This is highly improbable. If only because of the sheer, no, insane number of uploaders, whether free or paying users. They already have trouble to identify all members of militias or Criminal rings, and they rarely count more than a few hundred people, but here we're speaking of thousands if not millions of users. all using pseudonyms. they could get back at the paying users, but they need a court injonction.

In other words they'll just shut down the thing, try to have the owners found guilty while Bainwol and his friends celebrate, oblivious to the fact that some other way to share will be imagined at the same time.

The funniest thing is that I guess it would cost less to the copyright owners (and I'm appaled at the fact people still mistake Copyright and intellectual property, which are two distinct things) to imrpove their legal digital offer, lower a little their prices, etc, etc. I'm guessing they'd make more money, and have less trouble. I mean, how hard would it be for them, for every Intrada, Varese, Silvascreen, Emi, Universal, Warner or La la land release to release it also as mp3 on Amazon ?

Bottom line, these guys are a bunch of brain constipated idiots who don't know how to use technology to make money. something that even a 12-14 years old today knows to do.

Haha. =p I don't think I'm snobbish in general, really. Hard to be when your favorite things are cartoons and superheroes. The book cover thing genuinely bugs me, though. It's no big deal if I get something like that from the library but I try really hard not to buy them. It probably wouldn't phase me if it was a really pretty movie poster without the NOW A MAJOR MOTION PICTURE feces.

It's interesting, I don't think they've ever done this for comics that have become movies. Probably because in most cases, it's inspired by a lot of stuff and not one storyline. Still, it probably would translate into sales.

I don't know if you got any of my Toonami stuff but pretty much all the files were zipped into a funny named folder that only make partial sense to me. None of them got deleted except for rapidshare stuff that got old. If I keep doing that I'll be fine. Hey. Figured it would happen. Honestly, I don't give a flying fuck on Dotcom making money out of stuff that's not his as it's what Hollywood has basically done for the last 80 years. I mean there is so little imagination these days that nearly every movie is either an adaptation, a remake or a sequel. And I'm not always sure they had to pay copyrights, as I ain't sure Sherlock Holmes, John Carter or anything Lovecraft is still copyrighted. Add to that that sometime they screw the original authors (buy the book for 500.000 dollars, make hundreds of millions in profits) And their methods are no better. No, I basically agree. A lot of their behavior was ridiculous. I am really uncomfortable with some of the US's behavior here, but really, they never should have had servers in the US, they never should have paid people for uploading obviously pirated content, and they absolutely shouldn't have been letting people search for pirated stuff from their computers.

A few years back, I remember people being really careful to conceal what they were uploading. If they were uploading say, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, they'd call it ESOTSM and change the extension from avi to something else. People don't hide stuff at all anymore, myself included, and we probably should. I usually rename files after I download them anyways because I try to make file names somewhat uniform, I don't mind taking an extra step.

Talking about vampires.... I saw "The Priest" today.....
My brother said there are a lot of bad critics about it claim it as a trash and other very good ones.

My opinion...... I just love it. I tried to get why most people might not like it....Honestly I did not get it.
The only catch is the soundtrack. Cristopher Young as much to eat to make me like him. Uses and resuses his tunes too much / or uses other themes not of him. During the movie I heard a batman theme somewhere.... and another "Danny Elmanish" tune in that. Not forgetting the "Predator" tune that appeared somewhere too. But I enjoyed what he did with the choir. The only soundtracks I like of him are "The Grudge" soundtracks. It seems he is more "HIMSELF" when doing horror soundtracks. Action movie soundtracks or any other kind..... does not catch me that much.
Back to the movie. I am a Vampire thing Fan. (My life is Castlevania :D )... It was about time we get a GOOD movie of vampires and not that "Teenage vampire romantic love" over and over again. Now we also have werewolves romantic stories. I think ZOMBIE romantic stories are coming next.

I torrent a lot, but it is not blockbuster movies. Mostly foreign stuff. I've never had any issues. From what I can tell, you're in the clear as long as you don't download HBO shows or major movies. I don't remember hearing about people having issues with anything else, though that doesn't mean it's never happened. I wouldn't be surprised if people got in trouble for downloading major games. Only games I've downloaded are foreign games that were never released here.

I use Hulu sometimes, but yes, I think it is a mistake to make things more inconvenient than they have to be. I don't mind waiting a week in some cases- ie new episodes on Crunchyroll- but TV shows should really be up the day after.

Convenience is the number one reason people turn to piracy, even above wanting free shit. It's continually been demonstrated that people will pay for stuff if you make it cheap and easy to get.

It all started a card game just like how it always starts.
One guy starts talking about a movie they just finished making and another starts going on about what they're going to do next and who they're doing it with.
You can't really expect anything big to come out of these conversations. No one expected it go where it went. But it did, man.

You get everyone involved with it and then wait for these torrents to pick it up.

Next thing you know, this big cock muscle is talking to this sleazy lawyer kid and then it happens.
The Expendables hits the torrent sites, and after enough evidence is collected: BAM!! The whole internet panics.

I don't remember hearing about people having issues with anything else, though that doesn't mean it's never happened. I wouldn't be surprised if people got in trouble for downloading major games. Funny thing is...I got a DivX of the expendables. I feel a little guilty sometimes of loving that movie and waiting for the sequel. But I grew up watching these Guys. Saw Rambo 1 to 3 at 8 Years Old. The Red Scorpion around the same time. Started watching wrestling in my early teens, in other words, I was screaming like a maniac "STONE COLD !! STONE COLD !! in front of my TV. I Saw the second and third terminators in theaters. I watched predator in highschool with friends, after hijacking the videoroom during lunch time. And I managed to make a presentation in my senior year on the Matrix and its links to Descartes' Philosophy.

