How do I add PC as a platform on Nut Load?

Tom can do that.

I think we gave him admin.

I hope.

Or else you'll have to wait for Doc.

just post your post and then I can make the PC tag part of the tags that show up. I don't know if I can just add tags to stuff before it's even posted.

MUCH DELAYED UBER-SIZED 10 SONGS FEEDBACK POST!!!!

Wasting no time....let's get right down to the business at hand....

CHOCOLATE MISU # 7

TV SONG / Blue Man Group
That settles it. After hearing this and the tracks on IUs mix, I NEED to find more.

TELEVISION / Daft Punk
I have not heard this weird thang before. Neat.

EUROPOP / Eiffel 65
I was ready to skip before I heard it. I really didn't like that Blue song these guys did. I expected something similar.
I was wrong. This was all right. Silly me. :p

BEAUTIFUL NIGHT / Burden Brothers
This was decent. Didnt really catch me but didnt hurt either. No idea who these folks are? Whered you hear of them?

SWITCHBACK [KLAYTON REVISION] / Celldweller
I kinda really, really liked this.

SOCIAL ENEMIES / Orgy
This takes me back to my young cuckoo days. I used to frequent the local Goth club of the time. They played Orgy all the time.

The club is torn down now to make room for condos. :(

RINGFINGER / Nine Inch Nails
See the above comment.
NIN played some drunken secret shows at this club. Sadly I never got to see any of them. Would have been super cool though.

THESE THINGS / She Wants Revenge
Ive never heard anything by these guys before.besides a lack lustre Nightmare B4 X-mas cover.
I liked this though..I will seek out more.

WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE THEM LEFT? / Blaqk Audio
Kept thinking this sounds like Davey Hav---then I googled it. It is Davey Havok.
Nice. :D Im going to find more of this.
Im a fan of the later synthy stuff by AFI, rather than their early stuff.

BARREL OF A GUN / Depeche Mode
Depeche Mode had 3 EXCELLENT albums in a row. This was the last half of that trio. Ultra kicks ass.

Great mix. It slowly turned into more dark electronic music. Nice flow.
The Muhna Muhna Muppets album cover is false advertising.
I was expecting happy furry singing and dancing.

*Sigh*

Here we go, you monster.

:eye:

THE CREATIONIST / Kerli
This is quite charming and twinkly with a hint of the theatrics. Theres a little bit of Bjork influence in here.only I like this. Id listen to more.

FRECKLES / Sandy Fox
It almost sounds like Duck Tales. Not as bad I thought it might be.

FOLLOW YOUR DREAM / Valerie Stevenson
Kay.first one I had to skip after a minute and a half.

I2I / Tevin Campbell
Made it to the 1 minute mark.

THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG / Owl City
I liked this.
Very pleasant.

SMILE BOMB / Sara White
1 minutes. Title alone was enough to send me packing.

PONYO [ENGLISH NON-REMIX] / Noah Cyrus
:eye:
Mileys little sister, IU? Really?
Fetch me your pillow.

SON OF MAN / Phil Collins
I like this. Ive always like Phil Collins though.
Just seems like a nice guy with nice guy music.

LIGHT UP THE WORLD / Cast from GLEE
I should probably hurt you..but I was honestly expecting A LOT worse from GLEE.
Not that I liked it.but my expectiations were worse.

THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: MAJORAS MAKS [END CREDITS] / Koji Kondo
A fun mishmash of Zelda music is always good in my books. :)

Your trolling attempt to melt my brain was half a success.
I only NEEDED to skip threeand actually quite really liked 4 of the songs.
still.fetch me your pillow for trying. :eye:

Unnecessary "but was done before he stated to not bother so he gets it whether he likes it or not" Neg feedback

NEG #10

THE FUTILE / Say Anything
I bittersweet smile ran across my face as soon as I heard Maxs voice. I thought to myself this is the Negs last volume. Its been a good run. True story. 'Cept I was naked in real life.

LETTERBOMB / Green Day
This was my first favorite song off of American Idiot.

FAMOUS LAST WORDS / My Chemical Romance
Great song and album. As dark as it is, its strangely hopeful too. I dont remember if I ever got the chance to any MCR on any of my 10 SONGS. I always meant to put Mama on a few times. I think it got cut from all the mixes and the And All The Rest as well. :(

LIFE / Our Lady Peace
This song was HUGE in the Canadas. Dont know how much it was played in the U.S. Good ol Raine. :)

[COFFEES FOR CLOSERS] / Fall Out Boy
Ive never been much of a fan of FOB but this was pretty decent.

CRAZY / All
Its not Milo All but still good stuff.

YOU CANT COUNT ON ME / Counting Crows
Great lyrics. Counting Crows are a mystery to me beyond "Mr. Jones" and the song you put on an earlier volume.

THESE DAYS / Foo Fighters
What a wonderful song. The Foos at one of their best.

THE GOOD LIFE / Weezer
:swoon:
You just won the 10 SONGS.

EIGHT OF NINE / The Ataris
Nice way to finish. A little somber but not too much of a downer.

I really liked this volume. It was a nice, subtle way to finish your run. Ten songs that defined you to me. Most of these bands I think of you immediately when I hear them mentioned.

