It was used in GI Joe for the training montage but never made a soundtrack release for that movie.

Watching this review of Prime Wheeljack I'm kind of struck that I'm not super keen on the designs, in general. I wanted Starscream, but even he matches the aesthetic. It's just sort of blocky and fugly. Some movie designs are better, to be frank. I guess that says it all.

Never bothered to get past the first episode of the show, iirc, anyway.

if you put aside the monstruosity they committed with deapool, the wolverine movie has one very good point. Liev Schreiber is an incredible Sabertooth. Just for that I'm happy this movie was made.

I heard Prime got a lot better, but I haven't been watching it. I'm probably too hung up on aesthetics. I think it's just because I loved the Animated designs so so much.

Deadpool wasn't really the character we know until Joe Kelly started writing him anyways. He used to be a really obvious rip-off of Deathstroke. He still is, really, but his personality is totally different, so it doesn't matter.

It's difficult at first but after some practice it gets pretty fun to describe.

I haven't done much of it recently but for my reviews on The Clock I had A LOT of fun describing sound.

i'd never reviewed a score before the cuckoo clock. it was harder than i thought it would be. i basically said 'sounds like this or that movie and this part has some godfather style trumpets you'd hear in a crime drama...'

i haven't listened to any scores in a few weeks but i would like to do one for the clock in february.

Liev definitely kicked all forms of ass and it's a bit difficult to watch the original movie because of it. Sabretooth was such a cardboard cut-out lackey and there's no way Liev ended up like that.

Double edged sword with prequels. Yeah, it made the character a 1000x better, but now we have a "current" version of the character that doesn't match up.

I don't like that they got in the routine of making prequels, even if there are a handful of good ones. The Star Wars trilogy exemplifies everything that can go wrong.

Silent Hill Origins focuses so much more on Travis instead of Alessa. The Alessa bits are so miniscule and basically rehash-y of the stuff that happens in 1 that it doesn't detract and there isn't much to fuck up. You have a cameo from a character in 1 and a very simple set up to where an entirely new protagonist just happens to be led along (in very minor ways) by a younger version of an established character.

Alessa needs help, enlists Travis, but never overshadows his own story.

The Godfather II was a prequel of sorts.

X-men: 1st Class, The Temple Of Doom, Rise Of The Planet Of The Monkeys, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly and Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.

That's it.

eliminate the last 3 planet of the apes films (all prequels to the first 2) and replace them with rise of, then you have the perfect apes trilogy already.

godfather 2 is weird how it's 2 seperate films going on simultaneously. it shouldn't work but coppola did it flawless. i thing GF II is way superior to the first film.

I think prequels work for me when they're able to tell interesting stories that the pre-existing properties weren't able to. Like Fire Walk With Me- Laura could only be developed as a character through other people's memories of her in Twin Peaks, and that's why giving her her own story worked so well. In Watchmen, everyone got pretty complete stories, with the possible exception of Laurie, who I thought was a bit underdeveloped. The prequels are going to be rehashing stuff we've read from one of the best writers in the business.

Those are still some fantastic creative teams, though. At least they'll look great.

The problem with the star wars prequels is that it completely spoils one of the greatest moment in movie history. they killed the impact of the revelation made by vader to luke in ep. 5. that alone should qualify Lucas for the gas chamber.

Unlike every other Metal Gear Solid game, there is actually only one part where stealth is absolutely essential. It is probably the most actiony of all the series, but you have to deal with the consequences of getting shot. No one likes bleeding out due to the lack of bandages or your own malpractice of treating wounds.

I need to get Equilibrium on the Japanese Blu-Ray version.

Apparenlty, the overall ratings for the many varied versions start with Japan being #1 to get.

#1 Japan. Best video quality transfer. No DNR, edge enhancement, etc. Proper Aspect Ratio (2.39). Dolby TrueHD 5.1.
#2 Holland. Although suffers poor picture, it was given #2 because of it's proper aspect ratio (2.39).
#3 Canada :awsm: Although the picture quality is better than Holland, UK or US, the aspect ratio is incorrect (1.78). But the audio is identical to Japan but in a different format: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.

And then the rest are from UK, US, and Canada. Poor video transfer, no special features, audio is in stereo only, improper aspect ratio.

