So it took about an hour to convert a short 2 and a half minute clip of Event Horizon to a reasonably smaller bitrate to do some editing for Event Horizon (Keeping the aspect ratio, "FILM" frame rate, lower bit rates (7-10Mbps, at which point my laptop will not be able to play it suiteably for editing in Sony Vegas, and little to no artifacts or quality loss), I think I can find it invariably pleasing.
The result turned very well, and also considering that Even Horizon a million times shorter in running time than Michael Mann's Heat... this shouldn't take 40 hours to convert all the chapters in the movie for Sony Vegas 1080~ needs...

Shan't be too long before I can work something for Silent Hill.

On this note, while I have Event Horizon broken down into chapters, this shall give me an adequate window of opportunity to create several gifs, including, but not limited to, IU's "I am home"

PS: Working with original Blurays of these. So original bitrate is astronomical and near impossible to play back at a reasonable speed on any computer/laptop I have unless the bitrate was dropped down to "eye" level (eye level being no significant quality loss that can be registered by the naked eye).

I picked back up on Skyward Sword. Went through another Demon Lord Ghirahim boss fight....... omg this guy..... DIS guy.......


Doggy was kind of a funny thing. Noticed a little dog running though the street so I went out to see where it went. Me and a couple other people were trying to wrangle it in before it got squished in the street. It ended up hiding underneath a parked car and sat there and barked at us. We surrounded the car and I was finally able to gain it's trust by feeding it some cheese. Got lucky that she didn't decide to rip into us. Finally got it out from under the car and took it inside for a bit while waiting for the service department to come get her. I was going to give her more cheese, so I took off a small amount and offered her another bite with one hand and she snatched the entire slice out of my other hand :laugh: She ate, drank, then pooped on the floor :laugh: Took a piece of rope and made a leash out of it and took her outside while we waited. A bit old and blind in one eye, but there was NO lack of energy. She had me running back and forth with her. I swear, you can gain any dog's trust with a piece of cheese. She was ready to love me for the rest of time. She tuckered me out :laugh: Just the sweetest thing once she stopped being scared.

Those are as cheap as decent noise cancelling goes though. Anything still worth your time only goes up in price. It might be worth the investment.

I have noise-cancelling headphones, but I rarely use them because they make me motion sick. I didn't know that they could even do this until I got them, started getting dizzy and nauseous when I tried to watch cartoons and went to Google to figure what was wrong with me. :laugh: I can watch stuff for about 15 minutes without them bugging me. If I take periodic breaks it's fine too. Very strange.

I've sworn NEVER to use Chronopost again. problem is that anything bought from outside of the european union and of a value superior to 45 euros is automatically handled by them, unless there are instructions joined to have it handled by the regular mail service. So if I ever decide to go on a buying spree on Lalaland or Intrada's website, I'll have to ask them to add a note so that the package.

I think a successful working mobile device should be had before such statements can be made.

Most of those iPads, Blackberry Playbooks, and any other tablets aren't exactly powerful enough or well equipped to handle most daunting tasks of a PC.
They are absolutely limited in both capability and capacity. And we're not talking just GB or TB... We're talking about the evolution of technology. Which is much more than a mere compact device. The software and the variations are completely ignored. While most can play the revolutionary codec of x264/h264, it still limits it down to file extension, file containers and, at the very best, basic settings at that.

There have been many out there in multitudes of forums that have tested their own favorite settings against generic, okay-to-the-non-trained-eye and have found that the tablets suffer from a lack of complete and advanced playback settings. Change one feature that can compress a movie into a smaller file without significant loss in visual quality and the tablet has no idea what's going on.

This very juvenile and aphlaesque generation of tablets is far from turning the old world of PC into a post-apocalyptic era for PC users.