It's been a slice. :)

BUDARC #9

MONTAGUES & CAPULETS / Prokofiev
I hope you walk into rooms sporting your cape with this piece playing.
Romeo & Juliet. Love this piece.

IN THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING / Edvard Grieg
Love this piece the mostest though.
Always wanted to do an animated short to it.

NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN / Mussorgsky
Such a wonderful piece. Im always looking for a another decent recording that isnt the Stokowski version.

PAVANE [FAURE] / Gabriel Faure
I quite like this. Never heard it before. I would listen to more of this fellas' work.

SERENADE / Schubert
So lovely. Could listen to this for hours.

ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND THEME / Jon Brion
Brion is highly underrated. His work is so soft and delicate yet so powerful.

ABANDONING THE WEDDING / Rolfe Kent
Never heard this score outside of the film (which Ive only seen once). Its quite nice. Reminds me of Brions score to Everything Is Illuminated. I love it.

PUPPET LOVE / CRAIG PLOTS / MALKOVICH SHRINE / Carter Burwell
One of my preferred Burwell scores. Im not fond of a lot of them but this is one of the ones I really do like.

LUX AETERNA / Clint Mansell
I always think I never want to hear this cue again. Feeling all those movie trailers and interwebs fanboys ruined itbut it still is a damn fine piece, isnt it?

THE PURSUIT END TITLES / Reinhold Heil & Johnny Klimek
This was cool. I forgot about this score. I had it but deleted it to make more room for other stuff. I should grab it again now that I have more room.

Great mix, bud!!! Im happy you did a classical themed one. One of my favorite submissions so far.
1 more bud to go and yours will be over. :(
Great cover too.
STS represent. XD

ADEN #5
Basil Poledouris mix

RIDDLE OF STEEL/ RIDERS OF DOOM [CONAN THE BARBARIAN]
Thomas used this one too. :D Wonderful choral cue.
I need to compile a list of doubles in the 10 SONGS project. That was one of the things I wanted to keep track of when I originally planned this thing. Doubles are interesting and cool to see us listening to the same thing.

MAGNETO [CHERRY 2000]
I quite like this score a lot. Very pleasing. A true gem that is finally getting the attention it deserves.
I love the Western thematic writing.something Poledouris didnt do enough of.

HOODED LOVE [CHERRY 2000]
Very floaty. Interesting choice. I hope you play this in your fap tent.

MAIN TITLE [ROBOCOP]
I always liked the satirical news theme here. Hilarious. Classic Verhoeven/Poledouris.

ACROSS THE BOARD [ROBOCOP]
Robocop was the first time I really noticed Poledouris music, so it has a special place in me heart.

FEDERAL NETWORK [STARSHIP TROOPERS]
More satirical Verhoeven/Poledouris.
Im always game for it.

KLENDATHU DROP [STARSHIP TROOPERS]
Excellent cue. The skittering violins subtly mixed into the background is great. This was the score that confirmed my love for Poledouris. Love that heroic theme.

MATTHEW QUIGLEY [QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER]
More people need to hear Quigley. I love it. One of Poledouris best.
Its like a quirky Western that almost sounds like Randy Newmans Toy Story score.

THE ATTACK [QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER]
God, I love these older on the range type of scores. The frontier type of horn arrangements. Makes me just want to jump on a horse and ride. XD

THE LEAVING [CONAN THE OBRIEN]
Wonderful way to finish your Poledouris tribute. Such a lush, beautiful piece. They dont write complex emotion like this anymore.

Bravo. Bravo.
Im sure it was VERY difficult to pick 10 cues to define your favorite Poledouris moments. You did well.
I had forgotten there was a 35 minute commentary track added on. :D
Im excited to listen to this when I have the time. I put it right on my desktop so I dont forget.

SPARKY #5

HORROR [INTRO] / Sparkedit [various]
Crikey. I never would have recognized the Dimension Logo. I love doing stuff like this as well.
WE DEFINITELEY need to work on edits and mixes together. The madness! THE MADNESS!!!! fap.

FIRE / James Newton Howard
JNH is one of my top 10 composers.
We should stand on a roof top in our undies and listen to this the next time there's a thunder and lightning storm.

ACID TEST DUMMY / Michael Giacchino
It was weird listening to this by itself. I only listen to my suite edit now, so I can make room for more scores. Giacchino is another top 10 fave.
This is all win so far.

END OF DAYS / John Debney
More top 10 composers! This is a great score.
Uses the same blueprint as Sleepy Hollow and Lesbian Vampire Killers.

SACRIFICIAL PROCESSION / James Horner
Interesting choice. Excellent one at that.
I never would have thought to include this on such a mix.

ELIZABETH OVERTURE / David Hirshfelder
This was cool. Really cool actually. Ive never heard it before.
Ill seek out more for sure.

SUPER 16 / Nue!
This is an obscure surprise. Nice. :D
Nue! was great, creepy stuff.

HALLOWEEN PRANK / Douglas Pipes
Everybody should have this score. Its so feckin good.
Why will no one hire Pipes for more projects. He proved his is more than worthy to do fun horror scores with smarts.

