I know it's silly to a lot of people but they're really beautifully made toys, and the ones I have mean a lot to me. I want fans of every good show to be able to enjoy an awesome toyline.

Obviously, a show can get a lot of respect without a great toyline - the original Kuuga toyline was pretty basic for a toku show, but it had tons of critical accolades - but especially now, it's something I put a lot of importance on.

I love variant covers. There are some really amazing ones. And it's amazing how much of a difference little changes to a character's design can make. Sometimes I'll look at early designs and they only made slight changes to the character's hair or proportions, but the final version feels so much more right. If you write and draw, it must be such a great way to get a feel for a character. Just a few facial expressions can tell a whole story. Would be super neat to have a really collaborative relationship with an artist someday, I'd love to have something like that to draw from. I used to get my brother to sketch my characters for me and it always gave me so many ideas!

I don't know. I've seriously considered building my own team of favorites, and Genta's been on my list for a long time. Nothing to do with Gokaiger and a lot to do with my limited income and shelf space. Rob says he feels like Go-Busters is squandering its potential. I've heard that on tumblr, too. I don't really feel like they have. I like Hiromu and I love everyone else. They'll fix him when he has to earn Tatagami RaiOh. For me, at their worst, they're par-for-the-course in terms of what I've come to expect for sentai. At their best, they are squee-worthy.

They've had a few lackluster episodes, but they've never done anything offensively bad. I've never felt offended or betrayed, and I don't really think I'm going to be. Sentai has just been a more relaxing series compared to Rider. I can watch it and I'm not raging, unless its Gokaiger. Boukenger didn't capture my interest, but I'm not caught up on it. I'm not wracking my brain trying to understand why it's that way. I can enjoy the toys in the absence of the show.

Even with Gokaiger, I understand what they were going for with the show. My ire is more focused on the fans. I think the toys are a mess, but I didn't buy them, so it's not a personal problem. It's not a vendetta.

I obviously watched the rest of Rider while OOO and Fourze were on the air, but because it overlaps I can say that Rider has come to be this source of apprehension and.....well, pain, over the last two years. It's done so much right, but I know now that when it does something wrong it does it really wrong. High highs and low low low lows. Sentai is less impactful, overall, but it's so much less stressful to watch.

I love Rider, and I feel like I'll always love Rider, but I absolutely agree with this. For Heisei, anyway. Whether I absolutely love a series or am completely let down by it, I always have strong, visceral reactions to it. I try and watch it and not get that involved, but somehow I always wind up with my heart on my monitor. When it's good it's dazzling, but when it's subpar I genuinely feel miserable. It can be exhausting.

Shinkenger's the only Sentai I've seen that comes close to capturing that feeling, and even then, I don't feel like it's the same sort of emotional rollercoaster. My sentai sampling is still pretty small (Shinkenger, Goseiger, Go-Onger, Magiranger, and some Gokaiger and Go-Busters), and while I have affection for most of those shows, I don't have that weird passion for them that makes me feel like I'm way too attached to a TV show. I think they've had some spectacular story arcs and some great characters, but overall, it's just not the same effect. I think part of it is that sentai has a more episodic feel overall, but there's something else too. Wish I could articulate what that was.

Community's one of the only other shows I get like that about. I am glad to have some shows that are just alright shows I don't get too invested in. I don't think I could handle being that attached to too many more TV shows. :laugh:

Feck...I found 3 huge, not very hairy aggressive spiders on my ceiling the other night.

Couldn't figure out what they were so I tossed them in a jar and have been doing half-assed research to find out what they are.

Ain't wolf spiders because they don't hang out on ceilings and and aren't hairy.

They aren't a common garden spider because they didn't have a fat abdomen or have any webs anywhere and are more than willing to jump on my face.

With any luck Kitis & Horowitz ironed out the wrinkles and have a better handle on what they're doing this year. So far it sounds like they're feeling quite confident about it now.

Grimm? It's a real hit & miss. I don't think it's going to make it past a 2nd season.

My Degrassi knowledge frequently makes me cringe. :laugh: L.A. Complex gets ridiculously bad ratings here, I think it might have actually set a record? But they're still airing the second season. I don't know if I'd recommend it, but I really do like it.

I'm really excited about Emilie de Ravin being a regular. For me, the worst part of last season was that a lot of the non-fairyback storylines were dull or dragged, and they definitely found a way to liven that up.

I like Silas Weir Mitchell too. He was easily the best part of the episodes I saw. The show in general just never clicked for me. It sounded fun on paper but actually watching it just wasn't that exciting. Supernatural didn't start great either, and it reminded me of that, so I'd hoped maybe it got better.

To be honest there hasn't been anything I've heard about that's REALLY grabbed me quite yet.

I'm curious about Revolution. I like the premise (reminds me of Jericho which I really liked) and Giancarlo Esposito is a huge draw for me but so far from what I've seen is a little cringe worthy and empty. Most of the other cast members don't strike me as exciting enough.

666 Park Avenue intrigues me a bit, if only for Terry O'Quinn. The rest I fear might be really kinda mostly bad.

Arrow....simply because, well, you must know.

and Hunted. It seems to give off a British Bourne in a Bra vibe but looks like it could still be pretty intense.

Yeah, I cringed a bit at that too. I like being cryptic, or at least feeling like I'm being cryptic. I don't know if I want to download Clay Aiken or Creed, but I'll figure out a way to get mine up on the blog too. Downloading yours now.

I bit the bullet and downloaded the album for my least favorite song. It rightfully got tossed into the trash seconds later. In the time it took me to download it and copy the song to the folder, I think it spent about 7 minutes on my PC all together. :laugh:

The song from the band I hate just so happened to be on a soundtrack I own so no big sacrifice there.

I adore the cover of mine. It's ICO. I love the vastness of the space and the intimacy of the people... as they stand on a precipice. If you know ICO you'll know about the communication barrier as well. There's even more subtly that I won't go into. :erm:

I don't listen to the radio very often but I went with the last song I remembered hearing a lot. For the one I wished I heard, I picked a song I would love to randomly have come on when I was driving somewhere.

I have no plans to get married, ever, but I picked a song that makes me mushy that I don't associate with any one person. Which is pretty much a requirement for a song to still make me mushy. :laugh: I almost picked something ridiculous like Back Dat Ass Up because weddings deserve something ridiculous.
