O Brother, Where Art Thou? can be somewhat considered a musical. If the KKK have to dance in synchronized choreography, it can be considered a musical :laugh:

It wasn't awful, but it was.....bland for me. Maybe I'm just over Fourze.

The "moral" of the arc was really just the line itself. I don't feel like the arc sold it. If the impostor had done more, or we'd seen flashbacks to support it, fine. But, all we got was her pulling some minor pranks and hanging out with Yuuki's eccentric parents.

Oh, she dropped Miu. Shows how little I care about her that I forgot that.

What would have been an amazing finisher early in the series is deflated by the circumstances surrounding it. Gentaro has been playing X-Men Origins.

Why didn't he do it as Cosmic States. For the love of Dog, people, have him using switches as Cosmic. That's the whole fucking point.

Yeah, I feel like Fourze has lost a lot of its magic for me. It was an entertaining enough arc and I thought Shimizu Fumika did a great job but there's a part of me that feels genuinely sad when I watch it right now. I just put too much into these shows sometimes. Hoping it'll win me over, somehow, because it's a shame for things to go sour because of one arc.

I thought Yuuki's promise with Gen was sweet and I liked seeing them as kids (and seeing Yuuki's parents), but acting like Gentaro was a bad friend made me really angry. I know it was mostly Yuuki being hurt but everyone else seemed to go along with it and it was kind of infuriating. Made me feel like they're trying to make me like Gen less too.

Thought the premise, with the face and memories losing, was creepy and cool but I don't think they did quite enough with it. I think I might've liked it more if they'd dropped the whole Yuuki-mad-at-Gentaro thing and had her gradually losing herself without telling anybody until it got to the point it did near the end, then having something like everyone be honest with each other/not hide things and have that be what helped bring her back. Plus, it'd give good chances for comedy, and a way to do the Tomoko/Ryuusei stuff that doesn't feel like an afterthought. I like them together a lot more than you do, but I'm not really interested in seeing them paired up unless they're actually going to get good scenes together.

Right now, I'm honestly more interested in where the Libra storyline is going to go than the KRC, and that makes me sad all over again. ONORE FOURZE~

Hopelessly Devoted was too. Originally there was no song like that at all. The revivals added a song but not that one, though I've seen stage versions that used it. When we did it we had this song. Ton of fun to sing but I have a hard time with some of the high notes:

Really, I would just recommend downloading soundtracks for a lot of musicals rather than trying to watch them. There's a lot of stuff with annoying stories but some terrific songs.

I guess it really is that the friendship is what made the show special, and when it's hard to buy that, the flaws stand out more and the show as a whole is just okay. The things that are still mostly working for me is apostle related stuff and Gentaro as a character. I don't like Tomoko or Ryuusei any less but they haven't had anything to do. Weirdly, I don't feel like I like Kengo as much. I wonder what caused that.

Yeah, the space ticket stuff was weird too. I thought they did a so-so job of rationalizing her and Kengo still wanting to be astronauts in the Aquarius arc, but making a big deal about going into space seems silly. I feel like they've kind of dumbed down Yuuki a bit too. Earlier in the show she seemed genuinely knowledgeable about all sorts of space stuff, but now she can't even pass qualification tests? I can completely buy Kengo wanting to actually do work in space, not just go there, but it doesn't feel believable with Yuuki.

I can deal with it just being about the promise when it comes to Gentaro and Yuuki, especially because the "girl placing a ridiculous amount of importance on a childhood promise" storyline is in Japanese stuff all the time. But tickets to everyone else is just an empty gesture that doesn't seem like it has much thought behind it. Which is kind of fitting, I guess.

I actually really liked the Gene arc (get the impression you did not feel the same), but for me, that needed to be the last time there was a big friendship crisis like that, unless they had some kind of amazing story behind it. Cosmic felt magical because it was powered by the strength of this incredible friendship, but now stuff feels like it's happening without much thought to what came before or after. Which is kind of funny considering they're actually picking up on one of the plot points I complained about next week.

I'm probably being overly negative because I honestly feel depressed over the turn stuff has taken and I don't really want to feel bad about the show anymore. Which I guess is where I was when Fourze started. :laugh: Hope I can appreciate Wizard for what it is.

I definitely have respect for Ryuusei, after the Cosmic arc and what he did last week. But, like you said, there isn't much for him to do otherwise and that shipping is boring to me.

Over-Time doesn't help by adding stuff like that into their translations even when it's not in the script.

Sometimes their changes are really bizarre to me. I mean, why translate English words to something else? Presumably everyone can hear and understand them. Just use italics or smth to emphasize that they're in English. People will get it.

They also translate "uso da" weirdly, but maybe that's just my lack of Japanese knowledge shining through and it has multiple meanings?

I'd have to double check, but I'm pretty sure they said "kore de kimari da" or something close to it. Bad enough on its own and Over-Time is making it worse by adding in more like it. If they're reusing lines like that I want a real reason for it. Would be cool if it was a genuine tribute to the show and not thrown in at random.

Even if you hate acknowledging that you're watching a Japanese show, you'd think you'd at least want an accurate translation. I mean, it's a clear translation but I know enough Japanese that I sometimes hear stuff and think "that's not quite right". Like "uso da" means "that's a lie/that's not true" and they usually translate it to "no"? And I mean, they're similar enough that the message is getting across, but I feel like there's enough of a difference there that it should be translated as what it actually means. I think Go-Busters needs a BRO-POWER episode for Hiromu and Ryuuji. Everyone else will have gotten effective pairing stuff, as of next week (and whenever they finally do Stag Custom). I like how they've shown that Yoko cares for Hiromu in a more organic way than hamfisting it with a dedicated episode. Cares about or respects everyone really, without coming off as the stereotypical docile, caring female.

It'd work fine. Gorisaki is more than capable of fighting on his own as a humanoid mech. In the show, anyway. Toy, not so much. Love the mech line-up in the movie. 3 humanoid and two flyers. Makes me wish I had some of those flight stands... Go-Buster All-Stars. Fuggen Do It.

I think they're a good thing if you can find something that genuinely works for you. Not so much if you don't. I've been on low dosages of stuff that helped decently and high dosages of stuff that didn't do much except side effects.

I can't take wellbutrin because of stuff in my history. Maybe adderall too? Right now the only mental health med I take is ativan for panic attacks.

I can get a 1080p and then do a perfect conversion to 720p for you.
or a very fine-ass 480p.

Don't trust the current 720p conversions out there.
They don't convert with optimal settings. at best, they only do "medium" settings.
leaving chances open for runs in the black parts of the screen, pixel noise around edges and lines and then some.

I downloaded Wrath of the Titans in 1080p and converted it to 720p and DVD (480p-MPEG standard) and they both look equal in quality to the 1080p I worked with.

I watched it in my 720p and nearly jizzed in my pants.

I looked at current 720p encode screenshots and just laughed.

Love that shit. Don't even care if it's the same game every time. Friend and I used to have marathon sessions, one lasting 3 days that we didn't even leave the futon. His mother brought us Taco Bell.