DAMIENS DELIVERANCE / Marco Beltrami
This score doesnt get enough credit for its quality.
Sure its not Goldsmithbut its still pretty feckin good.
Beltrami uses some really interesting and effectively creepy techniques on this score.

INSIDIOUS SUITE / Joseph Bishara
:rofldata: :rofldata:
Excellent. Too much fun. I love the edit.

I loved this mix. Made me want to go back to October and fap.

---------

Lye.Im leaving your Bond mix for later on when I have more room and time. Its a long one that deserves a post all to its own.so Im going to move onto your Arnie mix first.

LYE #9

INTRO/BAKERSFIELD / Harold Faltermeyer
Good ol 80s synth scores. They put me in a weird comfort zone. Glad you feel the same way.

PREDATOR MAIN TITLE / Alan Silvestri
Fuck yeah. Silvestri is an old favorite. I love that ol menacing militant brass writing Silvestri used so much. It even worked in Back To The Future somehow.

COMMANDO PROLOGUE/MAIN TITLE / James Horner
Im not so sure about this one. Too busy for my tastes. My loss. Horners a good composer. The more softer side of this piece is quite nice though.

BILLY STANDS ALONE / Alan Silvestri
MORE SILVESTRI!
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d9PlmZbEjKc/Ta2dn-euxII/AAAAAAAAAVM/i0-CmT1exik/s1600/happydance.gif
I love that action charge composing Silvestri would always do back then.
Starts off like all light and skiddish for a few bars sounding like its a little dog charging .then gets heavy and menacing like a BIG DOG just came around the corner.

THE POLICE STATION / Brad Fiedel
Was never too sure about Fiedels musical talent. He had a nifty ear for electronic textures and pulses though. and his Terminator theme is wonderful as well. Tragic in a weird way.

THE DREAM / Jerry Goldsmith
:D Our man Goldsmith.
Such a great score. Its so raw, dirty and brassy/percussive goodness.

THE MUTANT / Jerry Goldsmith
Same scoredifferent sound. Nice. :D
Very dream like and majestic. Makes me think of the dream scenes in Brazil for some reason.

RIDDLE OF STEEL/RIDERS OF DOOM / Basil Poledouris
A TRIPLE TAKE!!!!
Thats so awesome.

THE KITCHEN/THE ORGY / Basil Poledouris
Very Orff. Interesting cue to pick. It makes me nod my head left to right for some reason.

T2 THEME / Brad Fiedel
Like I said.its a beautiful theme. A classic.

I applaud you for this mix. An excellent throwback to the classic Arnie films. Good theme to work with. :D

NDI #1

EID MA CLACK SHAW / Bill Callahan
Have heard of this guy but hadnt heard any of his work until now.and I like it a lot. Great lyrics and pleasant voice. I particularily liked the dreaming of the perfect song verse.

TURNIN TO A BUG / Brendon Small
What was that?
Funny. Short and sweet..and the inspiration for the title and cover.

CHICAGO / Tom Waits
Im loving this album. Happy to hear someone else too. This album (and a few others) is the reason I wanted to start up all these new Nut blogs.

TERRIFIED HEART / Poe
That was kinda creepy. I replayed it at least 6 times in a row to figure it out. Oddyet strangely attractive.

DING DONG / Nellie McKay
I liked this quite a bit. Made me think of Sia, Norah Jones and Fiona Apple all wrapped into one.with deceivingly Im going insane lyrics.
Makes me wish I was in a musical or something..almost like the Its Oh So Quiet video.

VEGETABLES / Paul McCartney & The Beach Boys
Im surprised after 7 months of 10 SONGS and over 1000 songs, this is the first time someone has used The Beach Boys. I like. :)

THE ONE & ONLY / Birds Of Prey
 I like this song. Im glad you put it on your mix.

MARCELINES SONG / Rebecca Sugar
This was cute. Very stripped down recording but very intimate as well.

TOM THE MODEL / Beth Gibbons & Rustin Mann
Such a wonderful album. :) Beth Gibbons has the bestest voice.

COUNTRY DEATH SONG / The Violent Femmes
This is another group Im surprised never got represented on 10 SONGS until now. What a wonderful song to choose too. These guys bring back some good memories.

Great first mix! :D
Im happy you joined the 10 SONGS project. Its really neat to hear all the various unique tastes in musical voices all the shit-shooters have.

THE FUTILE / Say Anything
I bittersweet smile ran across my face as soon as I heard Maxs voice. I thought to myself this is the Negs last volume. Its been a good run. True story. 'Cept I was naked in real life.

Decided to flip the order because putting this last would make me look way more suicidal than I am XD

But, seriously. Nothing makes sense.

LIFE / Our Lady Peace
This song was HUGE in the Canadas. Dont know how much it was played in the U.S. Good ol Raine. :)

I don't remember it being big here at all. Really it was just Superman's Dead and then Somewhere Out There

CRAZY / All
Its not Milo All but still good stuff.

Lol. When it's Milo it's not ALL at all XD It's not Chad era (my favorite), but it's a great song that pretty much sums it all up.

YOU CANT COUNT ON ME / Counting Crows
Great lyrics. Counting Crows are a mystery to me beyond "Mr. Jones" and the song you put on an earlier volume.

