carrying my usual backpack of externals, discs and goodies to repair a computer. and my laptop to work externally if things dont work on the computer. and carrying friend's computer in a dufflebag because he doesn't have internet so I'm repairing it at home. and no sleep going on 24 hours, out of meds, need to restock and have an anger management class to go to in about an hour. on top of that barely ate in the past 16 hours from running around to appointments, friends and doing shit with very long delays because my room is such a disaster zone from looking for papers for appointments and proper cords for setups, presentations, and repairing computers (blastid keyboard and mouse need the little colorful adapators), sorting out laundry, sorting out paperwork, sorting out blank discs from written discs with no labels, getting the crashed external to format properly and pretty much trying to find time to jerk it. took me an hour to pack to go to buddies house yesterday. couldn't get his computer up and running, the computer didn't like his fancy gaming computer and he has no regular keyboard and I don't have one of those small roll-up keyboards that would suffice and tried for several hours trying to figure out why his blackberry tablet wouldn't synch up properly with my laptop to install new games and load new movies. at long last tried to reset a found ipod to synch up with itunes (needs internet as well, feckin proprietary industry commercial basterds) so i decided to watch Scary Movie 4 and The 40 Year Old Virgin on it before switching over to The Big Bang Theory on my laptop and sorting out folders on one of the working externals. i shut 40YOV right when they got married. it really blows after that part. and the beginning. so did not want to watch borat. god that monkey freaks me out.

That's actually a very neat way of looking at the psychological aspects of a ghosts burden. having felt the need to stay behind, i guess he wouldn't be bothered by the daily routines outside his "living life".

or jarre's chase music from the end of mad max beyond thunderdome? he used a lot of timpanis and i think 3 grand pianos with the very lowest notes banged out...such a lovely instrument turned into a brutal audio force...jarre was a genius. speaking of mad max music, brian may's score for the road warrior is a shining example of fine violent orchestral music.

what about horner's battle music? (it's the same in every horner score :laugh:)

speaking of violent battle music, poledouris ruled that genre..."bugs" from starship troopers iso score...

also the violent moments from shore's LOTR are excellent

They're violent but more threatening than just pure malicious violence.

Professors ran the seminars. Well, sorta. It was basically us shooting the shit, but about numbers and research, not fun stuff like penis butts and bunnies.

Every semester a couple of them picked a topic they cared about and we could pick from what was available. You had a few semesters to find one you could tolerate. Unless you fucked around and waited. Then you'd have to get stuck with whatever was offered your last semester.

I've presented at national conferences and stuff. Only taught a college class once. It went badly. Apparently I pulled off the best impromptu research meeting a professor had ever seen, though. Probably makes up for it.
