I think Mark Millar started chatting about it with Matt Vaughan while Wanted and Stardust were still being made.

You are correct! Some of his stuff's been optioned before it was ever published. Grant Morrison says Millar specifically started writing comics as movie pitches, but Morrison is not too fond of Millar these days, so I'm not sure how true that is.

Mark Millar is one of the most interesting people in comics to me because there's such a huge gap in the quality and tone of his work over time. I wonder how much of his stuff was actually ghostwritten, and who ghostwrote for him besides Morrison. I've heard Mark Waid did but I haven't heard any rumors about titles. The only thing I know for sure Morrison did was the ending to Red Son and an issue of Authority.


I saw an episode of MLP.

It sucked so much ass.

Yeah, I watched one of the brony recommended episodes (the Applejack/Rainbow Dash competition) and I was sort of stunned at what the show was actually like. It reminded me of Baby Looney Tunes a bit? I guess because it felt like a preschool show and vaguely like something that would air on CN at the same time. I figured it'd be Foster's with ponies. Also, people always talk about the animation being great, but there is clipping everywhere ; ; I don't get it!

Of course, I have a ton of affection for 80's MLP and that had terrible writing and animation that makes FiM look like the work of Max Fleischer so I have no room to talk. ;) I really wonder what it is that's made the show catch on! I do like a lot of the image macros.

Aden, Amazon has a ton of Joe stuff! Probably just stores not stocking stuff. I've been so disappointed with toy sections lately. I've heard retail toy sales are way down, so I guess they're just really cutting back on what they carry. :(

Depending on how old he is, there are some great GI Joe comics out there. Cobra is probably the best one!

I probably would've dug it when I was little! It just doesn't seem to have anything extra for the older people watching it.

I've seen some people say it's popular because the personality archetypes are a bit like a harem anime? But I don't think that's why a lot of people are so into it. Just something I'm missing, I guess. I already like too many things so I should probably stop worrying about it. ;) So behind on so many shows!