Definitely worth checking out if you have the time/inclination. It's poppy/folky melancholia. Epic shit.

THESE DAYS / Foo Fighters
What a wonderful song. The Foos at one of their best.

It's the single now. Record companies have taste? Shocking.

Yes, your anguish sustains me. Pity you went for Kenshin and not A-ko
I2I / Tevin Campbell

Why 1? Love and Peace!

THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG / Owl City
I liked this.
Very pleasant.
Owl City is very pleasant overall
SMILE BOMB / Sara White
1 minutes. Title alone was enough to send me packing.
There seems to be a pattern of Anime having really cheesy themes. What up Japan?
PONYO [ENGLISH NON-REMIX] / Noah Cyrus
:eye:
Mileys little sister, IU? Really?
Fetch me your pillow.
If I really hated you, I would have used the remix, but that shit is fucking aural waterboarding. Can't believe Miyazaki let that shit happen. Good thing it's only during the credits.
SON OF MAN / Phil Collins
I like this. Ive always like Phil Collins though.
Just seems like a nice guy with nice guy music.
Makes me want to climb a waterfall. Then I just watch the movie instead.
LIGHT UP THE WORLD / Cast from GLEE
I should probably hurt you..but I was honestly expecting A LOT worse from GLEE.
Not that I liked it.but my expectiations were worse.
Low expectations are magic. I was originally going to do nothing but GLEE, but I still have some shred of decency. Or I didn't want you and Neg to slam your ears in. Not without recording it, at least.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: MAJORAS MASK [END CREDITS] / Koji Kondo
A fun mishmash of Zelda music is always good in my books. :)
I just can't resist me some Zelda. The little bit before the end makes me sad thinking of the Deku-butler's son. Credits themes just make me feel it's over. I tried to do one for every tome.

Your trolling attempt to melt my brain was half a success.
I only NEEDED to skip threeand actually quite really liked 4 of the songs.
still.fetch me your pillow for trying. :eye:

I was tempted to post Annie's Boobs too but I didn't see him in my Community folder.

They pulled Community for an undetermined amount of time. :(

THat's bullshit.

That's like pushing it closer towards the guillotine.

I'm really hopeful it'll still come back just because it's so close to syndication. Pulling Parks and Rec for a while was great for the show.

Tom can do that.

:D

I think we gave him admin.

I hope.

Or else you'll have to wait for Doc.

I can too! Though it probably doesn't matter anymore. It's just Nut Ink I can't do it on.

EID MA CLACK SHAW / Bill Callahan
Have heard of this guy but hadn’t heard any of his work until now….and I like it a lot. Great lyrics and pleasant voice. I particularily liked the “dreaming of the perfect song” verse.

TURNIN’ TO A BUG / Brendon Small
What was that?
Funny. Short and sweet…..and the inspiration for the title and cover.

CHICAGO / Tom Waits
I’m loving this album. Happy to hear someone else too. This album (and a few others) is the reason I wanted to start up all these new Nut blogs.

TERRIFIED HEART / Poe
That was kinda creepy. I replayed it at least 6 times in a row to figure it out. Odd…yet strangely attractive.

DING DONG / Nellie McKay
I liked this quite a bit. Made me think of Sia, Norah Jones and Fiona Apple all wrapped into one….with deceivingly “I’m going insane” lyrics.
Makes me wish I was in a musical or something……..almost like the “It’s Oh So Quiet” video.

VEGETABLES / Paul McCartney & The Beach Boys
I’m surprised after 7 months of 10 SONGS and over 1000 songs, this is the first time someone has used The Beach Boys. I like. :)

THE ONE & ONLY / Birds Of Prey
 I like this song. I’m glad you put it on your mix.

MARCELINE’S SONG / Rebecca Sugar
This was cute. Very stripped down recording but very intimate as well.

TOM THE MODEL / Beth Gibbons & Rustin Mann
Such a wonderful album. :) Beth Gibbons has the bestest voice.

COUNTRY DEATH SONG / The Violent Femmes
This is another group I’m surprised never got represented on 10 SONGS until now. What a wonderful song to choose too. These guys bring back some good memories.

Great first mix! :D
I’m happy you joined the 10 SONGS project. It’s really neat to hear all the various unique tastes in musical voices all the shit-shooters have.

The bug song is from the Franz Kafka rock opera! It is a pretty great tune. It's so short I wind up listening to it 100 times every time I think of it. Brendon Small is a really good composer. The tunes on Metapocolypse aren't quite my thing but I'm glad so many people get to see how great his music is.

Country Death Song is probably my all-time favorite Violent Femmes song, even though Add It Up is my favorite to sing. Gordon Gano just has the perfect voice for that sort of haunting, dark tune. Would love to see him do a whole album of stuff like that.

Pinkerton is pretty much still the best album ever. Until the day that Songs from the Black Hole gets released, anyway.

I laughed surprisingly hard at this. Not sure if it's cause it's early and I barely slept or because it's just that funny.

I don't see these until the next day and they always make me think too much about what might have been. I should pretend to sign out next time and lurk to get one and then go to bed fully armed with dream fuel.

