I still think about what happened after. When the lights went out and no one was around, not even a janitor, Simon got up and started walking to find his bearings.
But completely lost and hopeless, he was about to toss himself into the street cleaners and be rid of it all.
Until, the voice of a happycroc child saw Simon and ran over to pick him up. The girl, distressed over Simon being abandoned, put Simon in her pocket.
But since it's a child, the silly git ended up dropping Simon without knowing when or where.
Simon was even more lost and confused and wishing he hadn't been picked up by the 6 year old ditz.
He wished he would've just leaned over into the street cleaner.
But then, he looked up to the heavens to make a prayer for a quick death, and as he looked up, he saw the street lamps and buildings were familiar.
He finally came to and saw that across the street he was home! He had finally found his way back!
Happy with joy, he set off his sounds like they were newly installed.
Filled with a complete set of positive emotions, Simon hops down off the sidewalk to start crossing the street. He can just hear his owner's voice searching for Simon. He can already hear the other toys asking about his adventures and mishaps. The warm welcomes, the soft bed, the younger brother always ready to play...

But.

His prayers were answered. A prayer he had only meant before he knew where he was. A prayer from a completely different person not more than 20 seconds ago. A prayer for a darkened time from a vulnerable chipmunk.
It was quick. It was painful, but quick. Simon only had mere seconds to realize his mistake.
He didn't look both ways before crossing and was crushed under a tow truck. The weight of the truck shattered Simon to pieces. His glasses strewn about the road. His speaker destroyed entirely. His face completely unrecognizable.
In Simon's eyes were only a sense of fulfillment. A sparkle in the corner of his eye that most children have only at such innocent ages. So unaware of death.
So unaware of Simon's pain that he had to endure in the last few minuscule seconds of his life as the titan of a car crushed his body and splintered his image.

They say that for a human, the brain is still active after death. For a short time.
This is also true for toys.
Simon was only able to watch the last minutes of his own existence before fading into oblivion, sightless, senseless... thoughtless.
His mind awoke from the darkness that had quickly consumed him. He slowly regained vision of his neighborhood, only to hear his owner crying in terror about the destruction of Simon.
Fragments were cupped in his owners hands as the young child continued to cry in anger.
Simon hadn't a sense of feeling. He didn't know how much of him was picked up. He doesn't know how tightly his owner gripped his remains. He doesn't know the blood that spilled from his owners hands that gripped too tightly.
Simon could feel some obscure level of comfort, knowing that his owner loved him and had not forgotten him.
If he could, he would smile.
But he couldn't. He couldn't even make one last noise for his owner before the darkness enveloped, permanently this time.

Permanently.

Man, you guys. :rofldata: I'm going to take a break for at least the day so I can get my volume 7 out. I'm never going to finish the normal ones if I keep doing these so quickly.

I'm weirdly excited for the high school one. Have some neat ideas. Relationship one should be difficult but ultimately satisfying. Might have to get out some stuff I can't listen to, anymore. I'll save it for a day when I'm not feeling particularly emotional. I don't know when I'm going to catch up on listening to everything! I've been trying to listen to regular music so I can still get my normal volumes done, stuff for this, and then people's albums. SO MUCH MUSIC ALL THE TIME, and the music sort of dominates my attention with this. With the regular volumes at least I can play stuff in the background and then check my listening data later.

I'd like to finish 10 songs proper before this, but maybe that'll put me too far behind everyone else? I'll see what feels right. Could always save my leftovers for this for last.

I'm more attracted to Beat'em all. Streets of Rage, Final Fight, Cadillac and DInosaurs, Captain Commando, Mutation Nation...those are my best childhood memories.

I can't play Castlevania for shit.
I suck at Donkey Kong Country but I can finish them. I have a surprising amount of patience for them.

In terms of Mega Man, I only played 1 through 3, and 6 as a kid. The original is still really stiff and difficult. 2 is stiff, but much more playable. 3 and 4 are a delight to play. 6 and 7 do some cool stuff.

I have a Game Gear and Streets of Rage II. I've never been particularly attached to beat 'em ups. The good Resident Evils are a lot more effective in terms of stress relief, for me. The KING of stress relief is Prototype. Goddamn it feels good just to jump into crowds of people and just start swinging.

I love beat-em-ups. I'm not sure if it's just nostalgia or what. I really liked a lot of them when I was a kid. River City Ransom especially. The Scott Pilgrim beat-em-up is wonderful.

