When I come across a passworded one I don't remember, it's a good chance it is either CM or frenchie so the standard I try the standard shablam or LeDoc first. :laugh:

best of/greatest hits are very subjective things. i rarely agree with what is included on my fave bands' best of comps. kind of pointless to own anyway, assuming i already own all of their albums. so i usually wind up making my own best of mixes for my favorite artists.

I really like the restrictions. They get me to listen to music I haven't in a long time, and I just really like making themed mixes. The 10 Songs part is usually the hardest part. On a normal mix I'd probably do a lot of goofy little filler bits, almost like skits, and it bums me out sometimes that I have to leave that stuff out. If this really will be the last round I guess I have plenty of time to make custom mixes, though!

I cheated a little on my TV mix and left the dun dun dun~ on at the end when I ripped the Anthropology rap. Love that ending.

Even just looking at everybody's tracklistings is a lot of fun. Such a neat look into everyone's taste.

85-89 was pretty fun.

lots of factors involved. especially in what you make'em fry. I prefer to use peanut oil, but some people (especially in the north) use beef fat (which I think tastes bloody horrible). In fact, apart from the kind of potato you use (and I guess getting french or belgian varieties in the US can be pretty hard), the main element is the cooking material.

lots of factors involved. especially in what you make'em fry. I prefer to use peanut oil, but some people (especially in the north) use beef fat (which I think tastes bloody horrible). In fact, apart from the kind of potato you use (and I guess getting french or belgian varieties in the US can be pretty hard), the main element is the cooking material.

It's mainly double frying, which is not normal practice here.
There's a new technique developed by a respected chef that involves starting with the fries in room temperature oil and then heating it once. Impractical for restaurant use, but well within the abilities of the home cook. Deb's done it once with good results, and will try it again tonight.
