The Avengers thoughts:

1) Iron-Man's suite was powered up by Thor's lightning. Why haven't they taken advantage of that later on?
2) Iron-Man's energy shoots out like the magical energy of Asgard. Had I not watched Thor, I'd have not noticed it in theatres thathe sparks like Asgard magic.
3) Why hasn't anyone figured out the Stark Tower is the key role in the Tesserac???? I figured it out when Captian, Banner and Stark figured it out and neglected that fact.
4) Pissing off Banner triggered the gamma radiation that made Loki's spear glow enough for Barton to find them. Which leads me to #5...
5) Captain America said the plan was for Loki to have all the good guys turn on each other. They easily forgot that idea when they actually did turn on each other. Captain Ass-Rimjob especially.

I'm surprised though that she didn't also grab and smash the phone that was filming her. ;)

The only ones I made a note about were the (Web Rip) for "Rises Chant" and the (YouTube Rip) for "Crazy In Love" which is CBR but at half the sample rate of 44.1kHz.

The ones I had actually had in FLAC, I converted with LameXP at 44.1 kHz and VBR-9 bitrate.
Which gave different results.

Not all programs and media players will give an accurate description of the VBR data.
VBR data is a nightmare to most program developers.
They don't do all the research.
So every program will report the bitrate at a different rate.

They don't take the VBR header into account.
And are lazy, dull and absolute gobshyte developers for that reason.

But the truth of the matter is, no will ever know entirely the nature of VBR data.
Not even MediaInfo will fully know.
It does its best.

So will Windows properties.
So will dbpoweramp properties.
So will any media player.

Regardless, it's VBR. All your reported bitrates are correct.

Some report the peak. Some report the median. Some report the desired standard aside from the VBR.
I set them to be, at the maximum, 64kbps.

It's developer laziness if you all get different results.

And that's the cold truth.

Answered. Developers, lack of knowledge. Too simple coding for VBR.
VBR=Unpredictable data calculations.

I had to finally add it to get rid of the squiggly red lines.

I wanted to use "Black Fairy", but it's too short.
The film version of that with a few other tracks plus the siren was more ideal.
But that song really sealed the deal for me.

Nolan detested against 3D because the cameras were limited in what can be provided for his image.

He fought the studios, teeth and nails, to keep Inception 2D because he didn't believe in the 2D-to-3D conversion.
If he had wanted 3D, he would had filmed it with 3D cameras.

He chose not to because so many of the scenes he had planned were not entirely possible, nor flexible, to accommodate 3D cameras during the filming.
Had the cameras been easily adjustable and flexible as any other camera, he'd gladly film Inception in 3D.

His main focus is IMAX cameras.
The whole aspect ratio.
It's no different than an old TV, really.
IMAX really only has 1.43:1 AR.
Which is really not that far off than a standard NTSC TV (1.33:1).

Which one is Mod16???

IMAX is a fake technology that should not be taken into consideration.

Film what you want and convert it to 3D.
No compromise. No extra expenses on 3D cameras than what you can save for the simple 2D-to-3D conversion.

Doesn't mean the entire film was filmed in IMAX cameras.

3D filming is a shit business.
It was enough to make Bay give up on the whole endeavour after doing TF3.

CG-wise, it's quite easy.
The assets are all there.
Just re-render them at a slightly off-set angle.
The entire Shrek franchise can be converted to 3D and made to look like that was the natural format intended.

Live action?
Fucking forget it.
2D-to-3D with expensive software and hardware.
I'm talking servers designated to a single building.
Graphics cards that far surpass, even the most advanced, end-user in the market.

The best 2D-to-3D companies out there have proprietary software in order to protect their methods and software.
Even making a demo, one could hack the software to make it available to the simplest editor with hacked software.

One of the largest MPEG-2 authoring software is Cinema Craft Encoder.
A lot of professional studios will use their software to master DVD's.

I use it.

Their software is extremely difficult to hack to make public.
Only one user has been able to successfully hack the software and provide updates.
But his work is too few and far between to even consider as a valid source.
When it comes to CCE, it's best to buy the software.

From personal experience...
CCE SP3 for Vista and up, it's not worth it.
CCE SP3 is pure shit.

CCE Basic is said to be identical to CCE SP2.
CCE Basic, CCE SP1, CCE SP2 really have no substantial differences between the versions.

I actually talked in length with a "disciple" of God.

1) Why did no one really care that Loki didn't run away during the scuffle, Shakespeare in the Park, other than Nick Furry?
Where's he going to go? He's on foot in the middle of nowhere and he can't fly. He could try and hide, but it would be embarrassing for a god to hide.


2) Why was Iron-Man falling in space?
I believe that is blow back from the explosion. Even without air, The explosion would produce a blast (see Nuclear Pulse Rockets) they would just be much, much less efficient than a shock wave propagated through the air. For that matter, do we know that there is no air? I mean Loki was breathing something in the opening scene. If the asteroid region was covered by some kind of air bubble, (which they would be more than capable of devising,) that would also account for 3 and 4.

5) Why do all the Chitauri act like the Droids in The Phantom Menace? :notgood: The team deserves an army to fight to the last.
They might be powered by good old fashioned Tesla broadcast power. More importantly, when Iron Man redirects the missile at the risk of his own life, the story is over. Everything from here is denouement (that's French for when we finish off the super villains.) To keep fighting any longer would draw out a fight scene that is already too long.

Charge Iron-Man up with Thor's lightning and have at it!

I wasn't a huge fan of the old Thor. Loki was always fun, though. I liked Straczynski's Thor reboot. But I usually like Straczynski's work. His was the only Watchmen prequel I was curious about. Is it any good?

Because the formula for any movie is to use elements first introduced early in the movie, no matter how menial it may seem.

In reality, Stark, Banner and Captain would have figured it out.
I literally don't understand what you are saying. Are you annoyed that characters in a movie should have solved a problem using movie logic? Why not just have them read ahead to later in the script?
They have the whole world to search. Loki could have just as easily been planning the portal for Norway, where the Tesseract was found, or California where he teleported in.
As for why the audience didn't figure it out, it's called misdirection, and it's a good thing.

It was Loki's plan. The mere presence of the Hulk was key to the whole plan.
And the scepter only glowed when the whole lot got irate with each other and turned against each other.
The power of the Tesserac, surely, doesn't act alone on negative energy.
I can only assume that it was Banner's gamma radiation, which is why they told him was "the reason" why they wanted him apart of the team.
Which really wasn't. They wanted the Hulk to keep things on leverage in case all Hell breaks loose.

I'm no physicist, but I imagine the stronger Banners rage gets, the stronger he emits gamma radiation, which, I imagine, is a source of energy the Tesserac feeds off of.
And since the ship is cloaked, even one such as Barton cannot fully pinpoint without a significant energy feed.
I'm no physicist, but if Banner is emitting gamma radiation, everyone in the room now has cancer.
The tesseract isn't in the room. The tesseract isn't reacting to Banner's presence. Loki's staff is. We don't know what it does, or more importantly, what it is doing to them.
When Hawkeye approaches the helicarrier it isn't cloaked. Don't make this more complicated than it needs to be.

Nolan detested against 3D because the cameras were limited in what can be provided for his image.

He fought the studios, teeth and nails, to keep Inception 2D because he didn't believe in the 2D-to-3D conversion.
If he had wanted 3D, he would had filmed it with 3D cameras.

He chose not to because so many of the scenes he had planned were not entirely possible, nor flexible, to accommodate 3D cameras during the filming.
Had the cameras been easily adjustable and flexible as any other camera, he'd gladly film Inception in 3D.

His main focus is IMAX cameras.
The whole aspect ratio.
It's no different than an old TV, really.
IMAX really only has 1.43:1 AR.
Which is really not that far off than a standard NTSC TV (1.33:1).

Film what you want and convert it to 3D.
No compromise. No extra expenses on 3D cameras than what you can save for the simple 2D-to-3D conversion.

Doesn't mean the entire film was filmed in IMAX cameras.

