Doc1 I forgot to quote you somehow but I'm really glad you liked Joe the Barbarian! The art in that comic never fails to stun me. It's so cool to go back and re-read because the way they matched the geography of the world with the layout in the house is amazing. I have the single issues as well as the trade, and I love to look at them side by side.

Sean Murphy is one of my favorite comic artists who doesn't do enough work. ; ; I think because his art is so detailed he can't do a million things at once like a lot of other artists. ; ; He works with Scott Snyder a lot though!

The same could be said with the M. Night Shyamalan films...the reoccurring formula he uses in all of his films makes you feel like "seen one, seen them all".

I played the first one forever ago but from what I saw it didn't seem to matter at all. It tells you everything you need to know. It's gorgeous. I was genuinely sad when my trial was over.

RDR probably isn't the kind of game I'd buy on my own but I might have fun with it. I have certain types of games I gravitate towards but I sometimes have a ton of fun when I step outside my gaming comfort zones. And it'd be free, so~ I looked it up, and I think I misread it, you guys have an exclusive Plus discount this month but RDR will be free here too.

They know John Connor and his past, since everything has happened already. SO what had happened had to have been done from the past where they sent the first Terminator. It wasn't by blind luck they picked the date in the future when they picked it for the past. They were counting on Kyle Reese going back in time to protect her as well, although future Kyle Reese didn't know that he would be the father since he's human and can't calculate that paradox in due time. Kyle was the only variable, but the Terminator...

No wait. No, no. The terminator DIDN'T know who the father was, therefore, neither did Skynet. It was purely by blind luck that Kyle Reese followed the t-800 when he did at the time he chose. The t-800 was only looking for the mother, with no idea who the father was. Only to kill who gets in the way.

It wasn't only until AFTER they discovered that Kyle Reese was the father and that Skynet was the one that actually made that possible due to sending a killer after the mother that the Resistance had to send in Kyle Reese thus making Skynet the matchmaker of all time.
Despite their efforts in trying to eradicate the human race, they only ended up strengthening it through the one thing they themselves could not comprehend or calculate: love.

John and Kyle are about the same age, presumably?
Obviously, John is older in the future. And Kyle doesn't appear to be too old (compared to Michael Biehn's ageing face today).
We only see John in the future for the first time in T2, which hasn't happened yet, as far as T1 goes.
So, it's safe to say they are in the vicinity of the same age, yes?

SO when he sent Reese back in time, Kyle may not have been even born at that time or was just an infant.
Or maybe he was that snot-nosed kid that stuffed ice cream in Sarah's apron at the burger place she worked.

2 is a dead-end. No time-loop/paradox. There's nothing prevalent about 2. It's largely to allow John Connor to get an understanding of his future and gain a father-figure (by losing that figure). It's John Connor's right-of-passage.
That was quickly wiped out in part 3.

The same could be said with the M. Night Shyamalan films...the reoccurring formula he uses in all of his films makes you feel like "seen one, seen them all".
M. Night Shyamalan's problem is that he has no one to tell him when a premise is shit. Signs has an incredibly stupid premise; aliens who are destroyed by water invade a planet that's mostly water, and invade it naked. It's stupid beyond all sense and reason.
However, once you take the stupid away, or don't pay attention to it because it doesn't become relevant for most of the movie, you've got really interesting characters hip deep in strong ambiance facing a mounting terror that boils over in a locked basement.
And Signs could have been all those things and have a good premise, if someone had just had the balls to tell him that naked aliens vulnerable to water is a bad, bad idea.
To much craft, not enough content.

The way Mel Gibson's wife died is a famous urban legend too. That really bothered me, I guess because it's such a big plot point. There are parts of Signs that are terrific, though. Shyamalan got worse gradually.

We usually see a definite IP address, but not always. Some ISPs are screwy and we do see relay servers. Some people use proxies and that messes stuff up too.

It's usually really easy to ding people for sockpuppeting because you'll continually see the same names sharing an IP and not a huge list of people. Also, you can often tell by how they post. No one usually bothers to check unless someone is acting strangely. When TM would try and get a new identity every week he was super easy to spot.

When someone stole my torrent (on Demonoid), they kept the text files the same, except for my custom "spark tank" logo I did out of text.
The file creation date was the same, the format, the wording was the same.
The tags were only altered to remove my handle from it.

That pissed me off.
I was about the only person who actually found all the music in the first place.

Madsen's character was a crying shame. :laugh: I don't even know how he became part of the Viper 7 Elite Deadly Squad of Death.
I suspect largely that his brother took him in, just for the sake of being brothers.
Nowhere does it show his capacity for ever having been a Viper.

i've always thought his films had really dumb premises. but they usually offer otherwise good stories with well rounded characters. so it's easy to overlook the wicked witch aliens in signs.

It seems like there isn't an effective way to rate music games, now. They've got the mechanics down. It's just a matter of do you like the dedicated artist, and whether or not it's structured well.

There was an EB right next to a GameStop in one of my malls. Now they're both GameStops, and one moved further down the mall. Both still doing fine. I'm not sure how many other kinds of stores could pull that off. They can do it because they both have different stocks of used games, obviously.

GameStop bought out EB here. I made almost every friend I have in Massachusetts at the former EB in my mall. There was a girl who worked there that I wanted to be friends with because she was obsessed with Harvest Moon too, but she quit before I got to know her. No girls ever seemed to work there for very long. I don't think I know anyone who works there now. Most of my friends moved to Best Buy after the management changed.

This guy I watch who does collecting tips says to befriend game store employees so you can get standees, posters and display-only cases, and such. I've never come close to befriending any of them. I've had conversations with a couple that have been in the system for years, but nothing beyond that.

I'm probably going to get everything from Amazon and Best Buy, now, too. After that 'they took out the fog on purpose' conversation. Sure, he could just be an idiot, but the thought/possibility of GameStop telling their employees to lie bothers me.

I've been asked to lie, and I refused. It was a much more serious situation than hawking used games and pre-orders, sure, but still.

Yeah, It started as Software Etc. but as it kept changing management it kept creeping closer to EB. The FuncoLand by me got bought out 2000ish. Babbages too. I loved it. They had a massive selection of older games. Not just the carts either, old boxes and strategy guides and stuff like that.

I actually didn't realize it was a chain for a long time, it didn't seem like one and it was the only FuncoLand I'd ever seen. It was a really great store.

It's so nice outside but I don't know what to do besides walk around, and the corner store is literally the only place within walking distance of here. Well, reasonable walking distance, I could probably get to Greenfield in a couple hours.

Somebody's doing Dark Knight Returns, and that's about as mature as you can get short of the porn movie. Maybe, maybe, if it does well, someone might do the numbers for a more mature Batman and its accompanying smaller audience. I wouldn't hold my breath.
The animated series pushed back the boundaries of what could be done in an animated series in the US. I mean clearly, there were things done in later episodes that would have been impossible at it's start. It had a good run, they told the stories they had to say, and then they moved on. Don't regret their absence, be glad they were ever here.
I, for one, have enjoyed the Joker I've had, and am not in a hurry for more.
