They're disgusting but surprisingly effective. More so than coffee, though I'll take coffee over them any day. They don't really make you feel caffeinated, just awake, though they never last me as long as 5 hours. I have them pretty rarely but they have helped me work when I didn't get any sleep.

Redbull ain't my thing. even worse since I've learned where that taurine shit comes from. it's an hormone taken from bulls intestines. Drinking Redbull more or less equates drinking bull's intestine juice. I know taurine can be found in other stuff, but not at the concentration you find it in a can of RB. I'll stick with my "death wish" coffee recipee: for one cup...2 spoons of coffee. 3 if I'm extra tired.

4 if I'm in the second day of a RPG convention.

Still have to beat my own record of 72 goblets of coffee in 3 days.

Redbull ain't my thing. even worse since I've learned where that taurine shit comes from. it's an hormone taken from bulls intestines. They're disgusting but surprisingly effective. More so than coffee, though I'll take coffee over them any day. They don't really make you feel caffeinated, just awake, though they never last me as long as 5 hours. I have them pretty rarely but they have helped me work when I didn't get any sleep.

all i can remember the most right now was that i was in a school and we were all packing up for some major event.
we all discussed breaking up into teams and filling our back packs with essential things.
it all seemed very serious, none of us smiled at any point.
the bell rang, so we all left the classroom, but i was still packing my bag after switching some things.
i remember feeling confused why everyone was still acting normal. the students just coming into class seemed just so oblivious.
i finally left the classroom, only find out I'm missing my shoes and one sock.
it was weird going back into the classroom looking for them. the students, mostly teenage girls, were in the middle of changing all the desks around.
weird, compact formations with the desks, i felt claustrophobic crawling on the floors looking for my shoes and socks. and a little bit of a pervert as one of the girls was staring at me. The rest didn't care.
mismatched socks. Why? 'cus that girl could not stop watching me.

leaving the school and walking home, it was the same neighbourhood, same route i always take in my dreams. even the same 7-11, which is never just a 7-11. it's a poorly lit convenient store/gas station. i went for the usual, browsing the energy drinks and a small bag of the usual chips. since it's a dream, it's impossible to read letters and numbers~ (so scientists say) it's usually some sort of cheesy puff.

i also remember going through the mall. the same mall in my dreams. well, an older mall. small. with only a few stores. the bigger mall in my dreams requires me to take the skytrain (canada's subway transit system) to the larger part of the city.
this small mall has a neat little store for getting those model kits of your favorite super hero, comic universe items, movie universe items. i remember being in there before in my dreams and looking at some cool star wars replicas.
(from another dream visiting this store) the best thing was, it was available in 2 formats: prebuilt by one company, or an assembly kit by another company. i was about to buy a prebuilt item, until the 2 workers told me that its best to assemble it yourself. the prebult ones were weak and broke easily and didn't include as much detail as the user-assembly items.
upon remembering that note and how much money i had left, i decided to leave and continue my way home.
(in this dream universe continuum) it's unusual. in my dreams, i have several "homes". one where i live with my family, and one where i live with my friends who have 2 kids. i actually don't really think i live at either place. i'm always visiting them. when i visit my friends, we're all talking about the serious ongoings that i've encountered from the beginning of the dream, and their two kids are always busy trying to keep my attention. when i visit my mom, it always has a sense of urgency. i'm always telling her the dangers of whats going on and we usually high-tail it immediately.
i went to my friend's place. and after spending some time with them, they all packed their things and we split up after. we took separate cars and i continued to my mom's place.
(on cars) it's unusual for me to drive in my dreams. i don't have my license in real life. usually when i'm in a car, it's with a friend or family. the driving is always serious too :laugh: always a bad feeling on the road. this time it was just me. last time it was me and my friend.
my mom and i ended up pulling up to this walking trail.
(walking trails) a lot of times it's the same park/way out/way in to the town or city. the trails are always the same. there's different routes to take depending where you want to go. the way in or out of town usually requires dealing with patches of water. there's a small lake with a bridge, a rickety, breaking bridge on one side of the town. the path we took lead to another small lake. but instead of a bridge, it was very risky. it required stepping on sunken trees and a very narrown high-rise bridge. sometimes there's a little wooden make-shift boat there. most often the trails leading in or out of the town involve wild animals. sometimes bears, sometimes lions, and sometimes elephants? i can't remember the other animals. mostly lions, bears and ohmy. it's always no cars, it's always walking (because of the water).
it was really dark, but we had to push on. i took point lead using my cell phone to light the path. holding it above my head, while arched, we walked slowly and quietly forward to the water. it was really dark. freakishly dark. looking into the woods you can't see much. only their eyes. luckily there was nothing in the woods tonight. the path was more decayed than ever. it's been a very long time since i've been down this trail. it looks different. the water has enveloped more land.
when we arrived at the foot of the lake, we panicked. the "stepping trees" were nearly all gone. further apart and only the weaker branches stuck out. the narrow wooden bridge that was 25 feet above the water was still there. if only we could make it there.

we were fucked. my mom wanted to try and make it across using the weak branches. they formed a feasible path to the bridge. i said no, look how weak they are! so we waited.


from midnight dark to early morning bleak, the water froze overnight. we stood at the foot of the lake again, wondering if it was safe to cross.
my mom wanted to go straight to the other side. i wanted to go far enough to reach the bridge. more people began to show up. they started across the lake. my mom told me it was safe enough so she joined them. then more and more people showed up. the girl who stared at me in the classroom started to cross the lake. some went for the bridge, others went directly across. i started to panic. this was too much people. i turned around to look down the path, there were so many people. i started to warn them all. my mom was half way across the lake, close to the bridge. i looked at the ice, there was still some water on top that wasn't frozen. the thick of the ice was frosted, it looked shiny in some patches due to the unfrozen water. i looked again and there were even more people on the lake and the bridge. i tested the ice with one foot. it felt sturdy enough. for one. not for the others who want to cross at the same time.
i really started to panic. some people were running, straight from the path to the ice.

i think what happens is that in the very few seconds from sleeping to waking up, the brain acts so quickly that it fills in those parts.
you know when you wake up, dreams slowly come back to you? you know when you're asleep you can always "feel that it's so real"?
i think that in dreams all that stuff is gone. just abstract visuals that your mind fills in later as you wake up.
i think that in that small window of waking up, your brain replays everything, including the sensations. and the data that's missing is filled with whatever you associate that abstract visual with in real life.
like life flashing before your eyes~
i don't think there's ever an accurate way of fully understanding dreams and how people perceive them. there's no solid method to monitor dreams like in movies with fancy high-tech gadgetry. the only thing we have is memory.
and when the mind works much faster than we can compute, there's so much that can happen in the very short time from waking up to being fully awake.
i remember reading some stuff. but it was all blurry and just jargon. none of it made sense, but I knew what it was about, what would've said.
there's ever so few instances where I read anything in my dreams.
