MUCH DELAYED UBER-SIZED 10 SONGS FEEDBACK POST!!!!
Wasting no time....let's get right down to the business at hand....
CHOCOLATE MISU # 7
TV SONG / Blue Man Group
That settles it. After hearing this and the tracks on IUs mix, I NEED to find more.
TELEVISION / Daft Punk
I have not heard this weird thang before. Neat.
EUROPOP / Eiffel 65
I was ready to skip before I heard it. I really didn't like that Blue song these guys did. I expected something similar.
I was wrong. This was all right. Silly me. :p
BEAUTIFUL NIGHT / Burden Brothers
This was decent. Didnt really catch me but didnt hurt either. No idea who these folks are? Whered you hear of them?
SWITCHBACK [KLAYTON REVISION] / Celldweller
I kinda really, really liked this.
SOCIAL ENEMIES / Orgy
This takes me back to my young cuckoo days. I used to frequent the local Goth club of the time. They played Orgy all the time.
The club is torn down now to make room for condos. :(
RINGFINGER / Nine Inch Nails
See the above comment.
NIN played some drunken secret shows at this club. Sadly I never got to see any of them. Would have been super cool though.
THESE THINGS / She Wants Revenge
Ive never heard anything by these guys before.besides a lack lustre Nightmare B4 X-mas cover.
I liked this though..I will seek out more.
WHERE WOULD YOU LIKE THEM LEFT? / Blaqk Audio
Kept thinking this sounds like Davey Hav---then I googled it. It is Davey Havok.
Nice. :D Im going to find more of this.
Im a fan of the later synthy stuff by AFI, rather than their early stuff.
BARREL OF A GUN / Depeche Mode
Depeche Mode had 3 EXCELLENT albums in a row. This was the last half of that trio. Ultra kicks ass.
Great mix. It slowly turned into more dark electronic music. Nice flow.
The Muhna Muhna Muppets album cover is false advertising.
I was expecting happy furry singing and dancing.

IU #7
SICKLY SWEET TOME
*Sigh*
Here we go, you monster.
:eye:
THE CREATIONIST / Kerli
This is quite charming and twinkly with a hint of the theatrics. Theres a little bit of Bjork influence in here.only I like this. Id listen to more.
FRECKLES / Sandy Fox
It almost sounds like Duck Tales. Not as bad I thought it might be.
FOLLOW YOUR DREAM / Valerie Stevenson
Kay.first one I had to skip after a minute and a half.
I2I / Tevin Campbell
Made it to the 1 minute mark.
THE TIP OF THE ICEBERG / Owl City
I liked this.
Very pleasant.
SMILE BOMB / Sara White
1 minutes. Title alone was enough to send me packing.
PONYO [ENGLISH NON-REMIX] / Noah Cyrus
:eye:
Mileys little sister, IU? Really?
Fetch me your pillow.
SON OF MAN / Phil Collins
I like this. Ive always like Phil Collins though.
Just seems like a nice guy with nice guy music.
LIGHT UP THE WORLD / Cast from GLEE
I should probably hurt you..but I was honestly expecting A LOT worse from GLEE.
Not that I liked it.but my expectiations were worse.
THE LEGEND OF ZELDA: MAJORAS MAKS [END CREDITS] / Koji Kondo
A fun mishmash of Zelda music is always good in my books. :)
Your trolling attempt to melt my brain was half a success.
I only NEEDED to skip threeand actually quite really liked 4 of the songs.
still.fetch me your pillow for trying. :eye:

Unnecessary "but was done before he stated to not bother so he gets it whether he likes it or not" Neg feedback
NEG #10
THE FUTILE / Say Anything
I bittersweet smile ran across my face as soon as I heard Maxs voice. I thought to myself this is the Negs last volume. Its been a good run. True story. 'Cept I was naked in real life.
LETTERBOMB / Green Day
This was my first favorite song off of American Idiot.
FAMOUS LAST WORDS / My Chemical Romance
Great song and album. As dark as it is, its strangely hopeful too. I dont remember if I ever got the chance to any MCR on any of my 10 SONGS. I always meant to put Mama on a few times. I think it got cut from all the mixes and the And All The Rest as well. :(
LIFE / Our Lady Peace
This song was HUGE in the Canadas. Dont know how much it was played in the U.S. Good ol Raine. :)
[COFFEES FOR CLOSERS] / Fall Out Boy
Ive never been much of a fan of FOB but this was pretty decent.
CRAZY / All
Its not Milo All but still good stuff.
YOU CANT COUNT ON ME / Counting Crows
Great lyrics. Counting Crows are a mystery to me beyond "Mr. Jones" and the song you put on an earlier volume.
THESE DAYS / Foo Fighters
What a wonderful song. The Foos at one of their best.
THE GOOD LIFE / Weezer
:swoon:
You just won the 10 SONGS.
EIGHT OF NINE / The Ataris
Nice way to finish. A little somber but not too much of a downer.
I really liked this volume. It was a nice, subtle way to finish your run. Ten songs that defined you to me. Most of these bands I think of you immediately when I hear them mentioned.
It's been a slice. :)

