This is a weird suggestion but I actually recommend Dwayne McDuffie's run on Fantastic Four. Feel like he absolutely nailed the character of Storm and really showed the sort of stuff she was capable of. It's a shame he never got a real chance to do stuff with her character.

I often don't like Storm and T'challa together because I feel like most writers underwrite her when she's around him, but Christopher Priest always did great stuff with her when she was around and made their chemistry really believable. I'd suggest issues 25 through 30 in particular. Of Black Panther. I'm an idiot.

I know that even though Femme was a pre-existing character, in Dragon Knight they sort of combined her storyline with another, non-rider female from Ryuki. So, I feel fairly certain that if they alter a character like that they're not going to start from scratch and are just going to smoosh two characters together. I guess Hirose is just as likely a possibility.

Can actually see Amane not knowing Hajime is Chalice working on some level, even though obviously them leaving the show as is would be preferable. Something like that would probably mean they'd seriously cheapen the Leangle storyline and lessen the role of both Tiger and Shima, though. Sigh. I guess I can see it working if they massively restructured things and combined elements of Nozomi into Hajime's character too? But it doesn't seem worth it to change and rearrange so much when there's such a great story to start with.

I'm pretty sure there was a great abundance of studio interference and a lot of the dialogue sounds like it was written with the intention of it being in the trailers but the actors seemed to give it their every and I think that's where Branagh really played a part.

They have a mother's day events and multiple events where ladies get discounts or can play in booster drafts for free. I can appreciate the gesture, and I understand why they'd want to work harder to draw in female customers, but as a lady it makes me sort of uncomfortable about checking out the place!

The comic shop I go to is right on the main strip of trendy clothing stores so no one really takes notice of who goes in and out.

There's another one but it's a little out of the way on foot if you're doing a shop.

I don't have a comic shop anymore. I have a friend works in a newsagents in the city so he gets me the only DC titles they get which means I only ever get the mainstream stuff. :sad:

The DC titles are all reprint from the States. They are published by Panini over here so they have a regular supply and come out every month. Current stories are: Earth 2. Green Lantern - Secret Origin. The Flash. Batman: Life after death. Bat Woman.

All of those are from just 2 comics. 3 stories in each.

Marvel UK have their own division but again it's all reprint. I stopped getting those so don't know what stories they are running.

Forbidden Planet (http://forbiddenplanet.com/comics/) lets us order titles from over there but we have to preorder. If you miss the preorder date you miss the issue. :sad: Plus there is postage to pay.

You can't read it until you've read the first 13 but it can sit on your shelf if you want it. Art by Peter Gross, Ryan Kelly and Dean Ormston. Ormston's art is weird when it's not fully painted. Very sketchy but I like his use of shadow.

This is an interesting idea. New Blondie album (http://www.myfavouritemagazines.co.uk/blondie-panic-of-girls-classic-rock-fan-pack/) with 2 tracks that won't be on the regular release, 132 page magazine, poster, postcards and badges. Out 2 weeks before the standalone CD release date.

It's more expensive than a normal release but you get some shit that you can't download.

Are the record companies finally pulling their empty heads out of their square asses and realising we'll buy their stuff if they make it worthwhile?

I'd like to see more like this in the future. Something I'd be interested in actually buying.

Wow. This has to be the best Gokaiger episode yet. Heck, this is one of the greatest things I've ever watched. Somehow they managed to put a heartfelt storyline, suitless fight scenes, first appearances of many new ranger keys, and a badass mech all in one episode. For me, he was hard to like at first, but he has so much growth as a character throughout the series. And, I like the role he represents in everything.

Yeah, I agree. Watching card stuff in Ryuki is very rarely fun for me, which is a shame because I love hearing SWORD VENT-O. FINAL VENT-O. The fights are almost always better for me in the moments where they just forget about the cards. There are way more of those later on too.

Makes sense! I was kind of surprised you were starting it already but I figured the Net Movie had you interested. Going back and watching something at a different time makes a huge difference for me, sometimes. IIRC Ryuki doesn't start off super strong, though. Really gets going for me once more riders show up.

Plan on making a lot more of these, I always save them when I see ones other people made. Sometimes they go on my fridge! Any tips and suggestions are awesome, since this is my first one.

There's way less CG in the later episodes. I agree that it's just horrible. I was talking with someone about the really bad CG in Ryuki recently and they acted like I was being crazy, so glad to see I wasn't being overly hard on it. It's really annoying but it's not an issue for long.

Secretary was in Den-O and 555 too! Toku peeps must really like her.



Is it me or does Japan not do CG stuff as good as America? I've seen clips of the live action Death Note and Ryuk looked kinda not right plus in Godzilla Final Wars the switch form Rubber suit to CG on the monsters was way too apparent.

They do it perfectly service-able now. Hell, Agito did an amazing job. Never thought about it even once like I did with Kuuga.

So....they did better effects in series before Ryuki.... And much better today, obviously.

to be fair, their budgets probably aren't as big as ours, give or take.

They do also tend to have better people stunts and hand 2 hand fights.

Posted it on /m/ and people said they'd have to watch Blade now. ^___^ Really love that arc, it's hard to believe how short it is sometimes! Made a big impact on me, for sure.

I think the specific problem with Ryuki is just that there's SO MUCH CG for a while, and it was way too much for the budget that the show had. Imagine having 15 different rider suits cut into the budget as well!

Godzilla Final Wars is awesome. Same monster designer as W! CG wasn't on the level of a big movie here, but I didn't think it was terrible. Nine times out of ten I'd rather see rubber monster suits and real effects over CG anyways. There's some very good CG at the beginning of W, and I like some of the CG in Gokaiger. I actually don't mind CG in anime either, if it's not overused. Like Tiger and Bunny type stuff.

I guess mostly the issue is when it gets overused, and not that it's used in the first place.

The belt cg is so much better in Dragon Knight. Even if led to a shitty toy. Of course the Ryuki belt is lackluster to begin with. It occupies the same territory as Blade and Garren's (looks wise, the cg on their belts forming is sweet). It's the deck holders that bring any flair to it at all. Mutsuki's is technically bad, but at least it's pretty ;;

Makes absolutely no sense. Kuuga's belt animation is fine, Agito's is AMAZING.

The pacing was way off but I didn't care it was just so fuckin' enjoyable. I wish a channel would pick Godzilla up again. sci-fi, tcm, & amc all used to play them but then 9-11 and all those types of movies got pulled and they must have let the license run out.

We also learned that one of the big uses for the time train is that the passengers are people who've gotten displaced in time but have not dispersed in time completely. Seeing as how there where quite a few people in the dinning car at the start of the show and now around ep. 35 there's only been the piano man I guess that mean's the gang's hard work has paid off. Another thing about that episode is the fact that a bunch of people died in the past and disappeared in the present time but once the monster got killed up they came back. Does that mean every person we see get killed in the past attacks comes back as long as the imagin is destroyed?

While I'm on imagins these last few have gotten much stronger plus they're 2 or 3 of them at once. Seeing multi monster fights makes me happy. Why the Lord Zeds of all these shows don't just save up a bunch of creatures and attack all at once (aside form production cost of the show) is beyond me so seeing the bad guys use team work makes them even more of a threat.
I wonder if why Momo, Kin, Ura, & Ryotaros can't make solid bodies like Deneb has in the real world. Deneb means well and has a pretty strong finger bang but he's a big softy and not a real fighter like everyone else is. I hope there's a pez like Deneb candy holder that squats down and when you press his head down candy comes out of his crotch.

Personally I think the train fighting looks pretty stupid and it's super obvious that it's meant to sell the train toy. The thing shoots red plastic balls for Christ sakes. Plus the giant monster forms are kinda random.
