I came on IMDb to check the details of this movie just after having seen it. To my surprise its genre was "horror" and not "comedy". But then, I saw Alan Smithee on the director's credits, a guarantee for good laughs. It is absolutely ridiculous from beginning to end, so I enjoyed it very much. The dog's funeral was a real high point, I almost fell off the couch laughing!

Anyone interested in reading Grant Morrison's manifesto on the X-Men and his New X-Men run? Got it today, it's a really awesome read. Guessing Robbu might be interested but I thought maybe we had a few other X-Men fans as well. It's full of New X-Men spoilers, and if you haven't read his run you should do so posthaste! It was brilliant and all the retconning that came after is what really caused me to lose most of my love for the x-books.

Also I'm so excited about Garo stuff! Really glad I chose to watch it when I did.

His art really does look different on the shiny paper! I usually prefer the shiny paper because Quitely's big on subtle, awesome details and I feel like they're easier to spot there. Quitely is so amazing. ^^ Everything he draws feels so animated and not static at all, and he can be incredibly creative with panel layout.

I built an Earth 2 deck yesterday! It has two different Power Girls in it and a plot twist so I can have them both in play at the same time. That sounds kind of pervy, there.

I keep forgetting to tell you that I'm a fucking idiot. I remember distinctly bashing the Origins figures. For the last year or two I've been putting Wolvie into glorious poses in front of my tv. Don't know. THis past week I'm somewhat scared to say that I feel like I started to take control of stuff. Get up at 8 kamen rider while breaking fast, wash then check some quick internet stuff, do a few small things to get warmed up then stretch and exorcize, if those small things are on going like laundry keep going on that, back to the computer or serious stuff until lunch. And that's when stuff starts to fall apart and I can't decide what I should do next. I've also been getting super tired at 3-7 and tend to fall asleep if I start reading.

You're probably not getting very restful sleep when you do sleep. This has been a problem with me in the past and was a big contributor to general health issues, I think. What I'd recommend is taking melatonin. You can get it at a drug store or at health food stores. Usually it's with the vitamins. It won't make you fall asleep or anything, but it'll help you wake up less while you do sleep.

This is kind of a serious post for STS. Time to silly it up~

Strange, they're showing A Clockwork Orange at Cannes. They must be going to re-release it as a restored print or something on blu.

Stanley Kubrick asked Pink Floyd if he could use their "Atom Heart Mother Suite" in the soundtrack. However, because Kubrick wanted unlimited license to determine what portions or edits of the song he used, the band turned him down.

Me thinks the Blu-ray last home release should be good enough for most folks.

I have it on dvd. Good enough for me. It's a really good film. And not because of it's controversial nature.

It's got this anti-film form at times. That really long shot of the droogs in the car that goes on forever wows me every time. Kubrick was a master.

New Kurosawa documentary at Cannes as well. Might bore the tits off some of you. I'm excited. Eleven film makers talking about his influence on their art. Includes Clint Eastwood, Shinya Tsukamoto, Hayao Miyazaki, Martin Scorsese, Bernardo Bertolucci. Quite an ecclectic mix.

It's great. Their first one is pretty good too.
