I upload all my nutshell pictures from the PC so I can rename them.
Then I throw them all into a folder in case blogger ever shits the bed and they need re-upped. There are 77 so far. :shock:

Been busting my ass trying to find a place for the stuff that came out of my grandmothers house. That's why I've not been online in about a week.

My parent's house was never the most organized place but after taking in all of grandma's stuff it's a bump hole. Then grandpa died so that's added to it but we finally had a yard sale and got a big hole in there and I hope some more work can get done before anything else gets put in there.

That seems to work with Windows 7 64 bit, I only checked a few boards and the only problems seem to be with sound card drivers, which is something I should be okay with, realtek HD drivers are easily come by.

I might try that sometime. I'm thinking of buying a second hand laptop from a friend and I'd fill it with anything and everything, so my desktop can remain free of clutter. If I can get him to give it to me for a good price I'll ask you about configuring that emu.

I started watching Silence Of The Lambs on AMC this morning......feck.

That movie is so good. It's filled with so much dread, depression and creepiness. It's near perfection. Even on TV.

It's big mess, me thinks.

It reeks of so much studio interference and last second script rewrites and reshoots.

It's based on Alex Garland's book which is quite good. Garland writes good stuff.

So I don't know what happened there.

It's like Boyle set out to make a different movie than what the book is. He paid he no attention to the source material or fucked it up enough that it's nothing like what Garland had envisioned or set out to do.
ala Natural Born Killers. Then after Boyle messed up the book, the studio messed BOyle's vision too. :sad:

Sometimes that works out for the better, like Psycho or The Shining, but in this case it just falls flat on it's face.

He walked out on Raimi in the middle of Spidey 2.

Young came in and finished the film but wasn't given co-composing credit for one reason or another.

I guess Elfman wasn't ready to work with Raimi again, so I don't actually think Raimi or Elfman even spoke to each other about 3. He did however give a few pointers to Young about his previously written themes and orchestrations I believe.

I wish Raimi would stick to Young.

They work so well together compared to Elfman & Raimi.

Young wrote "The Gift", "Spidey 3" and "Drag Me To Hell" and they all kicked ass.

Elfman wrote "Darkman", "A Simple Plan" & 2 Spidey movies which were all right....we'll see how they fare with "OZ" though. That has potential to be another classic Elfman.

Raimi got a great score out of Silvestri for "The Quick & The Dead" though. :D :D :D

....and I am ashamed to say I've never heard the Poledouris/Raimi collaboration. :sad: :erm:

i think young had a better handle on spidey than elfman ever did, though elfman still wrote a classic theme. but young's villain themes were bettter than anything elfface wrote for goblin or octopus.

certain directors have the ability to bring the best out of composers. raimi was not that director for elfhead. tim burton, yes. elfman is always top-notch when working with tim.

i really hate that IMDB doesn't put music credits somewhere visible. assholes.

and i saw two trailers recently that don't mention who does the music either. the credits had everything but the composer.
J. Edgar (but we sort of guessed who it will be) and The Three Musketeers.

TTM didn't even list the actors in the credits of the second trailer (on Apple Quicktime Trailers site).

i liked Elfman's opening titles to the first Spider-man. And the last scene before the end credits.
The only two tracks to make it on the soundtrack :laugh:

I don't remember much else from the movie.

Yeah....Elfman's Spidey theme is fantastic. ....and that's about it for me. The rest I wouldn't even recognize if the Spidey theme didn't pop up ever now and then.

I can't get enough of the score.

The movie, I loved it as much as the score. Never read the comic so not sure how different it is.
Saw it in RealD 3D and enjoyed it's depth perception for the conversion.
Had no idea it was converted post-production. But I got the idea it was while watching it in theaters.

So much score in the movie. Some really nice scenes too.
Love the Mozart scene...

I enjoyed Rezzy Evil for some reason. The first one. Couldn't even sit all the way through the third one? Maybe the 2nd. Don't remember which one. Whichever one brought in Nemesis. Jill Valentine was hot though. :naughty: :naughty:

Looks like we hit another Aden softspot.

It went the way of Action movie instead of Horror that the series is liked for. 1st one had its moments but 2 and 3 were cringe inducing in the acting front, action, and story.

when i first saw it, i thought Jurassic Park in Space :laugh:

bought it on VHS, DVD and then Bluray.
Also bought the bleeding soundtrack. wonderful mix of Kamen and Orbital.
One of the first collaberations of composer and "normal genre" music. (damn kids)
It was expensive though. paid 40$ it :mad: in the Belles Fair (USA).
And it got water damaged and lost :(

I had the choice of buying that soundtrack or Devil's Advocate.
DA had more tracks on it.
EH has them more like suites in 4 tracks.
So you'd have to separate them yourself for a more movie-going experience.

I guess at the time it came out Manson & Beltrami were two of my favorite musical artists, so when I heard they were working together I shat my pants with excitement. Manson with Mechanical Animals and Anti-Christ Superstar and Beltrami with Mimic & Scream 2.

Expectations were VERY high.

I thought there were a few interesting soundscapes and textures, but in the end I just felt there was no real voice to the score. I guess I just thought those two can clearly do so much better as they proven before.

...and that's my two cents. :shrugs:

I think Spirits Within only had small things in it. The name Cid, the Zues Cannon being named after a mythological god like the summons are in the games, and there was something else too.... it largely lacked the FF feel to it.

Elliot Goldenthal's score was magnificant though. Glad it got an isolated score. too bad the bluray didn't get that upgraded.
