Juno is improved because Ellen Page is actually good. Smarmy knowing dialogue is made better by Ellen's line delivery. With another actress with the exact same elements it might not have worked. Diablo Cody's not the best writer, but I do like some of her jokes.
Jennifer's body is Rated R for sexuality, bloody violence, language and brief drug use.
In one of the first scenes is one of the worst hollywood contrived bands ever, if you dislike new emo, you will cringe.
Megafox isn't that good in it, but it's hard to vomit blood with a glazed look on your face and be "good."
She plays a very plastic bitch in the beginning and she pulls that off nicely.
It's shot super dark like to scare you and isn't pretty at all, nor does darkness scare me.

I'm not sure. Apparently the Lossless Thread got shut down or something? (I didn't verify this, lossless is a little too rich for my blood.) I know trailer music is forbidden, and District 9 has been stricken, but something came out about not being allowed to share Varese Sarabande and suddenly everyone bailed. Also something about a whistleblower "eddavi" although I was never able to follow that because all those posts were removed before I could read them. Far as I know, people are overreacting, but we're still able to share stuff. No idea what happened with the lossless though and why that one was singled out. The "revolution" has now branched out into two separate camps, both of which I'm a part of, but it is nowhere near as organized and focused as I found the centralized Film Score/VGM Hunt Thread. Only time will tell what happens, I guess. As long as all the archives in this forum remain, there is still a pretty hefty collection within its chambers (including all my uploads, Sarabande and all). If anything, I still have access to Joserael's invite-only blog, which is a massive juggernaut of discographies, so if you guys ever need anything specific, you can request it here.

I seldom looked at the lossless thread, that stuff takes up too much space for my little hard drive and I don't burn them to cd like some people do.
I'm not that picky. I can tell the difference with FLAC and MP3 but I just turn it up!

Poor Shyamalan gets a bad rap. Lady in the Water is one of my favorites of his (probably second to The Sixth Sense)...it just feels like such a personal little tale. Also, Paul Giamatti is perfect in it.

Unfortunately it seems to be weeding out all the forum regulars; the ones who provided us with all the new releases and rare promos and such. I don't know about you guys, but I pretty much have all the scores I want (that I am aware of)...the only reason I still stick around is for the new stuff.

I can tell the difference between lossless and MP3 too, I just don't have the luxury of space to be cranking out perfectly cloned CDs all the time. For the most part, I'm working on a laptop that is filled up to 99% memory and space capacity, and I'm constantly downloading, burning and deleting in order to keep this thing running smooth. It's constantly overheating too (after only 30 minutes or so on), so I'm afraid I'm going to lose everything pretty soon...

I'm not that much of a fanboy, honest, but I found out that BSG has got one more thingie in the works. EJ Olmos directed it and it's called The Plan and is gonna be about the cylon's plan from the point of view of the cylons coming out in late October. I thought it was all done, but no, you get more.
When you're done with season 4 you gotta see Caprica. Actually you could sort of watch it at any time, it's not spoilery taking place 50 years in the "past." Eric Stoltz is in it and has very red hair.

yeah.....they're waiting to release McCreary's score to "Razor" with "The Plan" ala double disc.......McCreary is apparently quite proud of the music to "The Plan" and has been said it to be a very primitive score.

I've been waiting on Caprica.......i'll wait till i get to the end of the 4th season and go from there. Besides......it's not airing until Jan........me thinks it would be gnawing on my brain if i watch the pilot then have to wait till Jan for more.

Hamlisch is a classic.......buddy kinda shit the bed in the 80's and early 90's....but sounds likes he's back on his game.

It's driving me crazy. Caprica was good, really good. I dare say better than Battlestar and now I have to wait....until January. I blame the score. I was gonna be like you and wait longer until nearer to the release of the season. But no, I had to get the score didn't I? It was a good score too. So you get bored one night and find the link. It's pristine Divx ripped from the HD DvD. I couldn't have stopped myself if I tried. I actually want to watch it again! Ah! January is way too long to wait, this sucks, don't be me. It really was a lot better than Battlestar, it has a cohesive well thought out story great almost film production and almost all of the actors are really good. I hope they can sustain 50% of that for the series and it will be gold.

The only 2 movies that I wouldn't include on that list are merely justifications.
Battlefield Earth is hilariously bad and fun for me to watch because it's so bad. The remake of John Carpenter's The Fog is pretty bad, but the original is so good they should take it off the list. I mean it's no worse than awful Jaws 3D or something. As I was going through that list I was glad I hadn't seen so many of those. The ones I had, I wished I hadn't. Street Fighter Chun Lee or whatever it's called is really bad.
There's something mildly charming about someone so committed to shlock like Uwe Boll. Although, I still don;t have to see his movies. The only one I was really curious about was In the Name of the King: A Dungeon Siege Tale mostly because it has an interesting title. I did not however avoid Glitter and it was a bitter mistake.

Dancer in the Dark is a cruel trick against the placid viewer.
I used to be a projectionist and had to run this thing for audiences.
It kind of sucked watching people leave the theater slightly damaged from it.
But then again, for someone like you who has a distaste for The Bjork, you get to watch her hang.
I never saw Velvet Goldmine, but I projected that thing too.
You get to see enough from the booth sometimes to determine if you want to see it at length.
Some films you can barely tolerate focusing credits and adjusting sound.
I love film, but some things are cruel art.

Dancer In The Dark was the feel good movie of the year.

almost as warm and fuzzy as Monster's Ball.

Bjork is a funny thing....i should stop knocking her.....every girl I've gone out with seems to love her.......i guess i should stop going out with the smart, artsy chick.

after many many years and many many miles, budarc arrives home....

So Rick Says......6 episodes left of BSG Season 4 and I gotta say I'm loving it.

Maybe, it's just that I heard so many people not liking it, so I went in with low expectations, but so far the beginning of the 3rd season and the middle of the 2nd season are the worst points of the series.

I like how this season is constantly questioning your morals, spirituality and political stance.....especially, just when you think you're on one side, the side you're rooting for turns around and does something completely against everything you're about. When it all comes down to it, there are no good guys/bad guys.....lots of gray areas and that's what makes the show.

As I'm nearing a close to the series, all hell is breaking loose and I still haven't 100% sided with any character....except Helo....he has done nothing I've disagreed with.

just one thing.....i don't think Muffit is showing up anytime soon :(

The Invention of Lying: ***1/2
Surprisingly truthful, insightful and raw. I never would have expected it from the stupid trailers they put out. Basically it states that if no one is able to lie, religion could not exist. And so the one guy (who somehow activates that dormant part of the brain that allows you to lie) is singlehandedly able to start religion. Pretty heavy-handed stuff for a "romantic" comedy. It also has a lot of good things to say about perception and judgment (basically the whole role of the Jennifer Garner character, in the one movie of hers I actually liked) and a hell of a lot to do with how people behave to one another and what goes on underneath the surface. This one was really good, one of the best of the year in my opinion. I recommend it.

Zombieland: ***
Fun and brutal, just like you expect it to be. The two male leads are pretty great in their roles. Woody especially has fun with it. Also, they killed B.M.! :(

Capitalism: A Love Story: ***
Scathing and inciting, I always love Michael Moore's approach to documentary filmmaking. He pretty much lets the evidence speak for itself. There's a lot of alarming and preposterous things revealed therein, but I kind of found it one of his weaker entries. Still, worth a very serious and thoughtful viewing. Also, it's always entertaining whenever Michael makes a personal stand against the bigwigs.

I wanted to catch A Serious Man today also, but apparently it's only in limited release. October 16, I think, it comes to town.

