The similarities to Kuuga are pretty striking, but on the whole I don't feel as attached to everyone, yet. They aren't bad, though! Shouichi can be pretty funny, especially when he's lovesick, but he's no Godai. It's nice that the sinister possibilities are there, however. Definitely more enamored to the mystery and drama than the fights. Needs a lot more Gills and hopefully that'll happen soon. I like Flame Form. Storm Form is too Rising Dragon clone for my tastes.

G3 isn't bad, it's just so back and forth. Hikawa is an okay dude. Houjou flip flopped so fast! Badass to coward. Jeez!

I really am liking it overall, though. Don't want to get into that mindset where I'm like Hikawa is no Ichijou :mad: Because even if the roles are similar, they're different people. That sounded so DUH ;; Kinda like Phoenix arc and Apollo arc?

Went back and watched Kuuga's final fight. Shit is still brutal! Deguva is laughing while Godai is obviously in pain from having to fight that way. Just go back and imagine that he was probably grimacing that way in most of his fights ;;

Yeah, that fight scene is incredibly powerful. ; ; So many aspects of Godai they built up throughout the course of the series might feel minor, but every bit of his personality makes watching that scene more emotional and give you such a deep understanding of the way he suffered throughout the course of the series, even if he wasn't always showing it. Kuuga's ending is kind a refrigerator one for me. It felt too short or like not quite enough the first time, but I've re-watched it several time since and I think I like it better every time. It's just such a well-written and crafted series, overall. It reminds me of W a lot. I know that should be the other way around, but I saw W first. With both series there's the sense of the writers knowing exactly what they want to do and pulling it off, and that well crafted, fleshed out universe where it always feels like so much at stake because you care so much about all the people in it.

Agito is a series where I didn't get as invested in the characters as with others. I'm sure that seeing Kuuga first makes that even harder. It still has a lot of characters I really like, though, and a terrific plot. Plus Ozawa is one of my favorite Kamen Rider ladies of all time, AND she was in Blade! Glad to hear you're enjoying it. Makes me feel like I'll still really like it when I go back and watch it again now that I've seen Kuuga.

I hope so too. There are actually a lot of Wii games I'd like to play, but I just can't bring myself to buy one. That controller. ; ; I hate it. Motion Control's been huge for Nintendo though, so I'm not terribly optimistic. =/

I didn't know Shinji was a kind of afterthought character. With him being the central focus I'd have guessed he was conceived first. It sure would have been a different show without his self-loathing and sexual repressed angst. I wonder how it would have ended?

I bought a bunch of VS system booster backs on clearance from my comic shop today and now I'm looking for starter decks and more booster packs to buy and looking at decks people have built online. ; ; I have this weird thing with ccgs where I get all interested in these obscure or discontinued games and build these awesome decks but never have anyone to play them with and just wind up looking at my cards a lot. I have the Teen Titans ccg, the Buffy one, the Sailor Moon one, and so on. ; ; I just can't muster up that sort of enthusiasm for the stuff people actually play. I do MTG booster drafts sometimes, but it's not the same. I am pretty awesome at the Pokemon CCG, or at least I was years ago (used to play it for my job), but I think the community that plays that skews young enough where I wouldn't be so comfortable hanging out and playing with them.

I wonder if there are good Kamen Rider ccgs in Japan. Probably could never get past the language barrier for something like that but it'd be cool to look at all the same! I really wished Dragon Knight would be successful enough to get a CCG since Ryuki certainly lends itself to one. Would be especially awesome if you could play it with more than two players.

Jedimon got the Blade card boxset. It has everything but Spade 4 (comes with the Blade rouzer), Club 7 (rare card), Dia 10 (rare card), and CLUB QUEEN (rare card)

Thus making it completely pointless to buy it at all :mad:

I played MTG for years at Uni. I still have the decks but not played in ages. I D/L the demo from the PSN and it was good.

It would be cool if you could actually play a card game with the Blade cards. I have translated enough pieces of flavor text to be pretty certain this is not the case, even though I haven't successfully translated all of any of the yet. ; ; Probably wouldn't want to damage such nice cards by playing games with them anyways!

I know they're probably rare and sought after at least partially because they're not in the box set, but man, Club Queen being rare just seems cruel. :( Sad to know that a lot of people don't have such an awesome card!