Got the first Nut Ink post up! Doc told me to get rid of the test post when I did it, but I can't! I can edit, but not delete.

Sorry. I didn't realise. Fixed now. Same for Tom.

Looks good. I love those old style book covers. I'm sad like that.

....I forgot to remove my e-mail address from the notifications though, so I'm still getting those.

You want it removed?

I didn't mess with it at all. Just wrote straight into Blogger. Doc must be responsible for it. I really like it too. :)

I added a subtle pattern background. It lessens the blinding white and ties it in with the gray but not in an obvious way. Hope it's okay for everyone.

If not, I can revert easily. I have the previous template saved.

The one I got has 31 tracks, is in 256 kbps MP3 and 174MB big. Is this better?

Same. :D

How do I add PC as a platform on Nut Load?

Done. It's multi platform so can you go in and add Xbox, and PS3 to your tags? I'll do it of you give me permission.

I only have Load & Box powers but no ink.

Fixed.

Sorry guys, I wasn't not adding that, I just forgot. If you think I've did wrong or failed at something don't hesitate to say.

I don't know if I can just add tags to stuff before it's even posted.

I don't think we can. I've tried that but never succeeded.

I blew my first Nut Load.

Looks good. It's a helluva big Nut. If everyone wants big nuts I'll need to change the text at the top.

I'm going to guess that the same person who did In the Hall of the Mountain King did Dance of the Sugarplum Fairy.

Mountain King is by Edvard Grieg and Sugarplum Fairy is by Tchaikovsky.
Although I can see why someone could make that assumption. They both have a plucky melodic string sound and writing in sequential notes of a single scale, which makes for a very nice sounding piece.
Feck do I ever love The Nutcracker. I want to listen to it now.

I hope so too.

You're right about the Parks & Rec thing. It seems to been revived quite nicely. I haven't caught a lot of eps of that show this year but it's nice to know it's not buried in a death slot.

.....and Ron Swanson just makes me chuckle....a lot.

I know Getchoo, No Other One, and Tired of Sex did. I feel like at least one song was re-worked for Pinkerton but I can't remember what it was for the life of me.

I've seen Weezer play every song from Pinkerton live except for Across the Sea!

See, I thought this was neat looking. Looked like a very weird horror movie monster to me. It's kind of cool to see what squicks out people and what doesn't, except for the whole them getting squicked thing.

I usually get really upset by nude people in gas masks. I have no idea why it bugs me so much. Once I was saving some Masumi Max pictures (cause perv) and there was one of her topless in a gas mask and I burst into tears almost instantly. It was a really weird experience! They usually don't bug me sans the nudity (though sometimes they still do)

Doc, I am a gigantic jerk and I really am sorry. If there's anything I can do to make it up to you just say the word.

Shit that would be useful. Would have to mod it for laptops like the mousepad/trackball though.

yeah I made a good, good! I often tend to go for the light blue, grey, black, bark blue color sets when I make stuff like that. My super old myspace took forever for me to putz around with all the different sizes, faunts, boarders, backgorunds, and clickable stuff. I feel that the other nutshells are fine as is or at least for now.

For my Elf Love I will probably put in some links and other stuff to the side bars like official artists and other sites and resources that relate as well as links to other stuff. Would you like me to put the Nuts as links if I do add exta link space?

The expansionary of not just new DC with some other comic stuff on the side means I have a bigger range to work in but that it's kinda more official means I can't just do good enough and should probably do regular content.

I need to consider all my options in what names and stuff I should use. So far I've got different accounts and aliases for various stuff but not much for "me". maybe what with you going pro at any moment and rel people reading this should be the thing I put my real name on it. I already separated some other stuff due to the fact that "real life people" probably won't appreciate 80 different snap shots of star wars dolls and hundreds of liked naked lady photographs just to get to 1 halfway decent bird photo. I can only handle the nut sized reviews too. I think I'll probably wind up just using the ghost account on the Nut Load because I can't really do more than a review or two a month. I don't play enough games.

I think that it's a lot more challenging to do a video game nut than it is a book or movie nut. I know I did feel like I left a lot of important stuff out in the one I wrote. I'm really just interested in doing the shorter reviews, though.

Sorry, I'm doing 40 things at once right now.

The game, book and TV one was never destined to have regular posts anyhow. It's just whenever we finish something like that. Unless one of the others want to start doing their collection. I added some to the game just to get it looking less barren.
I added some to the TV one because my current viewing is Season 3 so I wanted seasons 1 and 2 down first. Once I've did that I'll just be posting as I', viewing.

Going to the shop. Need a break.

I am planning on at least two more book posts tonight. Maybe a movie too, I've watched several I haven't reviewed yet.

Like I said, reading super fast is my one real talent, so I might as well use it here, Plus, I'm just reading stuff in my house right now, it's easy to review stuff you've read multiple times.

It was raining today so I couldn't get the cupcake stuff, think I might frost some cookies with saucy/spooky messages though~

Good work. That's our first PC and xbox tag. Most of us have PS3.

I think it's too long. I'm not criticizing the quality of your writings, don't think that. You nailed it, I've seen that game played a lot.

If everyone prefers that length though they need to decide.
Sites look messy if they aren't uniform. Messy sites make a reader go elsewhere.

I didn't know you were in. I wasn't keeping track of who was in and out. I was too busy making stuff. Cuckoo will have to do it. I don't have your address.

Guys, if things end up being really huge and not "Nut sized" anymore, I'm going to bow out. I'll help set everythiong up and whatever else is needed of me but the original idea was short, quick bursts. 300 words is a nice digestible size. I think. :erm:

Was my Mario one too long? 'Cause my next one is similar sized but I can cut it down. Just most of the size comes from segmenting the review into the categories.
My main thought behind my style was to make it like if I was a middle to bottom guy at a video mag and was handed to filler slots so it's factual but kinda to the point without spoilers. I think I could trim stuff down but I'm kinda afraid of making it so basic that I'm just saying the same 5 or so reviews over and over again.

Okay, now we're good. I liked Pedestrian on youtube the other night.

I'm reading 2 books atm. One fiction, one non-fiction. I used to have to do multiple fiction works at once for Uni and it's stressful for me.

On 2nd review this next one will be somewhat shorter after I took all the grammar stuff out and done it right.

HORROR [INTRO] / Sparkedit [various]
Crikey. I never would have recognized the Dimension Logo. I love doing stuff like this as well.
WE DEFINITELEY need to work on edits and mixes together. The madness! THE MADNESS!!!! fap.

 this was extremely fun to edit. I haven't edited music by itself for some time. I think last year was the last time.
it was mostly extremely long suites so I can play them while playing video games
YES! edits and mixes. I'm game.

FIRE / James Newton Howard
JNH is one of my top 10 composers.
We should stand on a roof top in our undies and listen to this the next time there's a thunder and lightning storm.

:erm: you can go ahead and get struck by lightning, I'll stare out the window and fap. I'll keep a phone ready to can ambulence.
for 2, because I'm quite likely to get struck by lightning talking on a phone during a lightning storm.

ACID TEST DUMMY / Michael Giacchino
It was weird listening to this by itself. I only listen to my suite edit now, so I can make room for more scores. Giacchino is another top 10 fave.
This is all win so far.

I couldn't figure out which one I wanted. Listening to the score in full, I heard several tracks that caught my ear.

END OF DAYS / John Debney
More top 10 composers! This is a great score.
Uses the same blueprint as Sleepy Hollow and Lesbian Vampire Killers.

It's underrated. The movie is okay-ish. But the score is definitely a keeper. I wanted either this or the demo of the main titles. I just love the choir, the progression and that creepy boy doing that alto.(?)alto...soprano

SACRIFICIAL PROCESSION / James Horner
Interesting choice. Excellent one at that.
I never would have thought to include this on such a mix.

I was really taken away by this movie. Very good watch, even more than once. Horner's score really fits in here.
I've always loved that sort of menacing music that serves as a prelude to doom.
Constant rhythm, clear and precise percussion, and those rattly noises. I love those noises.

ELIZABETH OVERTURE / David Hirshfelder
This was cool. Really cool actually. I’ve never heard it before.
I’ll seek out more for sure.

My brother pointed this soundtrack to me. He watched the movie and said I would like a lot of it. He knows the types of scores I'm into with the Latin choir and brooding themes of the villains and impending doom.
So I bought the soundtrack on his word  and then bought the DVD. Want to get it on blu-ray as well.

I can up the score in mp3@vbr-0/flac for everyone. Highly recommended.

SUPER 16 / Nue!
This is an obscure surprise. Nice. :D
Nue! was great, creepy stuff.

feck, this one really creeps me out. like really. and that doesn't happen often with music.
aside from Pendericki and Bishara.
I had to share my creepy vibes of this one.

HALLOWEEN PRANK / Douglas Pipes
Everybody should have this score. It’s so feckin’ good.
Why will no one hire Pipes for more projects. He proved his is more than worthy to do fun horror scores with smarts.

See! this is the one with that horn sound in it. I love that wind/wood/sound. It just bellows into the air like a wolf singing to the moon. It's like ambiance music for music that's not sfx ambiance for music. I LOVE IT!!!!

DAMIEN’S DELIVERANCE / Marco Beltrami
This score doesn’t get enough credit for it’s quality.
Sure it’s not Goldsmith…but it’s still pretty feckin’ good.
Beltrami uses some really interesting and effectively creepy techniques on this score.

Agreed. I think it gets a lot of flak because everyone expects the same Goldsmith richness. One thing I was hoping for was the Latin to be revamped. It didn't happen for the movie, but the soundtrack release had a bonus track of The Omen Theme (76/06) which was pleasing :)
It also didn't help the movie at all that the films were lost to a fire that happened. They had to film the movie again. Poor guys, no wonder Sabertooth lacked more emotion and depth than he could've offered.
I just like watching it to see his pretty face all over the screen

INSIDIOUS “SUITE” / Joseph Bishara
:rofldata: :rofldata:
Excellent. Too much fun. I love the edit.
I really couldn't pass this up. Especially with the Tip Toe introduction.
Adding the vinyl effects, scratch and everything was what really made it for me.
And then slowing down the score near the end.

I loved this mix. Made me want to go back to October and fap.

It's not even October and I still fap. There's no law or rules or anything, Cuckoo.