I almost bought the Steelbook version of Equilibrium here in teh canadas. BUT it seems to be identical to the double-pack feature I bought here in the canadas that has both Equilibrium and Renaissance

I won't count Holland as #2 as the video quality far outweighs the aspect ratio. tomato/poh-tay-toh

Mainly the reason there so many versions is because of the things they made him cut out of the normal thing and various mistakes made during filming.

The Directors Cut is a director's cut in name only, it is said he wasnt really involved in it.

Final Cut removed the Ford narration (which both Ford and Scott hated), visible wires on the spinner ships, contunity error.

The Final Cut contains the following differences (in order of appearance) from the 1992 Director's Cut:
1.The fireballs in the opening refinery shot are correctly synchronized with the associated light play on the smokestacks. Some of these had been off-sync in earlier versions.
2.The sound effect for the close-up fireball during the opening sequence has been changed.
3.The close-up of an eye overlooking the Hades landscape is no longer the static image seen in previous versions. The eye's pupil now reacts to the fireball and the eyelids move realistically. Also, the reflection of the cityscape below appears to move ever so slightly.
4.The shot of Deckard waiting to eat at the White Dragon has been shortened, its editing reminiscent of the workprint version of the shot.
5.The cables lifting Gaff's police spinner are no longer plainly visible. Cables were also removed from another shot of a spinner late in the film, just before Deckard enters Sebastian's apartment building.
6.In addition to English the voices on police radio during Gaff's and Deckard's flight to the police headquarters can be heard speaking German, Japanese and Swedish.
7.A repeated visual effects shot showing the city outside Gaff's Spinner has been adjusted very slightly: The once-obvious radar dish has been removed in the second use of the shot.
8.As Deckard enters Bryant's office, Bryant's statement "I've got four skinjobs walking the streets" is no longer obviously a spliced-in re-recording.
9.Bryant's line "One of them got fried running through an electrical field" is changed to "Two of them..." to remove the numerical inconsistency later on.
10.Bryant adds a new line about Leon being able to "lift 400 pound atomic loads all day and night." This is from the workprint.
11.A new cityscape horizon has been added to the shot of Gaff's Spinner coming in for a landing at the Tyrell Corporation.
12.Additional Spinner air traffic has been added in the distance outside the large window of Tyrell's conference room.
13.When Gaff and Deckard first appear at Leon's apartment, the landlord now says "Kowalski," another small bit originally from the workprint.
14.A background behind Batty when he is first introduced speaking to Leon has been changed and the thumb on his shoulder has been removed. As the shot was taken from a later scene, this has now been corrected to appear as if Batty is actually in the phone booth as Leon finds him.
15.The matte painting establishing the cityscape down the street from the Bradbury Building has been adjusted for improved realism, including fixing the perspective of the Pan-Am logo on one animated billboard.
16.The original full-length version of the unicorn dream has been restored. This is a much different version than the one that appeared in the Director's Cut, and has never been in any version seen by the public prior to this one. Deckard is shown to be awake; previously he was asleep or nearly asleep.
17.The Unicorn's horn has been digitally stabilized to minimize the unrealistic wobble of the horn appliance seen previously.
18.The sequence at the fish booth now shows Deckard leaving.
19.Deckard's conversation with the snake merchant Abdul Ben Hassan has been altered so that the dialogue is no longer out of sync; Ford's son, Ben, lip-synched the spoken dialog and his mouth was digitally placed over his father's.
20.A shot of the busy crowds in the streets was restored. Immediately after that, a shot of two strippers wearing hockey goalie masks was restored. Finally, there's a shot of Deckard talking to another police officer just prior to Deckard entering the Snake Pit. These three shots had previously appeared in slightly different form in the workprint version.
21.During Deckard's pursuit of Zhora, Joanna Cassidy's face has been digitally superimposed over that of the stunt double, Lee Pulford. This scene was re-filmed specifically for the Final Cut. Although great effort had been undertaken to replace the stunt double face with Cassidy's, the tan-colored protective suit Pulford wore to protect against glass cuts is still visible.
22.A scar on Deckard's face after his "retirement" of Zhora has been removed. Originally, the scene in which Deckard meets Bryant after retiring Zhora was to take place after his encounter with Leon, explaining the scar. This was done prior to the removal of the "sixth replicant", creating a continuity error. Due to the re-ordering, the scar was always present before Deckard had actually received it.
23.When Batty confronts Tyrell, he says, "I want more life, father"; this is from the workprint version, an alternate take intended for�but never used�in television broadcasts of the film, as opposed to the original line, "I want more life, fucker." The line also has a noticeably deeper tonal quality than the previous versions.
24.After killing Tyrell, Batty says "I'm sorry Sebastian. Come. Come." In the original he merely approached the frightened Sebastian. This is also from the workprint.
25.As Deckard moves through Sebastian's apartment, the once-obvious shadows of the camera crew have been digitally removed from the back wall.
26.The fight between Pris and Deckard is partly altered in the Final Cut; some small part fell away. The inserted part is from the international release from 1982.
27.After Deckard has shot Pris the first time, a second shot is inserted prior to the second one from the Director's Cut (which is now the third); all three shots were also originally part of the international release from 1982.
28.When Batty puts the nail into his hand after Batty and Deckard had fought in the bathroom, he pushes it through and the nail is shown coming out of his hand on the top.
29.As Deckard climbs up the roof, Batty was digitally placed into the open window, because he was missing there between two scenes.
30.Deckard does not wander around the roof as long as in the Director's Cut.
31.As Deckard flees Batty, the matte painting with a TDK neon sign has been cleaned-up a bit to look more realistic, and the TDK sign itself has been added to a subsequent shot for better continuity.
32.All the violent scenes in the International Cut that were deleted in the US theatrical release and in the Director's Cut�including Tyrell's death, the confrontation between Deckard and Pris, and the nail through Batty's bleeding hand�are restored to the Final Cut.
33.After Batty releases the dove, it now flies up into a dark rainy sky instead of a clear blue sky. Also, the original building (the undressed side of a soundstage) has been replaced with a more appropriate retrofit apartment building. The background has also been enhanced with a cluster of circa 2019 buildings more in keeping with the film's dark futuristic setting.