It all started a card game just like how it always starts.
One guy starts talking about a movie they just finished making and another starts going on about what they're going to do next and who they're doing it with.
You can't really expect anything big to come out of these conversations. No one expected it go where it went. But it did, man.
I mean, next thing you know, they started talking about how much money they made, how much they lost in revenues.
Then some poor sap in the background steps into the light and mentions this business with torrents and how his nephew is going into law, particularly copyright law so his girlfriend's kid can get into the music industry.
It all started with the best intentions, really it did.
But then this big guy throws down his cards and asks for 2 more. He leans into the light, the smoke breaking away for him.
I mean he was a real big fucker. He starts talking about wanting to do a movie. One that people have been talking about for centuries.
You get everyone involved with it and then wait for these torrents to pick it up.

Next thing you know, this big cock muscle is talking to this sleazy lawyer kid and then it happens.
The Expendables hits the torrent sites, and after enough evidence is collected: BAM!! The whole internet panics.
Thousands of people taken just like that.
And it all happened at that poker table.
The muscle who planned it with the lawyer was, none other than, Sylvester Stallone.

As far as I can tell now, with the first soundtrack, the 2nd volume and the bundles of extras Lynch released on his official site, the Fire Walk With Me soundtrack is released in it's complete form now.

I know what I am about to say may be the equivalant of sticking my dick in a beehive, but I now think that the takedown of the "Mega" sites was justified.

Before anyone says, oh thats what the government wants you to believe, I have several reasons to believe this.

They made obscene amounts off the site chain, their founder lived in a mega-estate, and the homes of the people arrested had rather expensive things like Maserattis and vintage cars. They never actually pulled anything that was copyrighted, apparently they would just put it back up later. They also payed many people for copyrighted material to host. He (Kim Dotcomm) knew what he was doing was illegal, FFS one of his cars custom plates read GUILTY.

That may be true, but I think the point that's being skipped most often is that the US ignored their own rules to go after him and take down the site.

You don't really get more virii with Torrents babydoll. at least not if you get the torrent file somewhere safe, and even less if the personn at the other side (in other word, from whom you're downloading stuff) has a good AV. But anyway the torrent file itself is pretty precise on the properties of the files englobed by the torrent. I second Utorrent. works like a charm, really easy to use (I've started using torrent only 8 months ago, took me 15 minutes to understand how it worked. as for the speed..;it depends on the seeders, how many there are...)

That's jibberish instructions for newbs.
The same manner as people saying that "cleaning your registry with CCleaner causes problems" (when in fact, it's only a clear sign that there were problems to begin with and something(s) should be uninstalled, cleaned and then re-installed).

If you go into the options and want to set the downloaded files to a separate partition (instead of the main C: drive with the OS----WHICH IS 100% ADVISABLE FOR ALL DOWNLOADS, NOT JUST TORRENTS OR DIRECT LINK SHARES), when you define the custom folders, you can close the torrent client and check on the download at a later time.


uTorrent really just downloads the parts and compiles it as a single file when it's done.
It doesn't really do all too much after that.

I torrent a lot, but it is not blockbuster movies. Mostly foreign stuff. I've never had any issues. From what I can tell, you're in the clear as long as you don't download HBO shows or major movies. I don't remember hearing about people having issues with anything else, though that doesn't mean it's never happened. I wouldn't be surprised if people got in trouble for downloading major games. i do like downloading bootleg albums...concerts, studio session outtakes and whatnot...

Zero issues here too. I stick with public ones though since I've never been invited to anything :sad: I would have terrible ratios anyway. If it goes past 1:1 it's because I fell asleep with it still running. My best was some anime I don't remember. It was a few gigs so i ran it and forgot about it for a whole weekend. Got a like 7:1 ratio.

My computer caught absolutely horrible to where it deleted several shortcuts on my desktop in addition to wanting to install "install.exe". I kept getting this error that my hard drive was damaged, and I couldn't even run any anti-virus programs, due to something in my System 32 files overloading the amount of RAM I had and forcin my PC to shut down. Wish me luck in hoping the computer fix-it place and restore everything tomorrow.

It's a nightmare, I tell ya! There are some things I didn't have backed up like my super awesome Minecraft worlds, and a couple DVD edits that I spent the second half of my Christmas break working on...

If you do the registry cleaner and notice things are going really wonky on your computer, something needs to be re-installed.
Usually if the same registry keys keep popping up in CCleaner's Registry Cleaner, that's the starting point.
Debug and search for the initial problem.

I do google searches on common keys that popup.

Windows is troublesome in that it doesn't log everything an installer does.

I imagine if people opted in to donate more often, the admins would get updates that would significantly keep Shrine in the clear.

Some forums keep material hidden if you're anon or not logged in. (TP does that).

One thing that works here, that's the most effective is the PM system.

It's a little frustrating that I can't use MU anymore. It was fastest but started to shit out in the past few months.

I'm the type of personality that won't give a shit until it actually happens.

Slow and steady wins the race. It insures she's a, not getting hurt and b, really feeling it. I believe if you just ram it in there the victim won't know what hit them and you want them to have time to realize just what you're doing to her.
