6 partitions.

I got 2 HardDrives in there and split them into 6 drives.

Main one for Operating System and program files.
One for "on-the-fly" programs that don't need to be installed; folders of program installers; the default download location; my CD-rips go there.
And the other 4 are used for converting blu-ray to dvd.

I believe I have enough room on the laptop and external so I could back up everything form one onto the other while I set stuff up.

If you're going through so much trouble don't just post it here share it with the whole world! It's your hard work and you should be proud in both a job well done but also introducing an artist to an audience who otherwise wouldn't now about.

Well, when I say only for STS, I should have meant "only for FFshrine". Which still means for nearly 1/2 million people. And as I don't frequent other forums where I could share it... but lemme warn you: it'll be done...when it'll be done :D:D

It's all guestimation.

You can save them all on any. As long as it's not the main partition.
I give the main partition about 40gb.
And then the others just random things.
Like if it's a 300gb drive:
C) 50gb
D) 80gb
E) 70gb
F) 100gb

it's all flexible.
sometime's i just divide into equal parts.

My laptop has a small partition for the C) drive.
I wasn't thinking that one through when I first did it :erm:
I only have about 7-10gb of free space at any time.
Defragging that is kind of.... blah.

Then again, it is Vista so it keeps storing all these craps files I can't delete. I hate Vista for that.

BDrips are nice. Especially if they're over 3gb.

I don't know why, but the popular trend on torrent sites is to have a 2gb movie with 1280x720 screen.
That doesn't compute very well with x264 encoding.
The bitrate would be too low for the encoder to actually like to work with.
If they're going to do a small rip (under 4gb), they should at least keep the screen size friendly.

700mb-3.9gb=720x480 (or thereof)
4gb-7gb=1280x720 (or thereof)

BDrips are nice. Especially if they're over 3gb.

I don't know why, but the popular trend on torrent sites is to have a 2gb movie with 1280x720 screen.
That doesn't compute very well with x264 encoding.
The bitrate would be too low for the encoder to actually like to work with.
If they're going to do a small rip (under 4gb), they should at least keep the screen size friendly.

700mb-3.9gb=720x480 (or thereof)
4gb-7gb=1280x720 (or thereof)
8gb+=1920x1080 (or thereof)

The mainstream audience of torrent sites are entirely mislead by those 2gb(720p) movies.
Also most people who make them and release them ("scene" groups) are to blame.
Most of them don't speak English as a first language.

And the ones who take a BDrip and make a custom DVD will work with 720p (proper 720p mind you) and convert to DVD.
1080p is much preferred.
And they used the weirdest programs!!
