Don't get me wrong, Vita has some good games, but most of the good ones were ports (MK, MGS) and substandard entries into great series (UC: Golden Abyss & Resistance Burning Skies). Maybe the upcoming Killzone game will be good. That dev who did Burning Skies shouldn't be allowed to develop anymore, they managed to fuck up a port of COD.

I need to decide whether I want a 3DS or Vita in time for Virtue's Last Reward. I don't think I'm actually going to buy a system, but I'm buying the game. I'll probably get both systems eventually, when they can be bought used and cheap. Might get it for the 3DS just because it'll look better next to 999.

All the reviews that have praised the 3DS XL as looking much better than expected, due to it's larger screen size but same pixel count, have let me down. I think I actually prefer the original screen size. I will say the XL is very well built, it definitely does not feel cheap, and buttons are very click-y, which I like, but it's also very heavy and my hands want to cramp every time I play NSMB2. Unless you have big hands, which I don't, I'd stick with the original 3DS. My buyer's remorse is kicking in. NSMB2 is kinda boring. I just got to world 4 and so far all of the music tracks are slight remixes from the Wii version and only 2 new songs.

They really are. It's so discouraging. I get it with the toylines, to an extent, because writers don't really have control over that and Bandai just cares about making money, but when it comes to plot, there's no excuse. Absolutely no excuse.

I get that W was amazing and they want to make a show that makes people feel like that, but it's not going to happen by doing the same things that W did. Fourze has always has its problems, but when it did work, it was doing its own thing, and was only reminiscent of W in subtle ways. If they'd kept it up, and really committed to the friendship thing from beginning to end, they would've had a pretty solid show. It wouldn't have been W, but that's okay. I don't expect every Kamen Rider to be a masterpiece. I just want to enjoy them and not kind up feeling depressed and betrayed over what should be a fun TV show.

If I hadn't committed to reviewing Wizard I think I'd just take a break from Kamen Rider for a while and catch up after the next season's over and done. Disappointment is easier to take all at once than it is week by week, and it's hard to trust that Toei won't find a way to hook me then let me down all over again.

I'm quite annoyed when I see characters in movie using that gangsta way of handling guns. On top of that it's inefficient as hell. Nothing to do with the character. I have the same reaction every time I watch action movies, because there's always a guy using this "gangsta" style.

I would buy that if they didn't make people pay for avatars, the right to PM people, the right to use the forum's search function, to have a thread stickied, and all the other things that SA charges for on top of charging for accounts. Season 2 was filled such great nuanced character arcs and relationship developments. Not much on the story side but more rich character traits and faults are explored than S1.

S1 established the characters and settings. S2 let it slowly grow and interweave amongst eachother with subtle hints thrown around.

It's certainly not for everybody. George Martin set out to create a slow-paced series of novels about war without the grand tragic hero anthems or silly villainous speeches and he succeeded. The TV series does a fine job at replicating that.
