Two Steps From Hell's Archangel was not as great as their previous (private) albums.
Their first public album is the best.

Lately TSFH has okay "EPIC" music.
Nero, Archangel and a few others were a bit underpar.

I love Kilar. Wish he had more complete scores in High Def.

Dracula has a really nice chase sequence that's not on the soundtrack.
The isolated score on The Ninth Gate is lossy. And overwhelmingly low in volume.

Childhood's end is probably the 2nd best thing on it. Yup.

I rushed out on day of release and bought it on extra thick double vinyl. :mad: Was disappointed when I heard it.

Saw them on the tour for that album. And No prayer tour, too.

I'm listening to it on the official website. A lot of piano work in it.
Some strong ambiance floating about to keep pace with the myriad of soft, echoing mechanical sounds incorporated into the score.
The piano more or less has a very somber vibrancy that resonates through the ambiance and strings.
Some really nice starts to some tracks. Gives off that staggering feeling you get in dreams where you run in slow motion and never make it in time to save someone in distress. Like the world is a blur except for your pain.

I like it.

If the new Arrested Development series (distributed through Netflix) takes off, it makes me wonder if other shows with struggling network support will be able to continue on if they really want. if they are zip, rar or 7z files, you just need to open the first one with Winrar (I guess that's what you use), and you should be able to extract it all. if it is a .avi.001 file (for example), you'll need Hjsplit. can't help you there. never used HJsplit.

See, I got the subs named the same as the movie, with their correct extensions. All I wanted was to burn it to dvd. I thought, should be able to just burn the whole folder, thus hard embedding the subs? But I checked to be sure. (last dvd for now). Google said no, no. You need this program to convert to this medium, so that this program can export it back to......sigh. After downloading 3 different programs and 3 hours of fucking with it, I decided to give my original idea a try, to burn the folder that had the movie and subs. Annd,it worked perfectly.

HOLY MOTHERFUCKING GOD THIS STUFF HURTS MY HEAD. I mean if it is an easy simple step, can't anyone just say it's an easy, simple step.

Usually burning the whole folder to disc with the subtitles separated works if the playback device can read from subtitles that are separated.
I haven't checked if my dvd player can read external subtitles. Would be nice if it can, then I can finally watch Downfall.

Yeah, I don't think I'm going to watch Thursday nights live anymore, barring a final live 30 Rock episode. Haven't liked The Office in years and Up All Night isn't really my thing.


The laugh track...... dear god...

Laugh tracks are the worst. THE WORST. A laugh track show has to be so much better than a laugh track free show for me to enjoy watching it. Usually, when I do watch shows with laugh tracks I wind up only watching them sporadically, because the bad episodes are so painful. Weaker episode of single-cam, laugh track free comedy is no big deal.

Waiting for audience reactions takes so much time too. ; ; I like my comedies to be rapidfire.

Are you jaundiced? That'd probably be the biggest sign there's an issue, barring an inflammed/swollen liver.

I have some eating disorder related organ damage, and I am pretty healthy these days, save for regular doctor's visits. :) I've made a pretty steady recovery over the last 9 or so years. As long as any damage done isn't too severe, your body can repair itself, even if it takes a while. Hopefully whatever issues you might have are caught soon and can be dealt with.

It wasn't the direction that was the problem for me. There was nothing beneath the surface of the visuals. The community was two dimensional. The naivety of the Christians was much too blatant. They deserved to be duped.

I don't think you can.

If it's Soft-coded subs I can't load it to a flash drive and stick it in my TV, so I usually just play it straight off the computer and connect it to the TV.

If you can't do that, then you're just going to have watch it straight on the computer screen.

To burn the subtitles, you need to convert the movie to DVD format.

You can set the option to "forced" so they're always on.
or
You can set the option to "hardcoded" so the subtitles are imprinted into the video.

I don't think this can be altered without informing the developer that we are working with pirated content that we don't actually own ourselves on DVD or BD.
Our initial testaments would prove useless to the developer as the casual response from any developer is that we should just make another rip from the original DVD that we should own.
In such case, we don't.
Therefor, the only means we have is to burn the two files as two separate titles (even though both files are of the same title)...

I like it. Looks pretty fiercesome imo. I would have preferred the Luchador mask, but I don't even know Bane's country of origin in this version.

I think they are just trying too hard to avoid any Batman and Robin comparison.

To burn the subtitles, you need to convert the movie to DVD format.

Okay, that's not entirely true.

DVD format is not the only format.
But considering that Amanda wants it burned to disc, DVD format is the foreseeable format.

However, if we were to venture this outside the MPEG-2 nomenclatures, we can easily recognize the superior efficiency of h264 and reach a medium ground of either the AVI container or the MKV container.

While AVI is very universal, one would remember the great strides that MKV has made in recent years, especially considering the frequent updates by Matroska tools as MKVtoolnix and Haali Matroska Splitter.

I'd go with h264 inside an MKV file, it has a better playback capability of embedded subtitles (although not hardcoded, but yet not entirely separate files).
Rather the subtitle file is contained inside the MKV file so you never have to lose it nor have more than one file in the folder, which keeps it cosmetically neat and clean. Whereas the AVI file, must have an external subtitle if not hardcoded.

Moving on, in order to make the subtitle hardcoded from "softcoded" (which is really a separate subtitle file from the container file holding the audio+video streams / or at the very least, an embedded subtitle file), you have to re-encode the entire video with the subtitle hardcoded.

This will, in fact, lose some quality, but for the comfort of hardcoded subtitles, this is a reasonable compromise.

To achieve this, there are multiple programs that can do this for you. Whether the interface is comfortable enough or detailed enough, that's another story.
I prefer more details to simplicity as less options can lead to more details being neglected and more visible during playback.

Now, I'm really only going to list the top programs I've used and/or still use.
The rest of the list will be stuff I "looked" at, feel free to try them out, but don't quote me on anything.

They should all do the job, you really just need to re-convert the video and make sure the subtitles are "hardcoded" to the video.
Make sure to not put too much details in maintaining original quality as you can't gain anymore than what you started with and not neglect too much details that you end up losing more "visual" quality that you're just better off watching the original files and using your media player to enable subtitles.
