I don't think I have any Japanese whatsoever.

Maybe Geinoh Yamashirogumi. Even then, they're mostly wordless chants and one album is even African.

I feel so much better today~ I wanted to get out of the house a bit so my bf took me to get breakfast~ I stuffed myself silly with ham and cheese omelet and bacon! ^__^ I think I ate too fast :erm:

My cover is a George Condo painting. His stuff is terrific. Thought about using lots of his pictures as a cover.

This mix was really fun for me because I rediscovered a lot of music I didn't even remember I had. Music I got when Amazon used to give away free mp3s, songs on compilations, stuff like that. Only about half of mine is stuff I listen to regularly.

I'm downloading everyone's now and starting a playlist!

Just a bit of a warning: Don't let the vocal chords of the french singer (Franois Hadji Lazaro, singer of the groups "Pigalle" and "Les garons Bouchers" intimidate you. It's a nice song. I'll try to post a trasnlation, but the thing is fecking hard to translate, as it uses a lot of parisian slang. Essentially it's a song on a "Bar-Tabac" (French bars that open late and also sell tobacco, smokes, lottery tickets and the like) in the a seedy area of paris, and what happens there at night.

I really like this song, probably because it sings a bit of the "real" paris, not the one shown to tourists...

The best meal I've had I've never been able to recreate is Indian. I think I need a pressure cooker.

I love Pho. Asian cuisine is pretty nice for a vegetarian in general, though I've heard that's not the case at all if you're actually in Asia.

When I was in Italy as a kid I was so weirded out by the lack of meatballs and how their pizza is different from ours. Gelato and their coffee though, they get some points.

Paris reminded me of Philly in some ways. There's the ritzy neighborhoods, and the tourist neighborhoods, and some working neighborhoods and some really fucking dangerous ones. Which one is the real Philadelphia? None. And all. It has a distinct character, a quality that shows up no matter which part of town you're in, but after that...You have to take it warts and all.
Now if you asked me which I'd rather stay in, Rittenhouse Square or the Badlands, I don't even think you need to wait for an answer. I think that's true for Paris.
Of course, the Mrs. and I had a blast in the nicer parts of Paris. But I remember on our second trip taking the Metro back to DeGaulle, we caught the morning rush hour and there was a wonderful familiarity of a lot of people who had jobs and lives and crap to deal with and didn't care what city they lived in, just that they had places to go and shit to do. We'd seen that before in Philly, and New York, and on a much smaller scale, Los Angeles. (Mainly cause so many people out here drive.)
I seem to have forgotten the point I was trying to make. I'm sure it's in there somewhere.
Anywho,
JonC

So Le Doc.........:erm: ............... Do you guys actually............ make........ French toast........... you know..... the way we know it?

How do you do it ?

We used some piece of bread that are a bit stale (I said stale, not moldy). we put them in some milk mixed flavoured with a bit of vanilla, then in some mixed eggs, then off to the frying pan, until they're a little browned, then we put sugar (or honey, it depends (on the mood, mainly), and then off to the tummy.

We call it "Pain Perdu", because we mostly use pieces of stale bread forgotten in their package. great way to avoid throwing bread to the garbage.

I did say the bread was only stale, not moldy ?

Also, some people don't use milk. at all. 'tis better with milk, especially if said bread is really hard: milk makes the bread a softer (and makes it inflate), and the egg makes is brown. perfect union.

I'm even more hungry now...

Blue cheese is a general classification of cow's milk, sheep's milk, or goat's milk cheeses that have had cultures of the mold Penicillium added so that the final product is spotted or veined throughout with blue, blue-gray or blue-green mold, and carries a distinct smell, either from that or various specially cultivated bacteria.

Well, there have been a shitload of bakeries that went belly up recently. Mainly the prices for raw materials, the price of gas that keeps rising, hygien norms that are more and more insane for bakers. 2 of my favorite bakeries closed down definitely recently. One made the most awesome croissants ever ;_;

I wasn't even aware that it was going to close down. Otherwise I'd have bought a good 40 croissants, stored them in the freezer, and I would have had some for at least a few weeks (around 20 weeks, as I ate two/week)...

I'm allergic to penicillin too. and the quantity of blue cheeses (we have several. no, we have dozens. and that doesn't even take into account the italian and british ones I like too) I eat is counted in metric tons. I love these. Especially these four: Fourme d'ambert, Blue stilton, Gorgonzola and, of course: Roquefort. Although I have a small preference for the first one, which is a little less aggressive to the palate than the other french one, the Roquefort.

Even more hungry. And I'm starting to drool :erm:

IU's a little French girl? I thought he was a little Asia---....

I dated IU?

Wait...but...wait...there was---....

Doc will be jealous~ Just remember, IU may be Asian and also French, but he doesn't have a Snuggie. Or yoga pants.

I like french toast with fresh berries. Syrup is best on scrambled eggs.

I've put off watching the Ace Attorney movie for ages because there was a problem with the English subs where some of the end didn't show up. Looks like the subs were just updated so giving it a go! Hopefully it it does screw up limited Japanese + knowledge of the games will get me through.

You've gone this long eating of the blue cheese. :shrugs:

Indeed. I like my French toast with nothing but quality whipped cream and fresh strawberries.

Maple syrup is best on pancakes.

....and sausages. Yum.

Personnally, the only sausages I eat with something sweet are Toulouse sausages. with stewed apples.

:treknod: Syfy (yep, in french it sounds like the beginning of Syphillis) even airs wrestling. nothing science fiction in their. not even fantasy, as it's wwe, and they don't really remember how to wrestle or put up a good show anymore. and don't have any scifi or fantasy based characters anymore.

