Last time I posted on 4chan I started a flamewar. just by saying that a bunch of redneck states had been french possessions until 1800. Like Iowa, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Kansas, Missouri and one or two others, plus Louisianne...:rolleyes:

I used to go there to get meself some hentai doujins, but...I found out easier ways that enabled me to avoid some of the stuff posted there. I still go there sometimes to get infos on new or weird guns from /K/.

I generally like 4chan. But I really only go on /co/, /m/, and /toy/. Occasionally /lit/. They're really no worse than reddit imo. Just more original content. ;)


Keep in mind though that the main character in almost all scenarios is pretty oblivous.

This is true of almost every visual novel with female character paths. The main character is sort of underdeveloped and oblivious to everything. I guess it's supposed to be so players can imagine themselves in their place? I saw it subverted amazingly in one game. Clannad has my favorite protagonist, as far as dating sim-y visual novels go. And even though he's well developed, I can relate to him better than anyone else in the game. Funny how that works~


Someone recommended another VN (Saya No Uta) to me.

Leave it to the Japanese to create something as fucked up as that abomination. Its more than enough to drive a man mad two times over. Their bloody official site doesnt even hint at the horrors in that thing.

When I first played Saya No Uta, it was on my DS and I thought I'd screwed up the program I got to run it on there because of the sound. XD It's a really good game though. Fascinating premise. I really like stories that revolve around weird psychological conditions. All of the endings are pretty interesting too, though I have a favorite. They made it into a comic book in the US. iirc it's called Song of Saya. The game is getting an official US release this year.

If you want a short-ish visual novel that's interesting but less...intense? You might want to try True Remembrance. I tend to like intense games but it's very good. Story gives you lots to think about.

I just wish my head would feel less weird. I think my 'headache' is being caused this strange feeling in my ear. It's not a pain.... it's just annoying. I can feel it pulse every so often....... I think what happened is when I stretched out a bit the other night, my neck popped in a way it really shouldn't have and it was really loud. Maybe that 'hurt' the inside of my ear......

Headaches are the worst :( I have been having migraines a lot lately and I don't feel like myself either. I just can't think the same way. I know it's an ear infection thing, but have you tried filling a sock with rice, heating it in the microwave, and then holding it against your ear? Might help like it does with ear infection pain.

I do take vitamins! I actually am taking pretty good care of myself lately but it doesn't seem to be helping. Still really underweight and gross and feel like crap a lot. It probably is stress related, since I've been pretty stressed when I've had these issues in the past too. Maybe I'll see if I should get on new meds anyways, though. I had one of these last october and it truly was a pain to get other with. basically it was the consequence of an epic eardrum. the doc had to inject water with a syringe in my ear to make the plug go away. then I had to put drops in my ear for close to a month. all the while I did have headaches, plus the feeling I had cotton stuffed in my ear. but I still think you should see a doctor. the Doc told me that a few more weeks and I could have said bye bye to life in Stereo.

I got swimmers ear so bad one time that he had to force a wick into my swollen canal so the medicine could ride it inside. Ear stuff can mess with your head if it gets bad enough. For me it messed with my sense of smell and everyone I came across, no matter their level of hygiene, all smelled like they had the same case of really bad BO.

Never. use. a. Qtip. to. clean. your. ear.

it only pushes the earwax deeper in the ear, and creates an even bigger problem. you can clean the outer region of the ear (In other words, never put the Qtip inside your ear. Actually, it can even cause wounds), but to go deeper, you should use some kind of spay, or use the shower. THe thing is, Qtips weren't design for ear cleaning. The package of Q-tips plainly reads, "Do not insert swab into ear canal. Entering the ear canal could cause injury. I think watching Last Exile:FSW subbed is going to drive me insane eventually.

Its just something about the Japanese language that just makes me cringe. Maybe its just the younger character voice actors.

No....but the psychos I ended up with kept on joking that they did.

Basically, Qtips are make-up tools, and can be used for, say, applying disinfectant on small wounds and with precision, or cleaning fragile and small stuff. I went through a whole box the other day to clean my Chaos Space Marine army.

As for cleaning the inside of your ear, well, either use the shower water jet, or go for one of those pressurized ear cleaner solds in pharmacies (no, not those for animals. there are some designed for human beings). but more importantly go see your doc, as I'm no doctor and only know from (bad) experience. I'm only an historian/linguist/geek/bibliophile.

I had to go through nearly all of Dickens works last year while working on an exhibit about him. it was held it the same little town he used to visit to meet with his, err..."girlfriend", who was an actress 25 or 30 years younger than him. The exhibit was a hell of a lot of work to do, especially as I got to write the little booklet that was given to the visitors. and then translate it in a rush because the company hired by the local council to do the translation had fucked up and had sent our way one of the worst translation I've ever seen.

It was..."Marcus Nispel adapts Conan" kind of bad. awfully bad. bad to the bone...hell, it was bad to the Bone's DNA. But all in all, working there was fun (great coworkers, and we had enough time left to watch movies during our daily pause), and it was paid work. :happycroc:
