I have enough with those Film score/vgm guys again. I went back and helped with filling requests for a bit, but in less than 2 wks they turned back into a bitchfest again.

XIII feels like a job game done right. No omnibus leveling, just leveling each role and you don't have to grind at all, until Ch. XI. Plus they actually expect you to max the crystarium and have built in fights to make that do-able.

I shall tell a story some of you have heard before. Because this thread is its own continuity, and all.

My oldest friend's mother used to play RPGs and read fantasy novels religiously. It rubbed off on us, to say the least. I already liked the original, so hooking up with them was pretty beneficial to say the least. Mutual interests and all. I borrowed IV from her (in its II incarnation, obviously) and I wasn't even going to play VI because I ended up disliking IV so badly. I still remember the day she showed us Terra and VICKS and Wedge tromping through Narshe. I was guthooked. Followed the series rather blindly since. I wishwashed on getting XIII and all, but Shrine tends to make all of us crazy.

Or maybe it's just that FF fans are a crazy lot. Are crazy people attracted to it, or does it make us crazy? I'm not sure.

There'll be sections in Psych textbooks on us in the future, I'm sure.

Short answer: I really dislike IV but I respect that people love it. I kinda question the sanity of people who love X (hi Spoony <3). II.....good lord II is a mess.

Like I said, IV is definitely a case of preference. I don't think there's anything fundamentally wrong with it. I've just never connected with it the way I do with most of the others.

II is game that isn't enjoyable for me because of how it's made. I haven't played the PSP port, so I don't know what they've done with it. They would have had to change a good deal of the story as well as the leveling system for me to change my opinion on it, though.

X is a mix of both. I don't like some of how the game is executed and I really disliked the story and most of the characters. I liked Blitzball, so there's that.

That's not to say that I don't like games that others think are flawed in execution and story. Cuz I do ;)

So yeah, IV is just preference. I don't think I've said anything significantly or seriously negative about it, outside of ribbing Allen about it. I've said that I don't like the graphics they used for the DS remake. I didn't like them when they were used in the remake of III, so that's no real surprise and more of a stab at the remake process in general than IV itself.

Yeah, I'd say the graphics for the DS remakes have been rather...poor at best.

At least the style, it's kind of hard to take any serious scene serious when it's fucking Chibi shit.

For some reason I find it easier to go back to SNES/Sega games than N64/PS1 games graphics wise. Sprites just kinda look cute and cartoony while polygons didn't really age all that well plus there's the choppy look to everything.

I'm guessing that the way the forms shook out is because of what Tachibana said. Kenzaki had a perfect fusion from the beginning, so maybe he's the only one who could actually achieve King. Tachibana has a pretty good fuse rate (after all is said and done) so he can do Jack. No idea how Hajime achieves Wild. Maybe Mutsuki has the worst fusion rate. I dunno, I have to watch the show to find out about all this XD

When you said you didn't like how Leangle plots went I was thinking maybe he was a dick or something and always evil. Then I was scared that he was going to lose his cards to Orchid, but the Ace just flew into the belt and I was happy face. Pretty much the same people...oh well at least there are pleny of other threads that are much more full of fun.

Watcherman from W is famous for being abused on a game show. :) They told him he won a contest for a show business job, and when he got there, they locked him in an apartment and kept him there on camera until he won a million yen in mail in sweepstakes. I think he had to be in his undies or something too? Then after they did it, they told him he was going to be rewarded, blindfolded him, and then dumped him in an apartment in South Korea and made him earn the money to get back home.

He's really successful now though so maybe it was worth it to him, who knows~

I think what they did to Nasubi is awful (way worse than what I remembered!), but he also comes across as a really awesome guy in the article.

The mkv or whatever takes a minute or two to load in VLC. Plus, if you skip around you have to wait a few seconds for the audio to kick back in.

I got the HD of OOO this week. I can't have it big. Too much space for my eyes to see the subtitles and the action at the same time!

Regular size is fine. Blade size has actually worked out to be AWESOME for me.

edit: It was okay. The art is pretty cool. Story was shorter than I'd hoped. Maybe there will be more some day.

I think I'm one of the few that thought "Smile Time" wasn't really that good at all.

It had some hilarious moments...but I think it could have been so much better than it was. Spike's first reaction to Pupptet Angel to it was such a disappointment for me.

I'm jealous of the panel layout. It's quite nice. So is are the watercolours. I like those.

That's my one of my major flaws when it comes drawing comics. I just can't seem to get a decent panel layout. :(

I thought Puppet Angel was great too. The idea was genius. So was the "SMile Time" show. Hilarious.

I just felt it could have been so much better. There was just something about that episode that left me feeling like they really missed out on something that could have been a 100% brilliant episode.

I didn't know you could buy one. That's cool. :D

He did a few eps of 24 and a few eps of LOST after. One of my fave eps of LOST actually "Walkabout". Tragic, tragic Locke :(

I haven't seen Lost and I tried to get into 24 becasue it had cool split screen shit going on but the editing pissed me off in the episodes I watched. I'm sure it's not always like that but I don't have any of them to check.

I'm probably not going to get one with the Ankh arm, unless they're as easy to come by as the Figuarts that came with stands (excluding Kick) are.

It is fun imagining Ankh reacting to his name being spelled that way.

LOST is one of my favorites. It's got some fantastic writers.....another ex- Whedon writer, Drew Goddard and Brian K. Vaughan, who wrote "Y: THe Last Man".

24 was really good during season 2, 3 & 4.....then it stunk and got too formulated.

Well, if there's any consolation it's not as bad as the OCC box for RaToraTa.

My attic is just full of crap that I can't fit on my bookshelves. It's not very big and I can just about stand up straight in the middle part of it. I didn't find any weed smoking teenagers but there was an old guy who claimed to have survived the flood by being a stowaway on Noah's boat. I threw him some cheese and closed the hatch.
