I love watching expanded composer interviews. There's very few of them.

Elfman has a few older ones but not as many recent ones.

The DVD in the Burton/Elfman box set makes up for that. :)

Beltrami has a few good ones for 3:10 To Yuma, The 3 Burials of Melaquidas Estrada and The Hurt Locker.

I've seen a few Zimmer ones. He tends to talk out of his ass too often.

He's got some really cool techniques though.

3 - I'm always adding subtracting to the lists and I don't want to waste ink every time on it
4 - It's just easier to keep it written on notebook paper. It's thinner than computer paper and fits better in my list wallet.

It only cramped my hand because I have a very bad habit of holding pens to hard while I write :sad: For my entire life I've always held them too hard. I can't figure out how to make myself stop. And I write too fast........ :sad:

i think a score is fun to nut if you treat it like any other album. just my personal opinion.

last night was the first time i'd listened to any scores at all in nearly a month

i go through phases where all i listen to is scores,

I noticed the "cancelled" tag on your latest Box. Is that only for series cancelled midseason? Or does it also include series that finished the season before being cancelled?

My next non-anime series was cancelled too. I think it only made 8 episodes so it was canned before the end of a season. The one I have lined up after my next series was also cancelled so I thought it'd be fun to make a tag for them. BoP made it to the end of S1 so it can apply to either. Use it freely. It can apply to anything that got the chop before it was supposed to.

It's analogue VS. digital.
Digital is very linear whereas analogue you have to find the proper playback time-synch.
It also has a deeper bit depth, usually 24 when transferred to digital.
Bigger frequency range, not that that part really matters to human ears :laugh:
Editing-wise and sound-system setup, definitely.
The right cords at the right gauge and you don't lose a single iota of data.

I want to get a record player and start getting soundtracks in vinyl.

and cds get scratched just as goddamn easily, plus cds get a bad enough scratch, they just won't even play right. a record gets a minor scratch and it's not the end of the world.

their albums suffered on cd. the original cd versions were thin and tepid. the 90's remasters were an improvement but still couldn't hold a candle to vinyl versions.

i haven't heard the more recent remasters so i dunno if they've improved.

revolver (beatles) is another one where i hardly ever touch the cd version.

well when bands like NIN and radiohead have gone the indie route and self released albums where the consumers could pay what they wanted, they wound up being massively successful records.

back in the days of napster, i couldn't even give 2 shits about downloading metallica or madonna. i usually went for obscure shit, or stuff i'd heard about but never had the chance to listen to because it wasn't getting any more radio or tv exposure. if i liked something, then 9 time out of 10, i would eventually buy it. it's how i got into CAN and king crimson. none of the classic rock radio stations fucking played it..i never would've heard of them or bought them without so-called piracy

People need to do it the Joy Division way and put the money up themselves and buy some studio time. Or fuck it, do it in your garage. If it's good, it'll sell. I still listen to demos I got from guys for free during the tape trading days. Stuff recorded in their bedroom. I transferred some to mp3.

with recording technology and software nowadays, you can record anything at home for relatively little money. it can be done (with the proper know-how) at a level that is nearly on par with studio-produced music. if you like the rougher garage sound, then there's always 4 track. shit, you can even piddle with your digitally recorded shite to give it a rougher sound. point is, studios probably won't die completely, but it can be done without them.

record labels, then, serve little other purpose than as a marketing tool. and even then, with youtube and the web in general, it's become much easier to self promote.

Didn't do shit with it. My best friend bought a 4 track and put it in his shed. He made demos that sounded like nothing else. Think Hawkwind mixed with Mayhem. Amazing stuff.

and there's no reason to stop buying a band's music when they're with a major label. you want to support the band and not the label, then you go to the band's website and order cds directly from their site. granted, the bands have to purchase their own albums from the label to distribute on their site, but when you do it that way, more of the money goes in the band's pocket. i'm all for artists making plenty of money on their music, it's when i see them getting screwed by labels that i want to pirate music more.

that's why i could never understand people like madonna and metallica getting so angry over file-sharing...most of the record sale profits aren't even going to them, so they're basically defending the labels' rights to continue profiting off their work...corporate whores.

i think that major record labels and film studios are dinosaurs. at least indie labels and studios allow filmmakers and musicians a bit more creative control and voice in how their product is distributed.

i envision a world where musicians and filmmakers actually have the final control over their work and total creative control. with the internet as it currently exists, there's no reason we can't already be at this point, but the goddamn corporate assholes are the one thing standing in the way and they will do everything in their power to keep things as they are. makes me sick.

That was more a technical thing than an anti piracy thing as I understand it. But it is true. I've heard several rifftrax. The Night of the Living Dead and Willy Wonka were great. Much easier to get an embedded torrent. NPH is the shizz.

the one in the middle is too long for its bed, its feet and tail are touching the icy cold tiles.

The only reason they are worse in that department is because it's 6 hours worth of the shit and Expendables pretty much had one 15 minute hallway scene. Which is technically worse but quantity trumps quality when there's that much difference in the amount of footage.

Iron Man 2 is a popcorn movie you can enjoy without over-analyzing it. The TF trilogy and Expendables are abysmal horseshit. Just go rent the 80s movies they were all in. You'll have a much much MUCH better time.

I am fine with a paper thin story as long as the action is really good. I just don't want a story to be so stupid it's distracting. A lot of action movies just have plain old bad action scenes too. Indeed. the week after seeing expendables, I just spent a whole day watching old tapes of "Punisher", "showdown in little Tokyo", "Cobra" and "Rambo 2", "Harley Davidson and the Malboro Man", "Terminator" and "Commando"...And a whole lot of old WWF matches involving Stone Cold, as not a single of his movies is even remotely watchable.

Hell. I even gave the "live" version of Fist of the North Star a second chance, 4 years after getting it from my neighbour's trashcan (true story).

I like the vocal ending theme for Hibiki. Especially because the gag they did with it was neat.

I've always loved that the intro was so different because Hibiki is so different. The vocal intro is pretty different too, honestly, but it isn't different in the same way. That makes no sense, really, but it works in my head.

The guy who sings it is super famous in Japan, I guess, it's really cool he did a part on the show.

i used to have pet rats. i can say it's basically like having a tiny dog...but maybe even smarter than a dog.

one of them was this really mean alpha rat that didn't like to be held, but the other was a sweetheart that would ride around on my shoulder. i used to take him to parties...he would just chill and let everyone pet him. they do this weird teeth chatter kinda thing when they are happy that i guess is their version of purring

3rd grade teacher had one named Rita. She was cool. Good students got to ditch for 30 minutes and play with her. Best way to get the kiddies to do their homework.

Yeah i don't know the publishing details, but I would have totally bought more. They could have wrapped it up better too that way. Omario's story had a nice end, but some other characters just had to deal with a super quick epilogue.

When you've already got me thinking of the character that you cloned from another story, you have FAILED to bring into your story.
