first get the video, and open it in VirtualDub.
Tediously go through the video looking for the frames you want.
save just that little segment as an UNCOMPRESSED video >.<
(should be 200-600mb)
Import in your favorite gif making program.

Good ones are not free.
I say use uncompressed video as that makes it easier to open in any gif program.

I use really old Jasc Animation Shop (now owned by Corel).
I'm trying to look around for something better with more effects.

I always did it a different way. I would play the video and pause to where I wanted and took individual screen caps after every motion. Then put them together with whatever program I had at the time.

Pirating games is more trouble than it's worth really, especially if you have technical issues which you invariably will and they take forever to dl since they are routinely larger than anything else you would pirate. I tried it with Oblivion back in the day, with all the iso and whatnot. Pain in the ass. Friend bought it used for 20 bucks on 360. We had a great time. 20 bucks was the price of convenience I guess.

I drew it. And then I colored it. That's what's wrong with it......... Well, actually I like it but it's not really...... "good" at all. It's part of a memory I tried to draw out but it's not quite right, I guess it could go with the excuse of being a memory and therefore kind of abstract or whatnot... still strikes chords with me though.