3D filming is a shit business.
It was enough to make Bay give up on the whole endeavour after doing TF3.

CG-wise, it's quite easy.
The assets are all there.
Just re-render them at a slightly off-set angle.
The entire Shrek franchise can be converted to 3D and made to look like that was the natural format intended.

Live action?
Fucking forget it.
2D-to-3D with expensive software and hardware.
I'm talking servers designated to a single building.
Graphics cards that far surpass, even the most advanced, end-user in the market.

The best 2D-to-3D companies out there have proprietary software in order to protect their methods and software.
Even making a demo, one could hack the software to make it available to the simplest editor with hacked software.

One of the largest MPEG-2 authoring software is Cinema Craft Encoder.
A lot of professional studios will use their software to master DVD's.

I use it.

Their software is extremely difficult to hack to make public.
Only one user has been able to successfully hack the software and provide updates.
But his work is too few and far between to even consider as a valid source.
When it comes to CCE, it's best to buy the software.

From personal experience...
CCE SP3 for Vista and up, it's not worth it.
CCE SP3 is pure shit.

CCE Basic is said to be identical to CCE SP2.
CCE Basic, CCE SP1, CCE SP2 really have no substantial differences between the versions.

I like Straczynski's Thor too. Bulk of the Thor I've read is by him.

All of the Before Watchmen books are visually stunning, and they're a mixed bag storywise. Ozymandias, Minutemen, and Silk Spectre are my favorites, and I don't think it's a coincidence I think they have the best art too. Nite Owl and Dr. Manhattan are both okay.

Dave Gibbons has said he thinks they're cool, but he considers them non-canon, and that's pretty much how I look at it too. Just some really talented people telling their own stories with some great characters. I wish DC had sold it more like that, or just used the Charlton characters that the characters are based on and sold it as "the characters that inspired Watchmen". I feel like the controversy is keeping some of the creators working on this from getting the credit they deserve. Ozymandias is probably the most beautiful book I've seen all year.

Dave Gibbons has said he thinks they're cool, but he considers them non-canon, and that's pretty much how I look at it too. Just some really talented people telling their own stories with some great characters.

I'll forever love Dave for giving me Rogue Trooper in 2000 AD but I have to admit, he's a merc where money is involved. He loves some easy cash rolling in. :laugh: He's probably reaping royalties off the new stuff.

That might simply be because Iron Man's armor isn't made for space flight. Remember in the first movie, he has a limit to how high he can fly, and in the comics, if I remember correctly, he has a specialized armor for space missions (as well as one for deep-sea missions).

As for the Chitauri, they also might work (at least in the movie) like a hive mind. in other words, destroy the hive (and the collective brain/mind), and the chitauri become mindless heaps.

That was my nerd moment.

Silk Spectre is a lot of fun. It has its darker moments, but it's really lighthearted compared to the other comics. There's nothing remarkable about the writing in Ozymandias, really, but it's so, so stunning. I think I get too excited by the art to judge it accurately. Jae Lee doesn't work a lot for some reason, so it's extra exciting to see him here. I think it's the best work he's ever done.

Getting them from the library is definitely the best course of action. Or just flipping through the books and drooling over the art the next time you're at your local comic shop.

I just realized I forgot to download CM's 30 songs because I was too busy focusing on her cover. :laugh: That's what she gets for being awesome~ Back into the abyss I go. When I come out I'll set up a CM and doc1 playlist. :D

I thought people liked Thor just fine but didn't like the movie. That's how I feel, anyway.

I'm well educated with the comic book character of Thor and what I do know about him I like just fine.

In fact, one of the few things about the Brannagh film that I did like was Chris Hemsworth. I thought he was awesome. He brought just the right amount of heroism amd humour to the role.

Now the Thor in The Incredible Hulk Returns is a different story all together. :laugh:

Wasn't too sure about Natalie Portman...and I like her.

...but Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgard and Kat Dennings were great.

I'm curious to see what they're going to do with Dennings. Apparently her role gets larger in the 2nd one. :confused:
