Notice how both case applied to Japanese people caught inside Japan ? :smrt:. If I can be serious for a minute, though, if you think about it, it is not really worth it for them to try to prosecute people outside of Japan. first because few country have copyright laws as harsh as theirs, second because prosecuting people has a cost, and prosecuting a shitload of individuals all around the world without them being connected mean a lot of trials, which is not really cost effective, not accounting the damage made to the image of a brand. As for Anime, i rest my case. 12 years ago, Vandread was subbed in french. I knew the guy who did the timing for the subs, and we had the videos before anyone in the country.

6 months and a shitload of people downloading it later, Vandread was licensed by AB video, one of france biggest anime publisher at the time. all the while french anime mags thought at the beginning that no publisher would licence it. :rolleyes:

Region coding is a funny thing. I can't watch american DVDs (Region 1), but I can watch Japanese ones (Region 2, same as europe and arabia). that's the silliest thing. a little like planned obsolescence. Ergo I could in theory watch a shitload of anime legally (if I can find the DVDs on CDjapan), but the problem is that japanese DVDs have a bad case of being rip off, money wise. I remember the Saint Seiya Hades OVAs eps. one 30 minute episode by DVD. at more than 30� per disc. THAT was piracy. :notgood:

2 is good, the Kraken steals me heart. Davie Jones kicks ass with his organ.

The audio is ten times worth it.
The picture quality is quite nice.

Everytime I watch a BD movie for the first time, it always reminds me of the time I went to see it in theaters.
Or if I didn't see it in theaters, I always imagine that's what it would be like had I seen it in theaters.

Rogue has some really nice features. Especially the music.

Lighting, camera work, special FX, editing, music, sound, art direction, the craft of acting, writing and direction...even how the idea of the film was conceived.

They're the number one reason I buy movies and shows and don't just watch them on Netflix. I really really like knowing dumb little details about things so I get a lot of joy out of them.

I bought the Director's Cut of Guillermo Del Toro's Mimic today on Blu-ray.

They get all the traffic logs from the hosting sites, for every server then go through and find out every IP address.
Even if it's dynamic, it traces back to your ISP and then they hand over their traffic logs for your account, detailing all the traffic of what, where, who, when and what IP addresses you have used.

Files are deleted from public database, but not entirely.
It's held privately for any such investigations (or perverts working for the file sharing site).

With a few documents and red tape, they'll have you down to the very first time you created Facebook, shot the shit, tweeted your poop size, color and thickness.

They only need to track back a year for anything substantial that doesn't related to trusted sites, first.

They had the boxset, last one, but they took the poster out of it and the collectible keychain thing inside. :notgood:

I was watching it on DVD, and then family borrowed the DVD machine (back when we didn't have enough dvd machines) and then it just inexplicably disappeared ever since.

I think it may have fallen under the carpet or the couch, but no one will ever know...

so now i have everything up to the final disc :sad:

Yes, the dubbed version is quite enjoyable.
No real difference, they keep the translations relatively close to the original.

Easier on the eyes too.
The dvd's for those have funny and artsy subs for the Russian version.

I can get maybe 2 movies if I opt for the nonHD versions.

Capcom announced Ace Attorney 5. Didn't they announce it like 5 years ago? :rofldata: I guess they want to capitalize on Takashi Miike's movie. I am excited but I hope they actually focus on Apollo and the mysteries left open from the last game and don't make it all about Phoenix. Listened to some of the songs that Max wrote for his song shop. I don't even give a shit if he makes money off it. Nothing wrong with that. He leaves voicemails and even talks to the people who commission them directly. Asks them to contact him again and let him know if they liked it. They aren't always the most complex songs, but it seems like he uses what they tell him and he's just pretty earnest in general, so it works.

Yes, I think the soundtrack was improved which is a feat considering how good the 1st one was.

They probably had specific things they were looking for. Kamen Rider Agito and Blade are up there, all I really care about. I think I'm going to upload the other Heisei series soon too, since most of the direct download links are dead and not many people are seeding torrents. I want anyone who wants to watch them to be able to.

I'd have been bummed if Amethyst was deleted too, it's pretty hard to find and it's awesome. The first miniseries, anyway.

I've been watching Twin Peaks today. Kind of want to watch all of it, then Fire Walk With me, but man I haaaaate those episodes in season 2. Still one of the best shows ever. I need to make more Agent Cooper gifs.

Actually I should shave. Right now I look like a mix between a geek, an islamist terrorist and a columbian drug dealer. initially the beard thing was because I played a lot of dwarves in RPGs, so I just let the beard grow to avoid stupid question and remarks like "you don't have beard and yet you play a dwarf. now they only wonder when I'll break the explosives and Kalashnikovs out. they're always disappointed when the first thing I take out of my bag is a...Dr Pepper. Nowadays I just have a beard because I'm too fucking lazy to shave.
