MMPR is really shit. I've taken off my nostalgia goggles. The costumes are elegant and the Kanji helmets are the best Sentai has ever produced.

I am still pretty fond of MMPR, but I don't think it's really comparable to Shinkenger, honestly. MMPR probably is superior to PRS, from what I've seen, since it seems like they were going for the same vibe and it just IS NOT WORKING for PRS. It's not that sort of show.

I haven't seen much Zyuranger, but, unlike several older sentai series, it doesn't have much enduring popularity in Japan. I think that sort of show works better for this kind of bastardization. Whether you believe it or not, Robbu, Shinkenger really does have an excellent plot and characterization. It was written by the lady who did live action Sailor Moon, you know she does great stuff!

The fights appear to be toned way down too, which makes sense, since Shinkenger can get pretty intense. I really do wish they'd just tried to do something completely different with it, because this watered down to nothing version is so upsetting. ; ;

I like Lightning. ; ; Especially her relationship with Hope.

I meant Fang. I know you like her, too, though.

I love all 6. I've said this before. Any complaints I have are solely based on abilities.

QFT, when I was a kid I was totally obsessed with Mr. Green. :P

It wouldn't matter horribly if they had just put enemies in the Light/Fang parts that didn't need to be staggered. That way it would have been fine and the rest of the game you could compensate for it in 3 person parties.

So, I guess my real complaint is enemy selection for that stretch/poor planning.

i have seen a few episodes of zyuuranger. i liked it! but there were only like 3 episodes subbed. and she does! but shinkenger doesn't have sailor scouts ;;

I would strongly recommend "Apocalypse Now: The Complete Dossier" 2 Disc edition. It's got both versions. I don't know if it's on Blu-ray yet.

I really can't decide which version is the superior one. There's some really good arguments knocking around my head as to which version is the better. Almost to the point where I believe there should be a third cut.

:rolleyes: I know it doesn't sound like much help, but watch them both and you will probably understand a little more at what I'm getting at.

Well I just so happen to have mad myself familiar with Open Office and have started my Address Book, Video Game Archive, & Bibliography. The relationship thing where you join topics from 2 different tables is still kinda confusing; I want to make it so that my Books I own is somehow connected to the books I read. I'd just put an "I own this" field in but I want a separate table that isn't crowded with stuff I don't own.

Reading Abenobashi manga right now.

After seeing Aliens tonight I can't help but think that Metroid was influenced by it even just a little. I know these are broad general ideas; alien lifeform that latches onto you, them swarming all around, strong female lead, escape before the reactor blows at the end..... but when I think if Metroid could actually have a story all I can think of is Alien.

I loved the colour palatte. I loved how the light source was like a great big hole torn in the sky. And the sound design. And the grimy film grain treatment. Excellent.
And my favourite thing about shorts is when they don't require the viewer to have to speak the language to get the message. It wouldn't have mattered if the radio broadcast were in Hebrew, the story would still shine.

Well I guess he hated adding the monologues to Blade Runner and didn't really like the re-dubbing or so I heard. Blade Runner is another movie I need to re-watch soon.

I noticed Weezer is wonderful at rearrangements.

They did a brilliant job on Green Day's "Brain Stew" & "Worry Rock", The Pixies "Velouria" and The Monkees' "I'm A Believer". I even find some of their Christmas songs catchy :D