Sarah tried to get me to play Magic online a while back but I never did. I think I'm just not interested enough in Magic to play it online? When I play it it's mostly to hang out with people at my games shop. I don't know why, it's not like the rules are drastically different from anything else I'm interested in, and I've actually been interested in building an awesome angel deck for a while.

I didn't know Shinji was a kind of afterthought character. With him being the central focus I'd have guessed he was conceived first. It sure would have been a different show without his self-loathing and sexual repressed angst. I wonder how it would have ended?

I don't think it was so much an afterthought as it is just working the story around to find the right one. Rei may have well originally been the Shinji of the story in some drafts and then there's the fact that those character designs the author used came form a bunch that had Shinji along with everyone else.

A good example is the huge Making of Star Wars book that I read. It was compiled out of interviews, making of specials, news articles, & production docs so everything is 1973-78 era Lucas. The 1st draft was a huge miss of characters and locations. There was the Starkiller family as well as the Skywalker family, Luke was journeying with his father and brother, the Han Solo was being chased by the Jabba and some separate bounty hunters and an imperial general, the princess character had 2 best friends who where twins that tagged along with her, then the droids, plus about 5 rebel generals, Darth Vader, The tarkin character, the evil prince valorum (Lucas recycled practically every unused name in the new ones), a good guy who became evil, a general who they had to save, a general who was a imperial turncoat...... They started on the sand planet then retreated to a forest planet with native monster guys, then rescued whatever character that was doing Leia's role form the imperial capital of Aalderon which was also the cloud city, then they finally attacked the death star.

Something similar happens to me. Whenever I buy some card game to gets canned or changed. The Star Wars one and then I picked up the X-Men movie one which was on clearance and a few booster packs but then found out no one plays it. So I swore off of card games forever.

We got free cards and were supposed to be pretty hard to beat, so earning the badge would feel awesome for the kids. :)

Yeah, I did too! Feel like it could have been pretty useful, and there's something about it being the first that just makes it feel really special to me.

Isaka's where I really started to feel invested in Blade, so I have an attachment to him as well as a sense of admiration for the character. I'd rank Weather above him for sheer creepiness, but they're both really solid villains. Feel like you could make a pretty great music video pairing up Tachibana and Terui's final fights with their respective Isakas.

Never let them win. It was supposed to feel like a huge accomplishment for them when they did win, and the kids who did beat me really did seem pretty over the moon about it. Showed off their badges to everyone. There were a whole series of Toys R Us badges you could get from beating different gym leaders too.

Kids tried to cheat all the time. Mostly by making up rules that went in their favor. It was pretty funny!

It varies. There is no real template. I've lived in a house that had zero front garden, the front door was on the pavement.
I've had a house with a small front garden and a football pitch back garden. Where I am now has a large front garden full of grass and a half paved back garden for the oil tank and the bins (3). It has some grass there but not much. I've also lived in a flat where I had neither front nor back garden. We take whatever we can get sometimes.

Haha, I'm not, really! I don't even consider myself to be a competitive person. We were supposed to be hard to beat so that the kids would keep coming back, buying Pokemon cards, trying to build better decks and beat us. It's a sales thing for Toys R Us. I know some stores still do this more than 10 years later so it must be pretty successful for them.

I'd be lax about stuff like if a kid changed his mind on what he was going to do on his turn or something like that, because I feel like if people are really anal about that it makes things less fun. I just tried to play well. Most of the time I won. Sometimes I lost. The kids were always so proud when they beat one of us and all the other kids were so impressed with them. It was one of my earliest jobs and one of my favorite ones to this day.

The Superman thing is driving me crazy because it's not an anti-America thing and everyone who hasn't read the issue is misconstruing it as that. Supes just doesn't want his actions as a superhero to be seen as something political, especially after the New Krypton disaster. Presumably he's still going to have his citizenship as Clark Kent anyways.

I'm not knocking on the comic, I thought it was funny. More the inevitable (if it hasn't happened already) Fox News bitching about Superman being tainted by the liberals~ Paul Cornell wrote the issue, yo. He's not even American!

Think Mutsuki was really clever to do Smog + Stab, even if what Tiger was saying was true IN GENERAL. In some ways I feel like Blizzard Venom should be Stab + Blizzard + Poison instead of Rush. Rush is a higher level physical card, though. So, I understand why.

Stab + Screw. Get ur Big Daddy on, Mutsuki

Gel + Poison. Pass through an enemy inflicting poison.

