? I don't think it would make much of a difference. While the other 3 Spidey films did have elements of Raimi in them, they were far from anything I liked him for in the first place.......and with that, I'm waiting on a dl of Drag Me To Hell.......now that's more of the Raimi I enjoy.

The delay in the release date is official as well as the rewrite:
"Gary Ross, David Lindsay-Abaire and James Vanderbilt previously wrote drafts of the screenplay, and Veriety says that Alvin Sargent is now "retooling the story." Sargent worked on the scripts for both the second and third Spidey movies."
Other than that, it's hearsay and speculation. My opinion is that Raimi would be better off doing other things, but for him it probably isn't easy turning away from the hefty paycheck. Without Raimi though we might lose Tobey. A new director and peter parker would be a total reboot. It would be interesting, but in all likelihood suck.
I'd rather see Raimi doing other things myself then stuck in spiderhell forever.

cuckoo77
01-06-2010, 06:59 PM
Amen to that.
Raimi should leave the franchise now, while it's not a complete loss. Spidey 3 had many flaws, but it still had a redeeming quality here and there.....he should be happy with that and hightail it outta there while he atleast has the Spidey Fanboys rooting for him.
I really want to see Raimi tackle some more American Gothic films, like THe Gift and A Simple Plan.....those were great and i would love to see more.

cuckoo what did you use to overlay the music and dialogue on the waldo track? Was it freeware, and if it was would you tell me what its called? If it was paid for, it doesn't matter. I've tight pockets. I'll give a sexy picture of mr bungle in return.

cuckoo77
01-06-2010, 09:56 PM
hmm...i did a few things to that track, but the main thing was the audio rip over the original music.

The first thing I did was took a 20 second clip of the ambient wind sound Lynch uses all the time and looped it several times, using "Audacity" (which is free http://audacity.sourceforge.net/ ) and overlapped it using the fade in and out.....so it sounds like a constant wind and not looped.
THen i ripped the audio of Cooper and the tape recording, straight from the TV show using "Wavepad Sound Editor ( http://download.cnet.com/WavePad-Sound-Editor/3000-2170_4-10276212.html )"...using the same program, i broke the file apart and separately edited the Cooper voice and the Waldo voice. Cooper I just added a little reverb, but with Waldo I threw in some reverb and some delay.

I then layeredd the voices on top of the ambient wind FX using "Audacity" again, by doing a quick 3 second fade in and out, the voice track doesn't sound so chopped in, but rather flows in quite nicely.

Now, Audacity allows you to save in MP3, but it's only 128kbps.....so what i do, is save it as a FLAC file and recode with Wavepad as 320kbps MP3 and that seems to work just fine.

hope that helps :)

I didn't realise you'd went to such lengths. Well done. I've had audicity before, never got to grips with it, I was more used to acid but it's lost now. I've just discovered I've got Nero SoundTrax (part of the burning software), I've never meddled with it before so I'm going to give it a go. I have to get the audio ripped form dvd first.

Thanks.

Don't fret man, something similar happened to me last month. My computer was off for about two days and when I booted up I got the message "F:\Drive is not formated. Would you like to format it now?" I used my usual tricks but the HD could not be seen by any master drive anymore. At first I freaked out and was dreading to do a list of what I lost when I remembered I had Ontrack Data Recovery in my software arsenal. I am familliar with the XP glitch that loops you around and around. Do you have another HD? If you do you can set the jumper to the master position on your extra HD and set the jumper to slave position on your screwed up HD. For what I suggest to work you have to have Windows XP on the other drive. If you have Linux or something on the other HD I am not sure it will work but I am certain an earlier Windows OS like Win 2000 will not work.

I guess that pic is only funny in Vancouver.

For some stupid reason, they've decided the Vancouver 2010 Olympics needed cutesy mascots to sell stuffed animals and T-shirts......I don't remember any other Olympics having inane cartoon mascots.

Are these guys only known in Vancouver? good god, i hope so.

Dr Faustus
01-07-2010, 11:54 PM
http://img32.imageshack.us/img32/9103/rofldata.gif I've never saw them before. The little spud with the orange hat looks like he's related to mr potato head. Japan had an anime ambassador once. It didn't work out how they planned it.

It's the coldest night of the year in my crappy little country, so claim the MET office. There's and inch of snow outside.
You know that old joke about the guy who was so ugly he could shave his arse and walk backwards and no one would notice? I'm thinking of trying that out one these days. But not while there is snow, it would be less than flattering.

cuckoo77
01-08-2010, 12:01 AM
I bet you bought one of those crazy t-shirts, didn't ya?

I couldn't afford one of those shirts even if i wanted to......the Olympics are sucking us dry........transit passes have gone up for the month......what would usually cost me $45 costs me $115 next month.
rent has been hiked up to ridiculous prices everywhere.
It's not a good place to be.

Fuck you 2010 Olympics.
it's insanity.

i would buy a shirt that had those guys with Pedo Bear in it though.

Dr Faustus
01-08-2010, 12:05 AM
That's criminal. Thay should be tried and hanged for price increases that crazy. London is having olympics too, in 2012, here's the logo.

fuck....your's makes ours look the Mona Lisa

our olympic torch looks like a giant joint

and the medals look like potato chip munchies you eat after the joint

which some people are beginning to believe the designers did as a joke, which somehow got past the head honchos, because B.C. weed is known to be some of the best in the world.

Dr Faustus
01-08-2010, 12:13 AM
Your logo isn't that bad. Found this with regards that crap that passes as mine:

Should you be wondering what the logo is all about, apparently the design brief was for "an emblem that represented the four key 'brand pillars' of access, participation, stimulation and inspiration, culminating in the brand vision of 'Everyones Games'.

Yeah, fuck off!
And apparently the logo cost 400,000. I don't what that is in your $ but it's more than a monkey needs to draw four pink squiggles.

---------------------

What the hell is wrong with those medals? They're all fucked up, bent and shit. If I ran my little socks off and someone gave that bent piece of crap I'd place it somewhere impractical. I'd prefer the real potato chip munchies.

"Insane" is being too polite. They bought up peoples houses and knocked them down too. Becuase they weren't in keeping with the aesthetic of the new arena's that MUST be built. I'm glad I live on Faustus island, I won't see any of it.

yeah....they took areas of what could have been homeless shelters (Vancouver has one of the world's worst homeless problems for a "First World" country) and built new condos and shit for the athletes and "guests" to stay in for the three weeks that they'll be here.

what are they gonna do? give these new condos to the homeless after......for some reason I highly doubt it.

Dr Faustus
01-08-2010, 11:18 PM
There's weird, and there's WEIRD, and I'm not that weird. I'll stick with the pastry. I even got the recipe.

Snickerdoodle Cookie Recipe Ingredients

• 1/2 cup butter, softened
• 1 cup sugar
• 1/4 teaspoon baking soda
• 1/4 teaspoon cream of tartar
• 1 large egg
• 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
• 4 Tablespoons granulated sugar
• 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. In a mixing bowl, beat the butter on medium speed for 30 seconds. Add the 1 cup sugar, baking soda, and cream of tartar. Beat until combined, scraping sides of bowl occasionally. Beat in the egg and vanilla until well blended. Beat in as much flour as you can with the mixer, and stir in remaining flour.

Cover with plastic wrap and chill for 1 hour.
Combine the 4 tablespoons sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoons cinnamon. Shape the dough into 1 inch balls and roll in cinnamon sugar mixture to coat.

Place balls of dough 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet.
Bake for 10 to 11 minutes or until edges are beautifully golden.
Transfer cookies to a wire rack to cool.

Share some with your friends and bring a smile into their day! :)