Mainly the reason there so many versions is because of the things they made him cut out of the normal thing and various mistakes made during filming.

The Directors Cut is a director's cut in name only, it is said he wasnt really involved in it.

Final Cut removed the Ford narration (which both Ford and Scott hated), visible wires on the spinner ships, contunity error.

The Final Cut contains the following differences (in order of appearance) from the 1992 Director's Cut:
1.The fireballs in the opening refinery shot are correctly synchronized with the associated light play on the smokestacks. Some of these had been off-sync in earlier versions.
2.The sound effect for the close-up fireball during the opening sequence has been changed.
3.The close-up of an eye overlooking the Hades landscape is no longer the static image seen in previous versions. The eye's pupil now reacts to the fireball and the eyelids move realistically. Also, the reflection of the cityscape below appears to move ever so slightly.
4.The shot of Deckard waiting to eat at the White Dragon has been shortened, its editing reminiscent of the workprint version of the shot.
5.The cables lifting Gaff's police spinner are no longer plainly visible. Cables were also removed from another shot of a spinner late in the film, just before Deckard enters Sebastian's apartment building.
6.In addition to English the voices on police radio during Gaff's and Deckard's flight to the police headquarters can be heard speaking German, Japanese and Swedish.
7.A repeated visual effects shot showing the city outside Gaff's Spinner has been adjusted very slightly: The once-obvious radar dish has been removed in the second use of the shot.
8.As Deckard enters Bryant's office, Bryant's statement "I've got four skinjobs walking the streets" is no longer obviously a spliced-in re-recording.
9.Bryant's line "One of them got fried running through an electrical field" is changed to "Two of them..." to remove the numerical inconsistency later on.
10.Bryant adds a new line about Leon being able to "lift 400 pound atomic loads all day and night." This is from the workprint.
11.A new cityscape horizon has been added to the shot of Gaff's Spinner coming in for a landing at the Tyrell Corporation.
12.Additional Spinner air traffic has been added in the distance outside the large window of Tyrell's conference room.
13.When Gaff and Deckard first appear at Leon's apartment, the landlord now says "Kowalski," another small bit originally from the workprint.
14.A background behind Batty when he is first introduced speaking to Leon has been changed and the thumb on his shoulder has been removed. As the shot was taken from a later scene, this has now been corrected to appear as if Batty is actually in the phone booth as Leon finds him.
15.The matte painting establishing the cityscape down the street from the Bradbury Building has been adjusted for improved realism, including fixing the perspective of the Pan-Am logo on one animated billboard.
16.The original full-length version of the unicorn dream has been restored. This is a much different version than the one that appeared in the Director's Cut, and has never been in any version seen by the public prior to this one. Deckard is shown to be awake; previously he was asleep or nearly asleep.
17.The Unicorn's horn has been digitally stabilized to minimize the unrealistic wobble of the horn appliance seen previously.
18.The sequence at the fish booth now shows Deckard leaving.
19.Deckard's conversation with the snake merchant Abdul Ben Hassan has been altered so that the dialogue is no longer out of sync; Ford's son, Ben, lip-synched the spoken dialog and his mouth was digitally placed over his father's.
20.A shot of the busy crowds in the streets was restored. Immediately after that, a shot of two strippers wearing hockey goalie masks was restored. Finally, there's a shot of Deckard talking to another police officer just prior to Deckard entering the Snake Pit. These three shots had previously appeared in slightly different form in the workprint version.