Time + Slash. Omnislash for the masses~

Gemini + Rapid + Bullet. Non-elemental dual wielding madness.

Tackle + Metal. I'm the Juggernaut, bitch~

Thunder + Metal. Grab an enemy and get ur lightning rod on.

Thunder + Metal + Magnet. Electromagnet surprise. Blade si Magneto.

Bio + Tornado. Slam an enemy around inside the vortex. Into the ground, mostly.

Chop + Tornado + Float. Fly around an enemy knocking the hell out of them.

Reflect + Shuffle + Someone else's elemental. If FF enemies can cast reflect, why not Undead. Take that crutch out from under them.

You have some really good ones. I especially like Gemini + Rapid + Bullet and Thunder + Metal + Magnet, for obvious reasons.

I admire how well thought out Tachibana's combos were, but at the same time, it really would be awesome if he was less cautious and just tried really creative stuff, because absolutely has some of the coolest possibilities on the show, especially when I think of what he didn't use. A couple I like are Rapid + Scope + Gemini (a rain of bullets from multiple directions, no real way to dodge them since they'd have the boosted accuracy and you don't know where they're really coming from) and the previously mentioned Thief + Rock, with a potential third card added to the mix based on what sort of enemy he's up against. Would be awesome to get an attack in there, copy an ability, protect yourself, wait for them to let their guard down and then make them taste their own medicine~

Tachibana and Kenzaki like lending out their stuff. Bio + Recover + Upper/Rush/Tackle. Ensnare, heal, attack with opposite momentum as you drag the enemy close.

I imagine Chop + Tornado + Float looks a lot like Bum Rush ;)

Kamen Rider Bum Rush would be the greatest thing in the universe. I'd be reciting the buttons to push as I watched. ^____^

If there'd been a chance to do more with the Tachibana mentoring Leangle storyline they could have done some terrific mix and match combos. Smog + Bullet + Thief (Fire a shot that both weakens the enemy and makes it harder to see via smoke, steal an ability and then finish them off with an attack when the smoke clears), Screw + Upper + Blizzard (Super powerful uppercut punch to weaken and freeze the enemy, then shatter them to pieces, ala Bioshock~ I know this wouldn't really work on Undead but it's awesome in my head!). I feel like there HAS to be some interesting way to combine Thief and Remote but I haven't thought up a good one yet.

As for epic bros Hajime and Kenzaki, they could've done some Float + Mach + Tackle (pretty much DEATH FROM ABOVE), Beat + Chop + Thunder (DYNAMIC DOC CHOP), and as an attack's coming at them, they could Time + Reflect to slow down time as an attack is coming and send it back in the other direction. If it's a projectile attack they could maybe use Tornado with this?

I almost wonder if stuff like this is possible in that PS2 game!

Mutsuki rouzes Remote uses it on Paradoxa. Garren Rouzes Thief + Gemini. Chalice rouzes Shuffle and Wild.

My PC can't handle emulating most PS2 games, but I can look for it and see if I can get it to work at a choppy rate or something to get an idea of what options you have. Or I could look for videos of it on Youtube like I did with the Hibiki game.

What would be really amazing is some sort of 4 player co-op Blade game! Could work out strategies with your fellow players for maximum asskickage. ^^ Feels like Blade would lend itself better to that kind of play than almost any other rider series.

I really do think Blade airing close-ish to Ryuki was part of the problem. Even though they're really different series, they have a lot of similarities on the outside that I think causes them to get lumped together, and because Ryuki was so popular Blade sort of gets tossed aside. Now that I type this I feel like I've said this to you before. XD

There really are so many options for a game! This is making me hope the rumors about Blade coming over here are true again. ; ; I know the Dragon Knight game was pretty much a port of some Climax Heroes stuff, but I feel like a good Blade game isn't out of the realm of possibility if the series is a success!

They'd probably make Hajime an alien.

It's already started (in March :mad:) but in case you missed it too, Clive Barker has written an eight-issue miniseries comic telling "...the final Pinhead story!" It'll likely get a collected edition before the end of the year. The press release says it's only the 3rd time he's been involved with writing anything Hellraiserish, the others were the novella and the first film.

What's everyone's preferred image editor? I'm thinking about making GIMP GIMP - The GNU Image Manipulation Program (http://www.gimp.org/) my my main one.

I use Corel's PSP and Adobe Photo Shop but I've heard great things about GIMP. If I didn't have the ones I have I'd try it out.
