thats good. theres also a part in the dungeon where u can pick which of 2 paths u want to take. its right after a scene. you can always take the other path as u please. it was also the best level up spot in the game.

So far the best I can do is manipulate small things.
Like if the "game" ends earlier than I wanted, I look for stuff around me to rewind and fix it so we can go on longer.
There's quite a few resets, actually. :laugh:

It's fun when there's legions of monsters, robots and assorted aliens all fighting.

Then it really gets fun when the biggest damned boss shows up and we all have to team or flee.

A lot of self-defense mechanisms.
Like if someone runs around the corner to shoot me, they either fire blanks, the gun malfunctions or someone else takes them out.
The really creepy ones is where it's like a video game. But I'm real and all the 16-bit zombies could really kill me.
I can find new rooms that appear and more floors to take, but then that just means difficulty increases and I sooner or later run out of amma, grenades and get outnumbered by zombies. :sad: fuckers.

I have gotten pretty good at controlling dreams. I've had nasty nightmares for as long as I can remember so it's almost like a self-preservation thing! I'm better at controlling the dream when I don't enjoy it. When I'm just dreaming about normal goofy stuff I never even realize I'm dreaming.

I spent a while trying to have a lucid dream after a really weird experience. It was the night I found out someone I knew had killed themselves, so I was in a really weird state of mine, but I woke up and saw a message written on my ceiling. It was dark enough that I couldn't read it clearly and I went back to sleep, then there was no message in the morning. When I talked to other people about it they kept saying it sounded like a lucid dream, which I didn't think it did. I mostly wanted to have a lucid dream to give myself some kind of point of comparison! But I got over it. Like I said, I wasn't in the greatest state of mind, so I think I fixated on that as distraction. My obsession with having projects to do is largely a coping mechanism. If I'm not doing much of anything I'm either super depressed or pretty darn happy. ;)

I've always struggled with shutting my mind off enough to go to sleep, and I feel like that's part of the problem, as far as the really nasty dreams go. It sounds like that's basically the same effect you're achieving by drinking a bit before bed? It might be worth trying. I understand not wanting to mess with something that's giving you some peace, though.

Drinking a small amount helps me with that too. If I overdo it, which is pretty easy for a tiny person, it makes things a lot worse. It ups my anxiety and I get the panic attacky sort of dreams. I'm pretty good with knowing my limits these days, though.

I've definitely had times in my life where I've deliberately tried to have nightmares. I can be extremely masochistic, and nightmares are a healthier outlet for that than anything I might do in the real world. I didn't get the impression that's what you were going for, though!

The nightmares I have randomly are about 1000 times worse than anything unexpected, though. You might wind up finding Silent Hill when you stop trying. ;)

When I first got out of rehab and back into the real world I was recommended melatonin. I used it for a year or two.

Probably still have some....way past it's expiry date I'll bet. Probably do more damage than good now. :laugh:

The drinking thing is probably not the smartest idea :laugh: but it works for now.....in the long run, I know I should probably find a better way to deal with it.

It makes perfect sense that you wouldn't want to change something that's fixing the problem. Making any sort of transition is probably going to be pretty awful for a little while and when you don't have a big reason to make a change now it can't be all that tempting to go through that. The problem with using alcohol, aside from any obvious health reasons, is that regular drinking will cause your body to produce more lactic acid, and that'll make you a lot more likely to have nightmares when you don't take it. You're not drinking a lot, so it's probably not a huge issue, but if you've had bad nightmares or anxiety on the nights you've skipped drinking then that's probably a sign it's a problem for you. Aside from the melatonin, you could try cognitive behavior therapy too. That's a huge success for a lot of the residents I've worked with, though it's something I've completely failed at applying to my own life.

I didn't have to pay for any of it. Was taken off the streets and paid for my parents....after I got out of rehab they took me in for a year. Lived in the shed in the backyard. :laugh: Didn't want an addict in their house.

Reminds me of the time I freaked out some college kids. I was walking home wearing a huge black jacket. It apparently looked like I transported there when I stepped out of the dark into the streetlight. It probably didnt help i was playing with my knife as a distraction. I only keep it around for opening stuff and cleaning my nails. It's not even sharp. They ran off with a yelp.

When I first got out of rehab and back into the real world I was recommended melatonin. I used it for a year or two.

Probably still have some....way past it's expiry date I'll bet. Probably do more damage than good now. :laugh:

The drinking thing is probably not the smartest idea :laugh: but it works for now.....in the long run, I know I should probably find a better way to deal with it.