The anniversary collection kicked my ass. Games are totally pussy nowadays. I managed to complete 2 but that was it.

I read Gobusters had really bad ratings. Fourze has pretty bad ratings, though, and the toy sales are insane, so that probably doesn't matter. They can sell disposable Gobusters sunglasses for people to randomly throw away~



Fourze has actually really grown on me, but man, I can't with the fights. Worst Kamen Rider fights ever. I am not expecting the next Rider to be any less gimicky either. At least there's Tomoko.

Ann'y collection is bitchin', but yes games are hella easier now. At least the Souls series exists. I can beat 3 and 4. I can clear the masters in 1, 2, and 6, though. I've always had way more fun with the stages than Wily's Castles. Which is good, because I usually can't clear them.

Damn, choosing only one or two manowar songs is going to be a bitch. I've just taken one CD out of my collection (the first I bought, "The Hell of steel"), and I can't even choose which 2 songs to keep. It'll be horrible when I get to Queen. just...horrible.

I started downloading music in the 10th grade. I remember this because none of us had cd burners back then, so we'd write down songs we wanted and give the list and money for the cd to this friend of ours who had one, and 10th grade was the only year I had a class with him. It took forever to get music back then so he'd only do one person at a time. It was mostly music we didn't know how to get, back then. TV show theme songs or rare tracks and stuff like that. I never even considered it being a replacement for buying music (though I do still buy music now).

I actually have a really clear memory of what I listened to in high school, clearer than, say, my memory of what I listened to 5 or 6 years ago. I wonder if it's because I made so many mixes back then? Or maybe because I was pretty much the opposite of a recluse and associate so much music with specific people and moments. I went to shows a lot back then too, that's probably part of it. Usually at least one a week. Number one thing I miss about Detroit area is the music scene.

there were several thematic tracks i wanted to use.
the March is one of them. Others would've included that one track from The Shadow where Lamont first enters the temple.
Stargate was one of them, Ra's theme. Shadows of the Empire.

The only thing I didn't like was the human synchronization of the music.
There needs to be something powerful to remote control all the other cars at the same time to play the music.
And it wouldn't have killed them to roll down the windows slightly.
And maybe a little synchronized changing lanes with lights: high beams, low beams, blinkers, hazards.

you'll notice some change to the audio, depending how strong or light you make the removal.
which is why its better to select just the click/pop.

It's two different fonts! Up top is Copasetic (http://www.dafont.com/copasetic.font), and at the bottom is Belgrad (http://www.dafont.com/belgrad.font). I really love the W on Belgrad but it doesn't look as good small as Copasetic does.

audicity also uses FFmpeg to decode other audio formats not natively supported. Although I think this is only in the beta/rc versions.
FFmpeg is currently in the 0.9x series.
I don't know fully how it compliant the Audacity version is compared to the official releases, so updating externally might be a good idea.

But installing FLAC is a good idea for most audio editing programs.
Other ones like Adobe Audition are more finicky don't depend on direct show decoding and require a patched plugin.
Good thing FLAC is open source.

um. you'd have to find the sources in lossless: FLAC/WAV/APE/AIF/AIFF/WV/etc.

or if you don't want to do that, you can still edit in mp3 and sacrifice the quality.

i have to find any actual diagrams and references to how much data is lost.

Anyway, if I can't find my sources in FLAC, what I'll do instead is take what I have and convert it to FLAC. I'd like to imagine that doing so sort of freezes or suspends the quality of the mp3, but I have absolutely no idea if that's actually what's happening. Then I'd choose a bit rate close to or the same as the bit rate of the mp3 that I started with. Seems like going with a higher-than-original bit rate wouldn't cause that much loss of quality, but again I could be totally wrong.

going up, through the mayberry bushes and then back down again is about the same as staying down and going through the mayberry bushes without ever going up.

mp3 to mp3 is acceptable for most people.
but like a cat for some whiskas treats... i probably won't notice until you show me the package and tell me it's actually dog treats :laugh:
using ground level sources then going up and editing would be ideal for larger profile ranks, like AC3.
Audio commentaries, isolated scores, etc.
Especially if the original AC3 is at 640 (the transparent level to equalling DTS@1546).

mostly blu-ray sources should be kept on the higher grounds, even if only in AC3.


i've also yet to find some documentation and graphical representations of how much data is lost during editing and saving to different formats.

but for most purposes, the audiophile will say use lossless, everyone else will say just use the mp3's. try to keep it all the same relative bitrate.
