02 A Tapdancer's Dilemma
I love this song. Put on my zoot suit and dissect people alive with a song in my heart.
This is a might bit different from most of their songs. They trade vocals back and forth, but she's more Opera trained which doesn't really show in this song and the music and he isn't as prominent. Usually the have more a metal sound to it, which only shows up in shades in this song.


03 Cryonic Love Song
These guys are FUCKED up. This is from one of their more recent albums. Their middle era is the best though.


04 Prologue-Babushka

A wonderful album (everything is illuminated OST). I don't know if you'd like the whole album, but the score cues are all great.


05 Cry Wolf

I think you'd like the rest of this album. Very odd. Very from the heart. Stripped down and naked kind of feeling. Rainy day music.

Morricone-esque. :) 3 members of Mr. Bungle of course.

I have this. I think it was on your advice I got it. A very unusual score, I suspect it didn't sit well with a lot of people. I like atonal stuff.
I think it's my favourite Marco. :-P
This score kicks ass. It's one of the few I usually stop everything I'm doing and just let the intensity of the music take over me.

i like movie fist fight sfx. it always sounds like a steak being smacked against a wall when someone gets punched, when in reality, getting punched usually creates more of a dull thud sound.

You're right, track 1 and track 10 need to be thought out. I also try to put something interesting in track 7. Everything else is like spaghetti on the wall.

First two tracks, middle track and last two tracks are always pre-planned.

Then I usually have about 20 or so songs (spaghetti) I wanted to put on.

I cut it down to 5, basing it on the better ones and whether or not I can find a good way of leading them all into each other as well.

With any luck they all fit snug with eachother.

I watched Coraline, I liked much of it. The attention to detail was fantastic. It moved very slowly for the first hour which was unexpected. Kind of boring in places.

The unravelling of the world in the last half hour was beautifully done. There was something missing from the book which I expected to see. Maybe it was too scary for kids. Won't say what in case people who read this haven't read the book.

Also watched The Spirit.

I knew this was going to be the opening track right away. I like creating a visual mood right off the bat. The same way Pink Floyd, with their albums, would immediately force you to turn off the lights and be taken away somewhere else. I rarely ever open with a in your face "rock" song...it needs to have mystery. Like seeing the logos at the beginning of a film. :) This song should do just that.
Think of my comps as a Danny Elfman main titles.....starts off slow, rises to a climax and then slows down at the end.

I fell in love with right away. His voice is great and the lyrics are too. Like an opening musical number.

FROZEN: A diamond in the rough. I ordered this score right away. Like the Elfman box, it went through so many delays I never thought it'd get here. When it did, I was uber-excited. An odd title indeed. It was the end credits....I guess he liked that title rather than end credits. It is the first thing that shows up in the end credits after all. :laugh: The cheeky monkey.

Polkadot Cadaver/Dog Fashion Disco's frontman, Todd Smith's solo album. SO it's guaranteed to be sick. and with that, I was guaranteed to love it. I just about put a few of his 'El-Creepo!' songs on twice before but they never made the cut.
