Actually it was bad before that.

that is kinda fucked up. i'll give you that.

though in the film, he was basically hired as extra help. we initially see him driving the ecto 1 and such. it isn't until the end that he uses the proton pack.

however, there was a dimension to the zeddemore character not seen in the film that was explored in the animated series. iirc, he was an ex-professor and at least as intelligent and brainy as egon. i wish they had done that in the films, but i guess the filmmakers needed a blue collar, average black guy instead :laugh:

though in the film, he was basically hired as extra help. we initially see him driving the ecto 1 and such. it isn't until the end that he uses the proton pack.

however, there was a dimension to the zeddemore character not seen in the film that was explored in the animated series. iirc, he was an ex-professor and at least as intelligent and brainy as egon. i wish they had done that in the films, but i guess the filmmakers needed a blue collar, average black guy instead :laugh:
I don't remember that in the cartoon, which I generally liked.
But it's a bad idea. The whole point of Winston was that he wasn't a scientist, he was just a guy who needed a paycheck. This makes sense, since any job progresses from highly trained specialists to guys who are given a training manual, to guys who are given a name badge and told to get to work. Dan Ackroyd once said the movie was about a bunch of guys who start in the most amazing adventure imaginable, but that it quickly turns into a regular 9 to 5 grind.
But then again the cartoon also made Ecto 1 a hearse, when it's clearly (and more logically,) an ambulance.

That's the way scripts work. You have an idea, and sometimes you end up with a better one later. (Or sometimes it's worse.)

I'm pretty resolved not to buy a Wizard Driver, even if I like the show. When I liked Fourze, the switches just never felt the same as Memories. They were fun enough, but individually they didn't mean much of anything. Especially after the character connections were broken. T2 Joker is pretty much the most meaningful thing I own. I can see Wizard being fun and even really good, but something's changed along the way.

It's ludicrous to buy what it takes to get 5 hunks of plastic, but I did it with Engine Souls and didn't regret it. Shishi, Ryu, Kuma, Saru, Kame discs. Always wanted them. There was an old OLD ass listing for a Rekka Daizantou on Mandarake. Took a shot, would have gotten a shinkenmaru, too.

I really like that he's an everyman character, since he serves as the means for the audience to get information about all things Ghostbusters.

Makes me think of how Sully was originally a screw-up who was jealous of Randall. Works so much better as is.

Rekka Daizantou looks like it would be both awesome for display and fun to play with. I always wish this stuff was actually in scale but obviously that's not going to happen and it looks really nice as is.

As much as I like the Wizard Driver, I don't feel like they've been able to top Gaia Memories either. They're so simple, and they're so great just on their own, which I guess Bandai is probably not a huge fan of. It's a lot easier to pass on the driver that way. It works better for other series much better than medals and switches too. The rider rings look like they could be really tempting when it's a character I love, but Gaia Memories are just special. And not only because it's W.

I think part of it is that they never feel like a gimmick on the show. There are lots of memories, sure, but there are pretty clear limitations. Both OOO and Fourze would have really benefited from having the overall amount of medals/switches pared down. Wizard appears to be going the Kuuga route with this, which I'm really happy about. It's nice as a viewer even if you're not buying any toys.

Poor Kyoryuger. :laugh: Even Rob is starting to have doubts.

Yup. Well, not all of it. Black Sabbath eponymous song only shares its "mood" for lack of a better word (strange, eerie sound with a gloomy voice) with Lovecraft tales. "Return of the Old Ones" comes from John Carpenter's hommage to HPL "In the mouth of Madness", and the Jpop song comes from an anime of which Nyarlathotep, under the guise of a young schoolgirl, is one of the main characters. The anime track comes from Iczer one, where the extraterrestrial beings are the "Cthulhu", the game one comes from Call of Cthuhlu: Dark Corners of the earth, one of the creepiest and hardest things i've ever played...

All in all. Yeah, Lovecraft (and his creations) are the theme for my mix. If you're not familiar with his writing I recommend "The case of Charles Dexter Ward" followed by "the dunwich Horror", "the call of Cthulhu" and "the Colour out of space" as a starting point.

And and maybe the " Dream quest for Kadath the Unknown".

Pick a theme and pick songs from 10 different genres that fit it. For example, your theme could be coffee, and you could have a jazz song, a punk song, a pop song, a folk song, all about coffee.

I want to find an opening shadow cabinet/frame/type product that I can customize to hold my discs and memories, in a circular fashion akin to how they do the cgi on the shows.




This might take some trigonometry :erm:

I might be able to match them up for color, but that would take the discs way out of order.... Kind of hard to ignore numbers.

You could probably get them to look really close to that by using little plastic sticks sliced down to be the right length. You'd either need something that could serve as a base at the end of them or a way to easily attach them that wouldn't damage them at all.

I believe you can buy that foam in sheets at Michael's, though I don't know if the idea itself is doable. I keep thinking of those little plastic sticks designed to have a sign at the end? I just don't know if they're anywhere near strong enough to support something like that. CM might have some good ideas! She's much craftier than me. ;)

I have had issues with Photobucket recently too.

Foam isn't a bad idea. I have a thick craft frame with some NES games in it and the back is thick enough to accomodate small nails/tacks. I was thinking two nails under each with some sort of soft tube/cover thing slipped over the nails. They exist. They cover the tabs that hold up the shelves on my good media cabinet.

We shall not speak of the other. Although I'm tempted to post pics of that side of the room since I wanted to show the frame :laugh:

Ah, that's a much better idea than stands. It would work well and look really nice, I think. As long as it's a stiff foam I think it'd be able to hold things perfectly.

I went through a short phase where I was boo-hoo over Nick, because I was annoyed with Hiromu and Rob's inordinate love for them. Was agreeing with J.

He's a really nice guy, and I think that's easy to overlook as a character trait, because maybe it's sort of something I think is a default-ish kind of personality. It's a shame-on-me, because I love the fuck out of Shouichi-kun :sad:

He balances Hiromu, like Gori-saki does for Ryuuji, in some ways. Yoko and Usada are cut from the same mold, for the most part, though :laugh: You could argue it's because she was the youngest, most impressionable. Doesn't matter, though. Still awesome.

I have had issues with Photobucket recently too.
The drag about that foam is that it isn't very strong. It's designed to hold the weight of flowers, not anything else. A DVD case would cause it to bend and collapse. Also, any movement would cause the post hole to widen, making the problem worse.
I'm a little unclear of what the final result should look like. Are we talking about something with cubby holes, like a circular bookcase, or an open display rack, like a store display?
For the later, I would recommend a back structure (clear or opaque,) with slots cut into it on which are mounted plexiglass shelves. (Don't forget some kind of vertical support on the shelves, since the weight of the objects is going to be torquing the shelves off the rack.)
I might be able to come up with something more specific, but I need some more information:
How much space do you have to fit this in?
How many objects do you plan to display? (because once built, this number cannot change)
How big are the objects you wish to display?