Was my Mario one too long? 'Cause my next one is similar sized but I can cut it down. Just most of the size comes from segmenting the review into the categories.

There is no right or wrong; yours and IU's are longer, mine, Ndi's and Buds were shorter. If people need extra space then that's the way it should be.

I personally think a site should have a guideline and an approx word length but that's just the way I've been taught. I had that at Uni and I make submissions to publishers that call for the same thing. It's ingrained in me. I'm happy to step aside and accept whatever the majority want. I'd just feel I'd let myself down if I didn't tell you all how I felt. I welcome the same from everyone.

Now, I really must go to the shop.

Here's something strange. When you type in @+[251859230739:0] on Facebook, the characters transform and become "I'm gay" once you post it. What in the world? What's going on?

MSNBC noted this little exploit (http://digitallife.today.msnbc.msn.com/_news/2011/11/17/8857103-why-does-2518592307390-become-im-gay-on-facebook?chromedomain=technolog) and discovered the reason behind it. Here's how it would work on Facebook. First, instructions like this would pop up on your friend's wall

‎1. Copy this: @+[251859230739:0]
2. Paste it as a comment below.
3. Delete the "+" sign.
4. Press "Enter."

And then people would blindly follow it and suddenly see "I'm Gay" attached to their posted comment. Har har. Is this some sort of sick joke? Pretty much.

The reason this is happening is because the number string within the brackets is actually the id for a Facebook page. So in the case of "I'm Gay", the 251859230739 is in reference to the actual I'm Gay Facebook page. It reads the numbers as the title of the page and flips your string into words. It's like the backend of when you tag someone. And with this trick, you can basically make anybody say anything as long as there's a Facebook page for it (and if they're sucker enough to fall for it). Just replace '251859230739' with whatever number string that identifies the title you'd want to use and you control their Facebook.

MAGNETO [CHERRY 2000]
I quite like this score a lot. Very pleasing. A true gem that is finally getting the attention it deserves.
I love the Western thematic writing….something Poledouris didn’t do enough of.i used this one on my motherfucking epic mix as well, so u can add it to your doubles list. btw, did you know poledouris was almost the composer on dances with wolves? wonder how he woulda handled that. though i can't imagine anyone topping my boy john barry

HOODED LOVE [CHERRY 2000]
Very floaty. Interesting choice. I hope you play this in your fap tent. i love this one too. i also like the track "drive" from the same film. such an overlooked poledouris score!

KLENDATHU DROP [STARSHIP TROOPERS]
Excellent cue. The skittering violins subtly mixed into the background is great. This was the score that confirmed my love for Poledouris. Love that heroic theme. i listen to this nearly every day and no less than once a week. i crank the volume on max if i'm playing it in the car

Lye….I’m leaving your Bond mix for later on when I have more room and time. It’s a long one that deserves a post all to it’s own….so I’m going to move onto your Arnie mix first.i totally cheated and bent your rules with this one :D

i am in the process of doing a bond box set as a shrine exclusive, including the best cues from throughout the series and most of the title songs. i will be doing improved redux suites for many so you can delete that mix when u r done listening, if you want.

INTRO/BAKERSFIELD / Harold Faltermeyer
Good ol’ 80’s synth scores. They put me in a weird comfort zone. Glad you feel the same way. :laugh:not my fave score from the arnold films, but this theme is so apocolyptic and in the same vein as fiedel terminator music

PREDATOR MAIN TITLE / Alan Silvestri
Fuck yeah. Silvestri is an old favorite. I love that ol’ menacing militant brass writing Silvestri used so much. It even worked in Back To The Future somehow. silvestri was one of the 1st composers i got serious about listening to. back to the future was a big one for me, and kinda comes from the same place as his predator music, even though they're drastically different types of films.

COMMANDO PROLOGUE/MAIN TITLE / James Horner
I’m not so sure about this one. Too busy for my tastes. My loss. Horner’s a good composer. The more softer side of this piece is quite nice though.it's far from his best, and to be honest, nearly every cue sounds exactly like this. i do like how he makes use of steel drums and other non-conventional instruments. i really wish there was more of the soft father/daughter theme, but it only appears in the main title and the finale!

BILLY STANDS ALONE / Alan Silvestri
MORE SILVESTRI!
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d9PlmZbEjKc/Ta2dn-euxII/AAAAAAAAAVM/i0-CmT1exik/s1600/happydance.gif
I love that action charge composing Silvestri would always do back then.
Starts off like all light and skiddish for a few bars sounding like it’s a little dog charging ….then gets heavy and menacing like a BIG DOG just came around the corner. :laugh:such powerful music, it really made that movie.

THE POLICE STATION / Brad Fiedel
Was never too sure about Fiedel’s musical talent. He had a nifty ear for electronic textures and pulses though. …and his Terminator theme is wonderful as well. Tragic in a weird way.i think he was good, though never all that versatile or diverse.

THE DREAM / Jerry Goldsmith
:D Our man Goldsmith.
Such a great score. It’s so raw, dirty and brassy/percussive goodness.i don't know if you remember but this was also on my vol 2, i think. i am such a goldsmith fanboy it's not even funny. everything he did, though especially his stuff between 1979 and the early 90s is pure fucking magic. man was a genius.