I watched the first episode again the other day when they were still sort of learning their roles, especially Starbuck. Her cuteness makes up for it.
I just got done with a marathon of Sarah Conner episodes. It turns out I saw part of the final one and forgot. Canceled now and a horrible way to end it with no chance of tying up all the many loose threads. I now believe that all people with red hair might be evil thanks to Shirley Manson of Garbage.

i just finished the series finale all but a few seconds ago........pretty good.........a few flaws.........but overall a good ending

.....until the last minute................it completely shit in the bed and rolled around in it. (strangely enough i watched that last scene being filmed and didn't even know it was BSG)

Yeah, I got addicted to Terminator pretty quick and watched it through to the end.
Some of the writing is a bit contrived soap opera like, but it's got enough decent bits to make up for it.
So that final scene is nearish to Vancouver BC, looks nice.
I didn't picture it with that much open space, I guess I'll have to visit some time.
Why do series have to end with such bullshit?... it's like a certain disdain for the audience these days. maybe some sour grapes at getting canceled. I still don't know what Starbuck was.

BSG spoilers....not that anybody actually reads this thread though.

The "earth" scenes were further up North.......most of it..............i suspect stock footage and CGI were used for the flamingos and antelopes.

The final scene in the present day, that's supposed to be Times Square......that's downtown Vancouver....that's the scene i saw being filmed.......

yeah.....vancouver's and what surrounds it, is pretty good for sc-fi.....they're just so many different types of land up here......we have the insane mountains, forest, desert, oceans, lakes, flat prairie type land.........The X-files did a good job at making it look like Mulder & Scully (and sometimes Skinner) visited almost every state there was in the U.S.

I think Starbuck was a victim of "writers don't know what they got themselves into" syndrome.

With the exception of Carnivale, Twin Peaks and Angel, which all ended on cliffhangers, but also finished they're stories up as well after being cancelled.

It's not that SC Chronicles left on a cliffhanger, it was more of an extreme change of scenery...I don't want to give it away. That intended story will now never be told. I think the Terminator thing has run it's course now what with the 4th film getting a chilly reception and the series canceled, I suspect it may be a while before we see anything else from it.

I've only been to BC and Vancouver once. Victoria is very lovely. I didn't travel around the area much though more than that and headed back south to Seattle WA and down the 5 back home to California at the time.

do any of you guys ever have problems burning albums to disc? well, this is for budarc mostly (i think i read on Rick Says' imdb.com profile he doesn't burn albums to disc).

But some albums absolutely refuse to burn to disc for me.....the burner freezes up and closes. JNH's "Lady In The Water" Complete score is the case I'm having right now.....in the past I've had problems with Zimmer's "Black Hawk Down" recording sessions and Jablonsky's "The Island" expanded score.

I've checked the files and individual tracks....there doesn't seem to be anything on them that would do that........any ideas, bud-butt? or Rick Says....maybe you can help....if you can't, then make me a meatball sandwich instead.

Tried playing the album, recording it (via stereo mix or wave), then burning the files you've recorded?

You'll lose a small amount of quality, but no form of protection or DRM should be able to prevent you from burning the resulting files.

Maybe you have gremlins. First step try an alternate burning program. Maybe you already did that. I have burned a few discs. What I like to do is make compilations for the road.
Make sure there's enough space on the disc for the songs. But you knew that.
Try converting the songs again, you can always delete files later.
Sometimes you get a batch of bunk discs too.
Could be a lot of things....

Audio is fun, remember that. I like this program because I've used it for years. I use Goldwave and there's a few tricks you can do to get rid of unwanted digital gremlins. Like you can take another existing file, copy and paste it in, erase it and mix in your wanted track. Good luck.

cool....i'll look into Goldwave......it might even have some of the functions i've been looking for for some other audio jobs I've been hoping to get on in the next few weeks or so.

The crack on mine works great, no problems. You might want to go with a slightly older version, not that it makes much difference, as long as the codes work.

Just because cracks, keygens and serials are more reliable with older ones.
