At least the next one has a few good points for him already:

1.They got rid of the parody of Duke that was Channing Tatum. I like the guy, he might be a good actor in other movies (don't really know), but he ISN'T Duke.

i finally saw tintin.

i thought it was awesome. it totally made up for the mediocre stench of crystal skull.

this film is 100% cgi and yet had more soul and humanity than half of the rubbish live-action adventure films coming out now.

was awesome how spielberg did a sword fight with giant cranes. beat that, michael bay

plus, the 1st new williams score in a few years. he only gets better. his music never stops evolving, though there's always certain signature elements and devices that remind you it's a williams score.

can't wait to watch war horse

This was one of my favorite moments in the entire series. Had no idea it was coming and it was just so awesome. Sort of thing I think I'd almost certainly get spoiled on now. It would've been awesome anyways.


I'm no expert in The Big Bang Theory or the scheduling of TV series, but I think the second season I downloaded of TBBT is completely out of order.

From what I've seen TBBT isn't very good with continuity anyways. Actually, this seems true for most laugh track sitcoms, except HIMYM. I guess maybe they're designed so that people can just watch one whenever instead of regularly? Probably why they tend to get better ratings than the show I actually like. ;)

That seems to be a thing with all the Transformers movies, at least when people see them in theaters. People always seem to like them more at first, even if they weren't a big fan. It's like their awfulness has to sink in on people.

I think Bay's cinematography is stunningly awful, but maybe it really is something about seeing them on the big screen.

i am a spielberg fanboy. aside from hook and crystal skull, i love just about everything he does. okay, wasn't as crazy about minority report or war of the worlds but maybe that had more to do with the dwarf than spielberg. but next to kubrick, i'd say he's the greatest director of the last half century, hands down. there's basically 2 types of spielberg films. the popcorn adventure (jurassic park, ET, etc) that doesn't ask too much of the audience intellectually, and the heavy drama (color purple, empire of the sun, schindler). he can direct the shit out of either type of film. i'd say that, aside from scorcese and a few others, not many directors can do that so well.

I feel really weird and anxious right now. Don't know why. I had a really nice day and felt great up until maybe an hour ago.

I have an idea for a story I'm excited about but I don't want to work on it at night because it keeps freaking me out. :laugh: Hope it turns out spooky and not just goofy, it could go either way. The stuff that creeps me out is weird. Still want to work on something longer but I have no good ideas for long stuff. I've been reading a bunch of books hoping for inspiration, but all I've really noticed is that a lot of recent books sort of seems like fanfiction. Even when they're reasonably well written. I read a book yesterday that seemed Supernatural/Buffy crossover. It even had characters named Will Rosenberg and Cas. ; ;

Wish I had a 10 songs to use this as the cover for! Still need to do my relationship and leftovers.

You should use the 10 songs leftovers to get you through writing the creepy story. Even at night.
Let it be your motivator in times of questionable confidence.
The mere occupancy of another project will only keep you predetermined in accomplishing one task, at the very least.
Should one prove too much, you'll have the other to fall back and all in all, a night well spent.

Just keep interchanging your focus from the story to the 10 songs.
Spending too much time on one subject can run dry after awhile.

Just like kids need a 15 minute recess to run in the fields only to get back on the fields for the Phys Ed.

Saw Dark Shadows this weekend. It was a hoot. Very silly in spots, but very tense in others. The ratio of comedy to drama shifts over the course of the film until the end is pretty much played straight.
Reviewed a ton of background data on the original series, and they went a long way to cover a LOT of ground covered in the original series.

Okay, 10 seconds into the clip and already feel like I should stop :ashine:

The music... sounds... :erm: A little serene and dramatic, not overthetop dramatic for quilting and book clubs. But dramatic as in... Nature Discovery show or something.

Secondly, while the graphics look good and the ship looks presentable...albeit not in its natural 3D state... the sfx, for the briefest of seconds sounded a lot like something from Skywalker Studios. The resemblance to a republic cruiser is a little unsettling.

The video is available to download from Apple Quicktime Trailers site.

I shall download it and save it for a later time, should I gain enough courage to continue watching the clip.
Or abandon any further curiosity in the film's making and wait for the theatrical presentation.

That 3-parter was a fantastic season finale. So much character stuff going on it was insane.


Saw Dark Shadows this weekend. It was a hoot. Very silly in spots, but very tense in others. The ratio of comedy to drama shifts over the course of the film until the end is pretty much played straight.
Reviewed a ton of background data on the original series, and they went a long way to cover a LOT of ground covered in the original series.