THE MUTANT / Jerry Goldsmith
Same score…different sound. Nice. :D
Very dream like and majestic. Makes me think of the dream scenes in Brazil for some reason.goldsmith was the king of sci-fi scoring, better than williams, imho

RIDDLE OF STEEL/RIDERS OF DOOM / Basil Poledouris
A TRIPLE TAKE!!!!
That’s so awesome. i couldn't help myself :D

THE KITCHEN/THE ORGY / Basil Poledouris
Very Orff. Interesting cue to pick. It makes me nod my head left to right for some reason. it's so primal, yet elegant at the same time. this score really is timeless.

T2 THEME / Brad Fiedel
Like I said….it’s a beautiful theme. A classic. [/SPOILER] it makes me angry that fiedel's themes were barely used in T3 and not at all in T4, though elfman's theme kinda makes a nod to fiedel.

With corrections and redundancies I'm down to about 600 words. The largest part being the buyer's guide part. I know it's not really essential but with all the re-makes, special editions, ports, re-printings, format upgrades, and licences changing hands sometimes it really needs to be said which is the best to hunt for since this is meant for people who haven't experienced the thing before.

The next few games and my 1st books aren't going to be very long at all I think. We can do children's books, right?

there was a revamped version for the main title. It only played once when right at the end of the title sequence.
I did a custom edit using Elfman's opening titles and overlapped Fiedel's theme to match the film version of T:S.
After comparing the two, I noticed the one in T:S is revamped, as none of the themes in the first two are identical to the one in T:S.
I think it's louder in T:S with more percussion to it or something.
All the ones on the first two releases aren't quite loud or prominent as the ones used for T:S titles and the trailers.
And if I'm not mistaken, the tempo might be faster in the T:S versions, slightly.

lol, as soon as i saw the @ and numbers, i figured it'd have to be a tag for some sort of page for "I'm gay".
The [:0] at the end confuses me.

The way I understand it, you can only tag people, pages, likes, groups that you are subscribed to.
My guess is that the [:0] is the protocol for subscribed/unsubscribed whereas in this case, the subscription is set to "false", "0".
which makes the tagging anonymous.
which could possibly be a leak/loophole in the privacy.
as i don't 'spect everyone who does it to already be subscribed or "like" the page "I'm gay"...

Now I expect facebook to change their coding again and fuckup fb yet again.......................... :eye:

I was a little disappointed there was no real use of Fiedel's theme in T3. Once I got over that I quite enjoyed a few cues from Beltrami's effort. He may not of used the theme but he used some of the same textures and sounds which was odd.
I never warmed up to Elfman's music at all. There's a few nice moments but it just sort of bored me for the most part.

Next time, we eat PETA

May I propose another one ?

We slowly kill PETA using Justin Bieber's discography. Then we roast them and have a nice BBQ.

Or we indulge ourselves in a collective fap party.

I never bought one. He wrote me a message on paper instead, but it got lost. I was homeless for a little while after high school so there's a lot of stuff that I wound up not hanging onto. I both wish I had one now and feel relieved that I don't. Such a sad little snapshot in time.

The only difference with this "slime" is that it can kill you. If you get out of this maze, just remember that the ooze you leave behind is a legacy of a survivor. It's his expression that makes it!

I feel like my sense of humor is a little off lately too. Not in a bad way, I think I'm finding more things funny that I usually would, and laughing harder at the stuff.

This place seems to have that strange effect on us.

I can't tell you how many times I think my chest is going to cave in from laughing at the most inane and bizarre things.

I'm fairly certain Doc does the same.

If you'd like I'd like to put something like on The CUckoo's Compilations blog. I'm going to redo that blog soon and just call it STS Compilations or something like that.excellent. it will be all original score tracks and suites, but maybe i'll do a bonus disc with rejected title songs, prague rerecordings, cover versions.

I think Silvestri was the first composer I listened to after Williams.yeah, same here. remember checking the back to the future ost out from the library and taping a copy. the ost was mostly various artists but it did have the silvestri overture. then later on i got the forrest gump score and played the shit out of that.

I was a little disappointed there was no real use of Fiedel's theme in T3. Once I got over that I quite enjoyed a few cues from Beltrami's effort. He may not of used the theme but he used some of the same textures and sounds which was odd.
I never warmed up to Elfman's music at all. There's a few nice moments but it just sort of bored me for the most part. i think they used fiedel's theme in the end credits and that was its only appearance in t3. elfman's score was meh, plus t4 had so many sound effects that the music was drowned out most of the time. i'm not too crazy about elfman doing straight up action music. i think he's better suited to bernard herrmannesque fantasy-action scoring.

Only 2 Silvestri tracks.

Didn't mind most of the songs though....except the Clapton track. Really didn't like that one.

No. I'm not awfully fond of his straight up action scores either. There's usually no soul to them.

Mission: Impossible had a handful of good moments.........Wanted was pretty decent though. I like the Russian feel he gave to it.

I honestly don't think I would've stuck with it if I'd tried when I was older. I just stopped eating meat so young that not eating it is the norm to me. It'd be more trouble than it was worth to eat it again, by this point.