BUDARC #9
MONTAGUES & CAPULETS / Prokofiev
I hope you walk into rooms sporting your cape with this piece playing.
Romeo & Juliet. Love this piece.
IN THE HALL OF THE MOUNTAIN KING / Edvard Grieg
Love this piece the mostest though.
Always wanted to do an animated short to it.
NIGHT ON BALD MOUNTAIN / Mussorgsky
Such a wonderful piece. Im always looking for a another decent recording that isnt the Stokowski version.
PAVANE [FAURE] / Gabriel Faure
I quite like this. Never heard it before. I would listen to more of this fellas' work.
SERENADE / Schubert
So lovely. Could listen to this for hours.
ETERNAL SUNSHINE OF THE SPOTLESS MIND THEME / Jon Brion
Brion is highly underrated. His work is so soft and delicate yet so powerful.
ABANDONING THE WEDDING / Rolfe Kent
Never heard this score outside of the film (which Ive only seen once). Its quite nice. Reminds me of Brions score to Everything Is Illuminated. I love it.
PUPPET LOVE / CRAIG PLOTS / MALKOVICH SHRINE / Carter Burwell
One of my preferred Burwell scores. Im not fond of a lot of them but this is one of the ones I really do like.
LUX AETERNA / Clint Mansell
I always think I never want to hear this cue again. Feeling all those movie trailers and interwebs fanboys ruined itbut it still is a damn fine piece, isnt it?
THE PURSUIT END TITLES / Reinhold Heil & Johnny Klimek
This was cool. I forgot about this score. I had it but deleted it to make more room for other stuff. I should grab it again now that I have more room.
Great mix, bud!!! Im happy you did a classical themed one. One of my favorite submissions so far.
1 more bud to go and yours will be over. :(
Great cover too.
STS represent. XD

ADEN #5
Basil Poledouris mix
RIDDLE OF STEEL/ RIDERS OF DOOM [CONAN THE BARBARIAN]
Thomas used this one too. :D Wonderful choral cue.
I need to compile a list of doubles in the 10 SONGS project. That was one of the things I wanted to keep track of when I originally planned this thing. Doubles are interesting and cool to see us listening to the same thing.
MAGNETO [CHERRY 2000]
I quite like this score a lot. Very pleasing. A true gem that is finally getting the attention it deserves.
I love the Western thematic writing.something Poledouris didnt do enough of.
HOODED LOVE [CHERRY 2000]
Very floaty. Interesting choice. I hope you play this in your fap tent.
MAIN TITLE [ROBOCOP]
I always liked the satirical news theme here. Hilarious. Classic Verhoeven/Poledouris.
ACROSS THE BOARD [ROBOCOP]
Robocop was the first time I really noticed Poledouris music, so it has a special place in me heart.
FEDERAL NETWORK [STARSHIP TROOPERS]
More satirical Verhoeven/Poledouris.
Im always game for it.
KLENDATHU DROP [STARSHIP TROOPERS]
Excellent cue. The skittering violins subtly mixed into the background is great. This was the score that confirmed my love for Poledouris. Love that heroic theme.
MATTHEW QUIGLEY [QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER]
More people need to hear Quigley. I love it. One of Poledouris best.
Its like a quirky Western that almost sounds like Randy Newmans Toy Story score.
THE ATTACK [QUIGLEY DOWN UNDER]
God, I love these older on the range type of scores. The frontier type of horn arrangements. Makes me just want to jump on a horse and ride. XD
THE LEAVING [CONAN THE OBRIEN]
Wonderful way to finish your Poledouris tribute. Such a lush, beautiful piece. They dont write complex emotion like this anymore.
Bravo. Bravo.
Im sure it was VERY difficult to pick 10 cues to define your favorite Poledouris moments. You did well.
I had forgotten there was a 35 minute commentary track added on. :D
Im excited to listen to this when I have the time. I put it right on my desktop so I dont forget.

