I've been wanting to check out "Pulse," both the original and remake. Anyone have an opinion on that one?

"Thirst" is a pretty nice variation on vampire mythology, I'd recommend it. "Premonition" was interesting as well.

I'd think it's possible to fail that but still not fail in terms of they're talking about a man but he's like an objective, ya know? Like they he's a VIP they need to protect or a target for assassination or something. After all there's stuff with men that work like that and if it's ok in that instance it should in theory be ok with ladies as well.

Oh yeah, absolutely. Like I said, I don't think the Bechdel is the end all be all or anything. Some of my favorite directors frequently fail it (Nolan), and I don't think female characters should never talk to each other about men or anything like that. It's more troublesome as a pattern than it is in any individual form of media. I think a lot of chick flicks fail this with their male characters too (and probably with their females too if not for the talks about shopping and jobs at magazines).

But I really do think it's a good thing that Kamen Rider gives its supporting females so much to do! A series aimed at boys about a superhero is not necessarily the first place you'd think to find well written female characters, so it is an awesome surprise. ^____^ I bet most of the Super Sentai shows pass too, I know Shinkenger does.

The original Pulse was pretty neat. Unsettling is the best word I can think of to describe it. The remake is awful, which is too bad, because I love Kristen Bell. Almost unwatchably bad, imo.

THe original pulse is all right........nothing special. The American remake is terrible.

I heard Danny Boyle was considering a "28 Months Later." I think that's going too far. I wasn't too fond of the latter film either, the first one was perfect.

I liked the 2nd film....not as much as the first one though (a different monster all together)....and even the first one, lost it's way in the 3rd act.

I heard Cillian Murphy is considering doing the 3rd one.

Yeah, I remember thinking the first one was great until the father died...then it wandered into army shit and familiar territory. It's grown on me though, probably one of my favorite zombie flicks.

I watched a different version of "Night Of The Living Dead" by accident today (I thought i had grabbed the 1968 version online...the file title said 1968).

It's a 1990 version directed by Tom Savini, starring Tony Todd, executive produced by Captain Romero himself.

While not great, at all really, it had a few moments in it that I liked. Mostly, giving Barbara more of a Linda Hamilton/Ripley attitude, rather than being the annoying character she was in the original version.

It even had a cameo appearance from 1000 Corpses/Devil's Rejects', Bill Moseley.

a 5 out of 10 I guess.

I remember going to the first one on opening night, my buddy and I were the only ones laughing in the whole theater. Yelling out lines like "As you wish" (Princess Bride, right?) and found the general acting just plain bad.

The idea and basic idea however was great. Very simple and creepy. That bathroom is one of the best settings in mainstream horror in a long time......and the ending? both our jaws dropped at that....gotta admit....that twist was pretty impressive.

I saw 2 & 3 and stopped there. They were just getting too silly.

Cary Elwes doesn't sell me on the 7th. I really only liked that guy in the PB and Robin Hood: Men IN Tights.

New Robin Hood is kind of boring. Like his Merry Men though......Scott Grimes, Mark Addy and Kevin Durand.

I've seen all the Saws and believe me, you're not missing anything. The main reason I'll be seeing the alleged final one is for the 3D trap effects and the fact that it's the only movie coming out Halloween weekend.

Despite my better judgment, I am excited for Paranormal Activity 2, too.

I just saw Paranormal Activity the other day....it was all right, I guess.

It was better if you saw it in a packed theatre during all the hype. People were screaming, the suspense was thick in the room...one of the most enjoyable movie-going experiences I've ever had.

my best movie experience still has to be Batman '89 Opening night. It was like going to a frickin' rock show....literally. I sought out every single sharp instrument in the apartment and put it on the desk before deciding which one to have it out with. Yeah, the second one comes out soon, in time for the last movie I guess. I've played Shadow of the Colossus -- what a strange mindtrip of a game. I beat it after a time, but it felt so ethereal and unreal I almost remember it as a dream.

Oh ya that's Xbox with the pay thing. The virtual nintendo thing make he happy but also pisses me off. I'm somewhat against paying for cards with points that are converted into what games you can get, it feels like carni stuff with $5 for 5 tickets but some things range from 1-8 tickets.