If they have the audacity to sling such hasty words, they should at least release a product that can be completely hacked and customizable to remove current restrictions and limitations as what you can really do with the tablet. It's genetically an offspring of a cell phone from today and one of those over-sized clunky cell phones when they were first invented. With cell phones, at least, they do have methods of unlocking the techology to allow for greater improvements. /rant

Sorry for such a late reply Sparktank, was hospitalised the day after I made that ME3 post and was only released from said hospital last night. Some say that the majority of the game (the first 90% is great etc) only let down by a bullshit ending, where you have three choices which at first start out differently, but end the same damn way with only cosmetic differences... all in a vain attempt by Project lead Casey Hudson and new lead writer Mac Walters (Because the previous main writer, Drew Karpshyn, was fired iirc) to stroke their epeens and offer a 'Artistic and Philosophical' ending, as well as make pretty much all of the choices made by the player in the first two games (which Casey swore) would carry over and have 'major' consequences in the third and final installment of Shepard's story. I'll list two here as I honestly can't be bothered writing out a full essay... and I wouldn't on principle.

Choice 1: Saving or Killing the Rachnii Queen in Mass Effect. If you kill her, a clone of her is found in ME3, thereby making her whole involvement rather superficial.

Choice 2: Destroying or Saving the Collector Base at the end of Mass Effect 2. Choosing to destroy the base has no effect at all, being that the equipment and the final boss of ME2 are recovered and used in the Cerberus base to power it (as ell as biotech Cerberus troopers).

Both choices are rendered moot by what happened with them in ME3. With the ending script leaked in November, Casey and Mac took over and fucked it up...

Two points: During the final 'rush' towards the beam of light to the Citadel, Shepard, his/her squad and the combined ground forces of the Alliance (Humans, Turians, Krogans, Asari, Quarian, Elcor, Volus etc etc) were attacked by the final villain of ME2, the Reaper known as Harbinger. After a blast from its cannons, only Shepard survives (Officially from BioWare your two squadmates are killed by Harbinger) who is almost stopped by the 'savior' known as Marauder Shields:



But, it takes only one shot from the sidearm Shepard has to defeat the 'Savior'. After more BS on the Citadel, Martin Sheen/The Illusive Man reveals his twisted plan to control the Reapers and explains it all in true mad villain style until Shepard executes him. Shepard eventually succumbs to the pain wracking their body and is transported to the top of the Citadel... where the 'Starchild' is waiting:



Thus begins another deus ex machina ending to try and justify why the Reapers are doing what they are doing... to save all organics from death at the hands of synthetics... by killing organics at the hands of synthetics (which caused the following pic to go viral):



I honestly can't be bothered going into any more detail, as it's literally making me want to purge my stomach of my breakfast I've just consumed...

As I often state, if I want to play a multiplayer RPG...I gather friends around a table. That's probably why games like KOTOR, Fallout or the infinity engine games (baldur's gate and co) will always, imho, be the best "videogame rpgs".

In other words, I call bullshit on that multiplayer thing too. if you can't immerse the player in the universe and have to resort to the multiplayer trump card, you failed your game design.

Because I still have to find a game where I can totally improvise both my actions and answers, and go in a totally unexpected solution). Diablo III seems closer to the rpg concept. but still too much limitations and too much combat to be truly called an RPG.

I may be talking out of my ass, though. I've only marginally played Diablo II. as in "Twice, for a combined total of under an hour".

I'll give you that, but the game's skill tree setups and stats are very deep. At least for MP

MP is far harder than SP and if you choose the wrong skills or attributes, then death will come quickly.

You should do yourself a favor and get the Complete set. They still sell the thing at the retail stores (comes with the game, expansion, and its huge bloody guide).

Finished Kotor today. french dub and translation are horrible. excellent story, cool characters, except Malak who really need a new tailor. only problem: the final boss, Malak, is dead easy. Heck, I had more troubles with his troops than with him. still, an excellent game, but damn is it buggy on Win7. seems easier to finish as a bad guy than the sequel though.

As for Diablo II...I'll try. I think I saw the game recently, but I still have to buy again a few games lost years ago. among which the first two call of duty. that and a few GOG games.

Most (if not all) keyboards have a button that says prtsc or some other abbreviation that stands for Print Screen. Hit it and then open up a Paint document and do Paste, or hit Ctrl+V. If you don't have Paint for whatever reason, you can download any number of screen capturing programs. I would recommend Shup.
