Albert Finney is always good.

He's a fantastic actor that no one ever thinks of when the think of fantastic actors. It's alway Anthony Hopkins or Al Pacino or someone else.

Wow. I have PSP7 as well. It's so user friendly. I also have 10 but I prefer 7, when Corel took over they changed shit. If it ain't broke...

And finally Adobe Photo Shop because it has better pressure sensitivity settings for tablets.

I've been working my way through that list of films you found cuckoo and there was one called Angel's Egg. I don't know if it would be your bag of spanners but for the anime fans:

It's directed by Mamoru Oshii and illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano. That's pure gold.

I have Amano's 1001 Nights if anyone wants it. It's an RMVB.

Five chimpanzees in the west African country of Guinea have figured out how to deactivate snare traps set by human hunters. What they've learned might even be passed down from chimp generation to generation.

The snare traps are used in the Bossou region of Guinea primarily to capture cane rats. The locals don't eat chimpanzees because the chimpanzees are thought to be the reincarnation of their ancestors, but the snares will trap and kill anything that wanders inside. Still, the Bossou chimpanzees suffer far fewer snare deaths than their counterparts elsewhere, and it's all because they've learned how to avoid this deadly fate.

Researchers from the Japan Monkey Center observed five different male chimpanzees deactivate snares on six separate occasions. Once, they saw a chimp shake a snare until it broke. Another time, a group of adult chimps and a juvenile male came across a trap. The youngest chimp then managed to make the ropes holding the snare together become untied, rendering the trap harmless. All these chimps seemed quite expert and none met with any injuries - indeed, any mistake made would have almost certainly killed or maimed the chimp.

The researchers believe these behaviors have actually been passed down from generation to generation, which is supported by the fact that the juvenile chimp handled the deactivation when it's highly unlikely he was the most experienced of the party. Only the chimps in the Bossou region have displayed this ability. It's possible that this all comes from an individual chimp a few generations back who escaped a snare and passed down these behaviors to all that followed.

What's really amazing is that it isn't one specific action the chimps use to destroy the snares - multiple methods are used, suggesting the chimps really do perceive the snare as a general threat that can be dealt with using different strategies, and not just a stimulus that provokes a particular unthinking response. I guess we can only hope they don't start thinking of humans in the same way, or we really are officially entering Planet of the Apes territory.

Chimpanzees are learning how to outwit human hunters (http://io9.com/5742064/chimpanzees-are-learning-how-to-outwit-human-hunters)

 it's nerf herder....can you blame me?

Once a guy asked me out because he heard me singing Van Halen XD Man, what a fantastic song. Gonna have to put it on now!

I only really love their first two albums, but they still make me happy. "Put Your Hands On My Cat's New Sweater" sounds like the name of a Cuckoo song to me!

I love Supes but I'm not crazy about S:TAS. It's not bad or anything, just alright, and DC cartoons tend to be a lot better than alright!

I intended to watch "Enter The Void"..........I'm kind of curious about it.

Nice find. :)

I'll always love B:TAS opening. Reminds me of coming home from school, with a bag of chips and pop, playing some SNES then watching Batman. :)

The bats opening encapsulated everything that was great about the series. The drama, the darkness, the music, the mystery. Did you know they painted the backgrounds on black? Rather than starting on white and making it dark they started on black and lightened it. It made it unique visually. I have the first 2 seasons on dvd but (wait for it) .... They didn't release any more on region 2.

You guessed it:BASTARDS

I never rush anyone to do anything. I'm so laid back I only have 2 speeds. STOP and REVERSE. Which is a problem when you live in the future and time moves forward. I even pulled the battery from the clock and it still moved forward.

I like it when we do movie/music from the same film but that's not always possible.

You probably already know this, but a big part of the reason they had such a dark overall work is that the color palette they had to work with was really limited. They either started with the Tiny Toon Adventures color palette or inherited it when they got a few more colors later on, I can't remember which. ; ;

also: Japan doesn't need their own Spider-man! They have Most Excellent Superbat. ^^

Return Of The Joker was fantastic. I have it recorded from Cartoon Network from many years ago (onto VHS and then transferred to dvd) but if they ever do give it a proper release here it'll be an insta-buy for a quality upgrade.

It sucks that those things are hard to get here. Al the Marvel ones get a release.
I bought The Invincible Iron Man a few weeks ago, it was okay. Sometimes I find the CGI in the Marvel animations too obvious but they did an ok job with it.

Stateside it isn't too better. Ya see this was released at around the same time as Columbine and the movie was heavily censored. That's the version you get can get the most and is in full screen. I used to love watching "The Twilight Zone" DVD infomercial, just becaused it would do a little blurb on a few selected episodes. TTZ had it's silly moments, but if you really get your head into it, it had some very effective creepy moments too.

I loved Black Swan. If Aronofsky goes into the system it may be the last truly great thing he makes.

Don't say that, I'm sure he'll remain unpopular and make unappreciated movie after unappreciated and die alone and unloved. Wait, that's terrible.

Feck...I love that episode.

It makes a great still. The use of shadow is great. Exaggerated but effective. I love how they used light in old B/W TV shows.

Lets hope so. He's married to Rachel Weisz so maybe he'll find something to do when he's not making movies.

Keanu gets Rachel into bathtubs in all the movies they're in together. Not kidding.

Until they make another movie together and break the chain.

Ain't It Cool News: The best in movie, TV, DVD, and comic book news. (http://www.aintitcool.com/node/48221)

Film nerd that I am, that's the first thing that I looked up when I got up this morning. :p

No real surprises......I'm not impressed with how they put True Grit's Hailee Steinfeld in the "best supporting actress" category and not the "leading". Although, that might give her a better chance at taking home the little gold man. She deserves it.

I'm happy to see Jeremy Renner snag another nom. He was feckin' wonderful in The Town. Scary guy.

Melissa Leo truly deserves her "Fighter" nomination.

I'm a little surprised that Chris Nolan didn't get a best director nom for "Inception". That must have been a very difficult task to achieve and he did it flawlessly.

Let me tell you how happy I was to see John Powell finally get a nomination for "how to train your dragon" score. all year, this score has gone ignored and finally he gets noticed for the big ones. easily my favorite score of the year.....if I ever let out a little squee this was it.

He just wants to make a photobook with her~

I'm surprised Nolan got snubbed too. Third time, now!

I really want to see The Illusionist.

...snag another nom.

Nom nom. :)

There's not a single category that I've seen or heard all of so I can't comment. I'll just say that True Grit and Black Swan were 2 of the best high profile films I've seen in a long time.

Did you hear he's basing his Wolvie movie off of Miller/Claremont's Japan story. Ninjas and all. :D

That kind of got me excited for this project.

I'll watch it because it's him but I think it's a weird choice. I hope he gets final cut.

Feck. I really like Vincent Cassell and now the next time I see him I'll be thinking of him fiddling with a tie.

He's as lucky as Aronofsky, he's married to Monica Bellucci.

I tried that with "Hey Jude" & "Komm Susser Tod" but it didn't work too well because Komm Susser Tod is twice the length so the parts that'd match never happen at the same time.

I didn't hate it, it's just I already kinda know what it represented so when I was watching it so when I got to that point the impact wasn't as great.

Any of you guys ever do the Pink Floyd Echoes with Kubricks 2001? It's perfection. Hit play as Dave enters the stargate (after the intertitles) and grin.

I know you didn't hate it, you gave it a 4. That's a helluva a score. I'm powerless to prevent myself from defending it because I love it so much. It's a weakness.
