The oldest movie I got on BD, and is a huge improvement over the DVD, is 2001: A Space Odyssey. Next oldest is Batman (1989). Both movies are definitely worth owning on BD

I've only ever been stiffed once, but since I used Paypal it was quite easy to get the funds back. There is both eBay and Paypal protections that way. If you used a credit card, it is also usually really easy to dispute the transaction with the credit company itself.

Piracy would be wiped out for all the time it take a guy to rig a console working this way (probably with flash memory type cartridges) to a computer, then design an emulator.

It means the studio isn't taking it seriously. This is an experiment to see what financial and logistical issues would be associated with attempting to mount such a film. The sad thing is that the writer probably doesn't know this.
They will not be able to use the Nolan Batman. (Although it very well would be Nolan-esque.) They may not want to use the Zack Snyder Superman if it tanks. (Which it very well could, since every movie he's made since 300 has bombed.)
Without a pre-built, pre-intergrated advance continuity like The Avengers, this will be an uphill climb. Of course, for 1.2 billion dollars, you be an idiot not to at least consider your options...

Spider-Man and Wolverine are newcomers to the Avengers. I'd never heard they were in the Avengers until a month ago. Seem out of touch? 1.2 billion doesn't come from people who've read the current issues. The Avengers had a long successful run without either of them. Batman and Superman are such core members of the Justice League, they predate the League itself. (Going all the way back to the Justice Society.)
This problem effects batman particularly. In the public's mind, there are three Batmans. In order of prominence, they are Christian Bale, Michale Keaton and Adam West. Any character clearly not identifiable as one of these, (as characters, I'm not saying those actors must play them,) will put confusion in their minds. To set up any other model for such a well known character in the public's mind will consume enough screen time that it requires a film of its own.
This leads to the next problem. Dark Knight made a LOT of money. Dark Knight Rises probably won't do as well, but should make a real impact. Any reboot film will be immediately measured against Nolan's. Tough act to follow, just to be a gateway to a maybe ride the coattails of the Avengers.
For me, it's a moot point. It's too late. The turnaround time for any version of this that isn't a quickly cobbled together mess, is likely be nothing more than an also ran.

That most of the audience isn't comic book fans is sort of my point. The average person who goes to see these movies knows next to nothing about these characters. I'd like to think most people know who Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, and Peter Parker are, but even that might be generous. I think there's a lot of worrying about using the "most iconic" versions of characters who aren't really icons to non-comic readers to begin with.

They'll probably wind up recasting Batman for any film, if it happens, and most people will probably be fine with that. Really, you wouldn't even need to see him out of his cowl for a League movie, but that sort of thing might not work for a wide audience. I think you're right in your predictions for the film, but I'd see it anyways, because I'm a silly person. I'd rather see a Batman Beyond movie than anything else, but I have no idea how likely that might be.

p.s. Bats and Supes weren't real Justice Society members ;)

You might want to replace your TV before you get a PS3 just because text is practically unreadable in some games.

I play my PS3 more than anything, but that's mostly because I don't have Disgaea and Atelier, my 2 biggest time sinks, on the PSP. If you don't buy your games online, it can be hard to find PSP titles. That could be true for the PS2 too, I guess, but one of my GameStops still has a huge PS2 section.

Having a working computer is always important~ I would keep an eye out for deals because you can probably get something super cheap (for a laptop) if you do.

I just want it to play my old ps1 games on the go. Assuming Sony didn't already remove the option to stick them on the memory stick. Otherwise I only have 2 games. War of the Lions which I have played to death (would still enjoy it though probably) and Dracula X Chronicles which I only bought for the SotN port. The actual game is alright though a bit rigid like the older titles.

I have flash firmware on my memory card for playing Japanese games, it was really easy to set up. If you get a PSP I can send you what I used. Should be fine then, though I think you need an emulator or smth. Sure any site that would have them up for download would have all that too!