Of course, it could be argued it's fantasy seing as it's quite unrealistic. at all. and full of bad acting, which is Syfy trademark.

I'll agree with lye, I find the themes a bit too rigid this time. vol 21 and 22 were great because the theme were wide enough to embrace a shitload of music genres, songs, etc. as for vol 23, it depends whether you enjoy remixes. most of the times I don't. I prefer covers. Finally vol. 32 and 33 are supposed to be hard, real hard. I don't know what 31 is. I'm tempted to take it next friday just on principle alone :ashine:

depends on what you mean by solid too. Aden did death, I did lovecraft, and there's like a million other you can do. the hardest part are the genres tough.

The theme can be pretty much anything, so it's only as hard as you want it to be. With genres too, you could pick 10 wildly different genres or do stuff like "chamber pop", "indie pop" that are really pretty similar.

I make a lot of these harder for myself (and my mixes worse, probably ), because I think the challenge is really fun.

It's freezing here. ; ; So cold I've barely done anything today.

I think 'it should have been longer' pretty much sums up my views of Korra.

There was enough 'stuff' going on that could have filled TWO seasons...

A little double penetration wouldn't have hurt either.

31-33 should maybe have different names though, since they're bonus albums.

also, 23 was super easy for me because I just don't have that many remixes, unless I did nothing but Verve catalog stuff or more video game music. The more music I have to choose from, the trickier it gets.

Yeah, they've had wrestling on SciFi forever. It was the first non-sci-fi program they did, but it gets, (or at least use to get,) huge ratings.
All of the niche channels have abandoned their mandates. And everybody runs one of the CSI shows.
It's annoying.

It did get huge ratings. WWE doesn't have the ratings it had around 1998-2002, when they had sometimes ratings up to 10. Today smackdown gets a 1.89 rating (that's the one for 09/04/2012), on Syfy. Which, for a cable/satellite channel, is pretty good. which ensure a lot of bad wrestling, badly delivered promos, and overscripted matches in the future.

On a side note, yup, I really enjoyed your vol.32. Where does that Wacht am rhein/Marseilleise combo come from ? movie ? And same question for "Brother". I can't remember for what anime or game Oshima composed that one. Fun fact: Anything goes nearly made it on one of my round two comps (I think it was ten TV/movie songs).

Japanese packaging is so nice that it's really hard to give it up. I'll always keep my Figuart boxes but I pretty much get rid of everything else. I sometimes save cardbacks but obviously not in the case of Japan stuff.

I am probably going to use a lot of sub genres on mine. I have a couple really out there genres (I used swing hop on my last one!), but I don't know if they'll work with my theme. I'm just plucking out songs that fit, and then seeing what's what genre, then trying to fit it together. Might be able to finish tonight, depending on how much time I have!

Really, if the theme bit is throwing you, you could just start picking out songs, taking a look at them, and see if you can think of anything at all that fits them together.

When I was trying to think of themes I could think of lots of genres for I realized I could think of like 5 different genres of necrophilia songs off the top of my head. Not my theme, no worries.

Yeah. Dairy foods do that.

They're sometimes not the best stuff to eat while sick.

Quite often, not all your food gets digested and sits halfway down the pipe. Dairy collects bacteria much faster while just sitting there.

In theory it should, but there was a french song I really want to put, and I figured at first there wouldn't be a better occasion to use it. unless there's a "ten songs about bars" in the upcoming volumes. if so, color me fuckered.

In fact I didn't want to use english because I really wanted to make an "english" free mix. one option was "Inama Nushif", the song in fremen from "children of dune", another was gangnam style, a third was raiding my mothers cd cabinet and pick a random Oum Khaltoum track. but I can't stand the stuff so that would have been cheating. That or seeing if I still had the lyrics I had written for a song in dwarvish about beer, beards and battle axes.

Sadly I don't have them anymore, lost in a PC crash. I'll rewrite them someday, and sing them on the tune of "we will rock you". that or a song in black speech about cooking hobbits. And I mean about cooking hobbits as a dish, not the fuckers going all chief like in a hobbit sized kitchen.

He did. :erm:

Not just hip hop but gospel hip hop.

Mother of God. Hip hop sub-genres. Game over.

I still keep some old thing I'm not listening anymore, like Cradle of filth albums I ripped eons ago.

I like some CoF. :erm:

Doc, what's that "Agree?" thing on The Shell?

Is it supposed to do something?

Random idea here......... what would be the consensus on doing an official STS wallpaper blog? We could all make whatever the hell we want for wallpapers~ Have ones with STS smilies and logos and junk~

Bud added it over a year ago but it wasn't compatible with our template. When I changed template it started working again. I changed the words because his were wonderfully offensive.

It's just another way to get feedback from the lazy shits and shut-ins that don't comment. A way for people to say:

1. they agree with your review
2. they think you're a dick
3. they're a dick
4. trout

You want it removed? I'd give it a few weeks to see if it gets used at all.

I don't know what it's supposed to do.

Am I missing something? It's not supposed to be clickable or anything?

Or is just our way of saying "come at me, bro"?

You click the option you want. If 2 people click Agree it'll have a number 2 beside the Agree option. It's like the LIKE buttons on youtube, I guess.

I'm terrible at that sort of stuff but I'd be interested in seeing what others come up with.

Then I'm missing something. :eye:

Let me check it on my laptop or tablet.

I'm all up for new doodles to make~ But it'd be no fun if I was the only one trying any.

Yeah. Those options don't show up on my PC, Doc.

But they do on the laptop. Feck.

Gotta figure out why now.

It's clickable. Like a tally. Numbers go up.

Gotta figure out why now.

Maybe your browser?