21.During Deckard's pursuit of Zhora, Joanna Cassidy's face has been digitally superimposed over that of the stunt double, Lee Pulford. This scene was re-filmed specifically for the Final Cut. Although great effort had been undertaken to replace the stunt double face with Cassidy's, the tan-colored protective suit Pulford wore to protect against glass cuts is still visible.
22.A scar on Deckard's face after his "retirement" of Zhora has been removed. Originally, the scene in which Deckard meets Bryant after retiring Zhora was to take place after his encounter with Leon, explaining the scar. This was done prior to the removal of the "sixth replicant", creating a continuity error. Due to the re-ordering, the scar was always present before Deckard had actually received it.
23.When Batty confronts Tyrell, he says, "I want more life, father"; this is from the workprint version, an alternate take intended for—but never used—in television broadcasts of the film, as opposed to the original line, "I want more life, fucker." The line also has a noticeably deeper tonal quality than the previous versions.
24.After killing Tyrell, Batty says "I'm sorry Sebastian. Come. Come." In the original he merely approached the frightened Sebastian. This is also from the workprint.
25.As Deckard moves through Sebastian's apartment, the once-obvious shadows of the camera crew have been digitally removed from the back wall.
26.The fight between Pris and Deckard is partly altered in the Final Cut; some small part fell away. The inserted part is from the international release from 1982.
27.After Deckard has shot Pris the first time, a second shot is inserted prior to the second one from the Director's Cut (which is now the third); all three shots were also originally part of the international release from 1982.
28.When Batty puts the nail into his hand after Batty and Deckard had fought in the bathroom, he pushes it through and the nail is shown coming out of his hand on the top.
29.As Deckard climbs up the roof, Batty was digitally placed into the open window, because he was missing there between two scenes.
30.Deckard does not wander around the roof as long as in the Director's Cut.
31.As Deckard flees Batty, the matte painting with a TDK neon sign has been cleaned-up a bit to look more realistic, and the TDK sign itself has been added to a subsequent shot for better continuity.
32.All the violent scenes in the International Cut that were deleted in the US theatrical release and in the Director's Cut—including Tyrell's death, the confrontation between Deckard and Pris, and the nail through Batty's bleeding hand—are restored to the Final Cut.
33.After Batty releases the dove, it now flies up into a dark rainy sky instead of a clear blue sky. Also, the original building (the undressed side of a soundstage) has been replaced with a more appropriate retrofit apartment building. The background has also been enhanced with a cluster of circa 2019 buildings more in keeping with the film's dark futuristic setting.

I hated the the Theatrical version, but the Final Cut won me over easily.

Be nice, but Im pretty sure that the original film is decayed or something by now.

I think it was actually the International Cut on Netfix, because all the violent parts it said was cut in the US release were there in full detail.

I've been here all day and digging through the blogger forums to figure out why I can't leave comments.
I've tried all their supposed solutions, but one. The only one I haven't tried is switching from embedded box to pop-up or full page since that would affect everybody.
This has been a problem apparently since before May 2011 and they still haven't fixed it. I know Google has great facilities, but get your asses out of the on site gym or cafeteria and fix this shit already.

That's probably bullshit since I remember hims saying on a DVD that he keeps all footage just encase he want's to re-do stuff for future releases. Hell we keep getting a new Tupac album, lost King Kong scene, & alternate cut of metropolis every ten years I don't see why he can't restore Star Wars. Just imagine a Criterion Collection edition of Star Wars. And not "Episode IV" it just says "Star Wars" on the cover. I'd like to see a Ralph McQuarrie painting as the cover.