SPARKY #5
HORROR [INTRO] / Sparkedit [various]
Crikey. I never would have recognized the Dimension Logo. I love doing stuff like this as well.
WE DEFINITELEY need to work on edits and mixes together. The madness! THE MADNESS!!!! fap.
FIRE / James Newton Howard
JNH is one of my top 10 composers.
We should stand on a roof top in our undies and listen to this the next time there's a thunder and lightning storm.
ACID TEST DUMMY / Michael Giacchino
It was weird listening to this by itself. I only listen to my suite edit now, so I can make room for more scores. Giacchino is another top 10 fave.
This is all win so far.
END OF DAYS / John Debney
More top 10 composers! This is a great score.
Uses the same blueprint as Sleepy Hollow and Lesbian Vampire Killers.
SACRIFICIAL PROCESSION / James Horner
Interesting choice. Excellent one at that.
I never would have thought to include this on such a mix.
ELIZABETH OVERTURE / David Hirshfelder
This was cool. Really cool actually. Ive never heard it before.
Ill seek out more for sure.
SUPER 16 / Nue!
This is an obscure surprise. Nice. :D
Nue! was great, creepy stuff.
HALLOWEEN PRANK / Douglas Pipes
Everybody should have this score. Its so feckin good.
Why will no one hire Pipes for more projects. He proved his is more than worthy to do fun horror scores with smarts.
DAMIENS DELIVERANCE / Marco Beltrami
This score doesnt get enough credit for its quality.
Sure its not Goldsmithbut its still pretty feckin good.
Beltrami uses some really interesting and effectively creepy techniques on this score.
INSIDIOUS SUITE / Joseph Bishara
:rofldata: :rofldata:
Excellent. Too much fun. I love the edit.
I loved this mix. Made me want to go back to October and fap.
---------
Lye.Im leaving your Bond mix for later on when I have more room and time. Its a long one that deserves a post all to its own.so Im going to move onto your Arnie mix first.
LYE #9
INTRO/BAKERSFIELD / Harold Faltermeyer
Good ol 80s synth scores. They put me in a weird comfort zone. Glad you feel the same way.
PREDATOR MAIN TITLE / Alan Silvestri
Fuck yeah. Silvestri is an old favorite. I love that ol menacing militant brass writing Silvestri used so much. It even worked in Back To The Future somehow.
COMMANDO PROLOGUE/MAIN TITLE / James Horner
Im not so sure about this one. Too busy for my tastes. My loss. Horners a good composer. The more softer side of this piece is quite nice though.
BILLY STANDS ALONE / Alan Silvestri
MORE SILVESTRI!
http://4.bp.blogspot.com/-d9PlmZbEjKc/Ta2dn-euxII/AAAAAAAAAVM/i0-CmT1exik/s1600/happydance.gif
I love that action charge composing Silvestri would always do back then.
Starts off like all light and skiddish for a few bars sounding like its a little dog charging .then gets heavy and menacing like a BIG DOG just came around the corner.
THE POLICE STATION / Brad Fiedel
Was never too sure about Fiedels musical talent. He had a nifty ear for electronic textures and pulses though. and his Terminator theme is wonderful as well. Tragic in a weird way.
THE DREAM / Jerry Goldsmith
:D Our man Goldsmith.
Such a great score. Its so raw, dirty and brassy/percussive goodness.
THE MUTANT / Jerry Goldsmith
Same scoredifferent sound. Nice. :D
Very dream like and majestic. Makes me think of the dream scenes in Brazil for some reason.
RIDDLE OF STEEL/RIDERS OF DOOM / Basil Poledouris
A TRIPLE TAKE!!!!
Thats so awesome.
THE KITCHEN/THE ORGY / Basil Poledouris
Very Orff. Interesting cue to pick. It makes me nod my head left to right for some reason.
T2 THEME / Brad Fiedel
Like I said.its a beautiful theme. A classic.
I applaud you for this mix. An excellent throwback to the classic Arnie films. Good theme to work with. :D

NDI #1
EID MA CLACK SHAW / Bill Callahan
Have heard of this guy but hadnt heard any of his work until now.and I like it a lot. Great lyrics and pleasant voice. I particularily liked the dreaming of the perfect song verse.
TURNIN TO A BUG / Brendon Small
What was that?
Funny. Short and sweet..and the inspiration for the title and cover.
CHICAGO / Tom Waits
Im loving this album. Happy to hear someone else too. This album (and a few others) is the reason I wanted to start up all these new Nut blogs.
TERRIFIED HEART / Poe
That was kinda creepy. I replayed it at least 6 times in a row to figure it out. Oddyet strangely attractive.
DING DONG / Nellie McKay
I liked this quite a bit. Made me think of Sia, Norah Jones and Fiona Apple all wrapped into one.with deceivingly Im going insane lyrics.
Makes me wish I was in a musical or something..almost like the Its Oh So Quiet video.
VEGETABLES / Paul McCartney & The Beach Boys
Im surprised after 7 months of 10 SONGS and over 1000 songs, this is the first time someone has used The Beach Boys. I like. :)
THE ONE & ONLY / Birds Of Prey
 I like this song. Im glad you put it on your mix.
MARCELINES SONG / Rebecca Sugar
This was cute. Very stripped down recording but very intimate as well.
TOM THE MODEL / Beth Gibbons & Rustin Mann
Such a wonderful album. :) Beth Gibbons has the bestest voice.
COUNTRY DEATH SONG / The Violent Femmes
This is another group Im surprised never got represented on 10 SONGS until now. What a wonderful song to choose too. These guys bring back some good memories.
Great first mix! :D
Im happy you joined the 10 SONGS project. Its really neat to hear all the various unique tastes in musical voices all the shit-shooters have.
----------
Whew.that was a lot of music.
Doc and Tom...you guys get no feedback because you've been naughty..............and you're both done a long time ago.
---------- Post added at 01:58 AM ---------- Previous post was at 01:49 AM ----------
I set out to make the ugliest bastard I could. He ended up looking like Doc Brown.
:rofldata: :rofldata:
For a split second I thought you were going to take a hilarious uncalled for swipe at Doc.
-----
Nice job, man. :)
Clear and precise. You covered all grounds and I got a general idea of the game.
