While The Hurt Locker does have a war serving as a backdrop, I've never considered it a war movie.

More a near-perfect action movie.

It's well known to have all sorts of inaccuracies but I like to see past that and take it as an adrenaline fueled action movie (it is by the same person who made Point Break). I nearly soiled my pants so many times through that movie. :laugh:

Norton Antivirus doesnt agree with me switching browsers, last time I switched to Chrome It disabled protection and led to my old computer's untimely demise.

it's all generic-sounding shite. even giacchino does it, though i think he has more talent in his pinky finger then hans zimmer and james horner combined. horner gets a free pass for writing STII & III though.

Even Henry Jackman pulled off some interesting ideas with the most recent X-men score.

giacchino certainly borrows a lot from the old school as well, but i don't mind that as much. his medal of honor scores are total throwbacks, and i love them for that reason. trek 09 had shades of goldsmith, horner and certainly eidelman, but it also has everything you'd expect to hear in a big-budget blockbuster score from the 2000s. his incredibles score owes a lot to the brassy barry bond scores of the 60s.

it's a joke from the podcast. they were making fun of james horner a lot in that one. but they also mention goldsmith, kamen, and williams a bit. but the difference is that horner literally takes entire sections of classical pieces and reuses them note for note, without even trying to make it his own.

Henry Jackman seems to have really stood up on his now and impressed a few times lately.

His score for Gulliver's Travels last year an unexpected surprise as was Winnie-The-Pooh this year.

...and I suspect it was mostly his work on the Kick-Ass score.

Coleman's good. I like him. He's and Jon Broxton are most grounded of the critics.

Clemmenson is hilarious though. He loves to rile up the ZImmer fanboys....and it's easy too. :laugh:
