there are great collections of countless artists performing on peel's show. many of these sessions have been reissued on cd

my personal faves are stereolab, beatles, bowie, can, pavement...fuck the list goes on and on. often the peel versions crushed the album versions like grapes...this is especially true with the can and stereolab peel sessions

Live songs question- would a single track that combines multiple live performances be acceptable? It's not something I put together, they released it on an album proper. If you're unsure I can send you the song. The editing is actually really good, you might not even be able to tell it's multiple shows if you didn't know.

Fuck is a cash-in that was probably bought by their newer fans. It's fluff. Bullet is a concert film of sorts. Fuck is shit.

Also, a format update: I removed the total updates for each month and changed the lists for months with updates to numbered lists, so use those to determine the number of updates a month I had. I kept the total updates for the year, of course.

Mine was 2 discs.

15 songs each.

So, technically it was 3 volumes on 2 discs I suppose.

mine was just shy of eighty minutes and by chance it was an even 20 songs...so it fit perfectly on one disc. the hardest thing was chopping it down to fit...

funny thing is, they weren't all technically leftover songs. many were, but a lot were songs that i was listening to and thought, "damn, this woulda worked great on one of my 10 songs, wish i'd been listening to it then"

but i guarantee the leftovers set i do for this round is gonna be epic and way longer.

also think for fairness' sake i'm gonna delete the 2nd covers mix from 10 songs and move it on over to sts comps instead.. same for the soundtrack mix that i already made.. it wasn't road themed but it is just too damn good to not share.




I'd delete the guilty pleasure albums I downloaded but I half-heartedly plan to Nut them sometime.

Young Knight's Travels



(1) Confusion and chaos reign in the kingdom of Drex. Its landlocked geography and desirable resources lead to constant warfare. Civil unrest grows as food is scarce and supplies are saved for the rich, nobility and soldiers rations leaving many to scrape whatever they can for themselves. Beg, borrow or steal to live.

(2) Our protaganist is showing his proficiency at the 3rd option. He is a homeless peasant boy who has long forgotten his name and whether he had a family as the knowledge didn't help him survive.

(3) A boy of noble descent has eluded his caretakers and found his way to the market to catch a breather from his suffocating life where he witnesses a street urchin pickpocketing unsuspecting shoppers and follows him out of curiosity to the theif's hideaway.

(4) After some initial hesitance the two begin conversing and agree to meet again the next day. This continues despite the noble's caretakers disproving of him escaping them everyday. The noble teaches his school lessons to the peasant such as basic reading and writing and romantic stories of honor discipline and courage. The peasant teaches the noble the only things he can; panhandling, con jobs, pickpocketing and how to survive no matter the cost.

(5) On a daily excursion to the market, marauders come and ravage the place. Raping, pillaging and taking captives to sell as slaves. The 2 boys escape through the winding streets and alleys, but they become separated. The peasant goes back to look for his friend causing him to be captured as well. He endures the savage cruelty long enough to escape. He makes his way to a neighboring kingdom.

(6) He enlists as a soldier just to get a meal, but using what he was taught by his friend he makes his way through the ranks becoming a Knight of the kingdom of Lerre. He is given the task of hiring some squires and travelling the country to help and protect the citizenry gaining fame for his many successful adventures under the name given to him by the King, Laskowice.

(7) News of trouble takes him to an immigrant's tavern where some drunken thugs are harrassing patrons and staff. With the exotic music of the band playing, Laskowice subdues them easily without even drawing his weapon. Some escape promising reinforcements and the involvement of their leader.

Laskowice inquires about them and finds their band of rogues has been gaining power and threatening townships under the leadership of a marauder named Daevas. Seeing an opportunity to do his sworn duty, he tracks the thugs to their hideaway in an abandoned mountain temple.

(8) Epic battle ensues between the rogues and Laskowice's squires while Laskowice battles Daevas himself. Laskowice's sword and shield strain under the blows of Daevas' obsidian zweihander and scrape against his worn but still strong marauders armor. The duel moves outside to a snow covered terrace where Laskowice strikes a mortal blow on Daevas.

(9) Laskowice recites his oath as he removes Daevas' helmet to look at the face of the man he is to pass judgement on and is surprised to find the face of his old childhood friend, lined with scars and facial hair yet still recognizable. Daevas asks the reason for his hesitance and Laskowice removes his helmet. Laskowice asks how Daevas came to be here and he explains that the raid that day they were separated in the market was just a diversion for a coup d'�tat against the government and nobility that left him destitute. He survived using the skills Laskowice taught him eventually joining a rogue band under a new name. Laskowice is prepared to let him go, but Daevas shrugs it off saying he has already done his duty. Daevas takes Laskowice's hand and says he is glad to see his friend again. (Goes to black a la the end of Heat)