I might also add that the new implementation of x64 is greatly appreciated as I've felt that running this program on my x64 laptop bared no relevant difference than running on any ol' x86 platform.

I've pretty much given up on any form of sweets since the beginning of this year in favor of fruits. Now to do the same thing with pastries and cookies will be harder. otherwise my meals are pretty healthy: smaller portion, but better stuff (lots of vegetables too.).

Other than the embarrassingly stupid Gametrailers.com review and Eurogamer review I haven't read, Seems like I placed my faith correctly in this game rather than Diablo III.

This game is ABYSMAL. The story is bad, the textures are nonexistent, the voice acting is terrible, the writing is terrible, Max never shuts up, and dear god this game is visually offensive. During every cutscene (and during some gameplay) there are these blue scanlines that keep flashing on the screen and stupid popup words. All sorts of visually awful things, it's like Rockstar saw Kane and Lynch 2 and said "this is what we want visually." The gameplay is ok, what little of it there is. This game does the whole MGS thing except even worse because every 4 minutes of gameplay (sometimes less) you run into a cutscene. I have NEVER in my life had gameplay interrupted more times than during Max Payne 3. all in all I can't recommend this game at all to anyone. It's pretty bad.

Story sucked, characters sucked. Can't remember anything else about it. Not wort the time.

I'm the worst kind of gamer as far as the companies are concerned. I don't play shooters, FIFA, RTS, I hate stealth games, I don't play online very much, I very rarely buy DLC.

My fave games of all time: Zelda OoT, Red Dead Redemption, DQ VIII.

Some days I wonder why I still keep reading the magazines.

But I do. I live in hope.

Max Payne and its sequel were both awesome (I was actually playing Max Payne a few day before its release, thanks to a then leaked copy of the game). At most, I have 40 PC games. all generations. I could literally make a list from memory. I did. from memory. which means it IS incomplete. I pretty much gave up on games after Max Payne 2. this one was sufficient for my needs.

I kinda liked it. It was different from the generic FPS that I usually avoid. I loved the visual aspect of it.

That's the same thing for me. I've never much followed magazines recommandations, nor websites. If I can have some fun while playing a game, then I'm a happy docrate.

Fun meaning lots of killing and looting. hence my unconditional love for Fallout 2 and the Baldur's gate games. And Max Payne (in a way).

Once I had a cable guy just not show up. It was depressing. He didn't even call! But, I got the initial fees waived and like 3 months free, so it mostly worked out. Mostly.

Theres not really a lot of games coming out that I know of this year.

This month's Max Payne 3 and Assassin's Creed 3 in like October or November. Theres also RE6.


About the beta. In my modest opinion, It just didn't capture the style of Diablo. The music was kinda like the Lord of Destruction soundtrack, only less epic. There really wasn't any tense pieces like Diablo II's dungeon themes. The UI was a bit of a drag at first but I got used to it. The class abilities were neutered. The bevy of options players had to make their own type of warrior really suffered because of it. The armor and weapons looks too fantasy inspired compared to Diablo's more realistically styled sets (the saving grace for that portion is the armor now makes major cosmetic differences). Potions now have a cooldown but they do more than they should. You now no longer have to ration out town portal scrolls and identity scrolls, because now you can do it unlimited times. Basically it reminded me of a slightly darker WoW with blood.

Probable. Matter of fact, it's not a bad thing, as most "basic" military ordinance from the CCCP era was sturdy as hell. THe T72 isn't perfect, but it's sturdy, efficient for its purpose, and still quite lethal.

As for the golden mp5...well...:erm: this might be relevant to the desires of any crazy dictator. Saddam had golden AK 47, after all, and I'm pretty sure the same kind of stuff was found in Lybia. Gunporn is the rich dictator's porn.

I've been toying with a Tintin suite.

From the "blueprints" it seems like it'll be easier than War Horse.

Either one Williams or the other.

There's A LOT of good material in Tintin. Quite a challenge.

Some composers are harder to suite than others.

Elfman, Herrmann, Goldsmith and Williams are all very difficult for me for some reason.

The tablet, and also the xbox 360, are limited in terms of the full capability that is youtube.
While those devices can accommodate the simplistic needs of the general youtuber, it's not entirely designed in smaller proportions for the typical uploader or channel manager.

The smaller ports of youtube are designed mostly to deliver video and play, as most technically inefficient beings have complained for numerous years when they joined the hype in miniature media, such cellular phones or, jeeboo forgid... iPods.
