I remember stuff weird sometimes. I have some memories, mostly from when I was a kid, that I am pretty certain never happened. There are also events that I only remember because I remember things that happened around them and not the event itself.

I can remember being a small kid and not understanding how it was possible to forget something, since if you remembered something one day, you couldn't just forget it on the next one. All of that is still pretty strange!

Most of the finer details of Xenogears' plot vacate my brain the moment I finish a playthrough.

RPG's usually overcomplicate their plots. You'd need a degree in geek to follow some of them. Fortunately, most of us here have. :-P

We had VHS players. I don't know anyone that had Betamax, tbh I don't know if it ever came out over here. Maybe the war was fought over there and the victor sailed across the waters.

We got rid of our BETA in '86 or '87. The same year "Stand By Me" was released for home viewing because I remember that being the last video we had for BETA.

I didn't think it had survived that long. I remember going with my mom to rent a VHS player (yea, rent, they cost more than a black market kidney to buy) and there were def no betamax's in the shop. I was about 9 or 10, I think. Can't remember the first video we got. I remember watching Conan so many many times that the tape started to wear out and the sound would disappear at certain points because I had rewinded that scene so many times.

I've only played I & II...i quite liked them....

I loved them. Once Roxas was out of the picture and Sora got to kick some shadowy ass the second one got good.

II's intro is confusing as FUCK, even if you played Chain of Memories (which I did). I just didn't like that they went the This person is really this person and this person is this person's Nobody angle.

Just feels like lazy, confusing writing, to me.

The first one was perfectly fine. Thought they built shit around Sora pretty well. II started in with the Nobody shit and you just played out the stories for the Disney characters as they happened in the movies.

I've heard that's Disney's fault for handcuffing Squeenix in terms of writing new content for its characters, but still.

I could talk about this stuff all day if no one stopped me. I think it's okay to forget things as long as we have experienced and catalogued the emotion that accompanied it, and have learned something about ourselves as a result. Hopefully we can apply that to make a more informed decision about something in the future.

I saw E.T. when it first came out in theaters and then again when it first got released on BETA. Haven't seen it since. Even as a kid, I never really liked it.

Guns are bad for the kids and so is Han killing Greedo yet they both made raiders of the Lost Ark with Ford (Han Solo) just pull out his gun and shoot the sword guy. He didn't attack or nothin', he could have just been some street performer and Indy shot him. I guess Lucas and Spielberg feel that rubber greedos are more worthy of mercy than arabs or something.

Audacity for 64 bit is still in beta but I've just discovered the thing I used to use for recording audio doesn't work under Windows 7. :sad:

I have that window but not those options. Been in there. My sound-card is an external usb device and it adds various options and then I have the on-board sound as well. I have about 8 different things to choose from in both drop down menus. :sad: Feck. It'll be trial and error. Nice looking program though.

I use a mix of Wavepad & Audicity to perform a lot of audio tricks.

Mix that with Ableton and I've got my own little studio to record with. :)

I have a program for trimming, converting, fade in/out or even for reversing individual channels (it has some fun outcomes) but not for overlapping. I'm hoping they finish that audacity beta soon. :D

I'm now able to record dvd audio with the Wave thing you sent me to and then edit it in the other program. It's sexy.

You'll maybe have really vivid dreams being so tired. Or maybe that's just me? I do all-nighters all too frequently and I have really bizarre and vivid dreams when I do eventually fall over.

I've been doing one night 2-3 hours sleep...the next 7-8....and going back and forth.

I think it's taking it's toll on me. Last night after signing out of here, I ended up watching 4 episodes of Angel and working on music till 7 am got up at 10am and now I'm tearing apart my place and putting it back together again. I'm finding the best stuff too :D

Sometimes when I'm really tired I wake up again over and over, or at least I think I do. Might just be dreaming. I hallucinate then sometimes (or have realistic dreams) and it's all really weird. Think visual and auditory hallucinations are par for the course if you go long enough about sleep, though. I'll let you guys know what I dream about!

I own an extensive collection of pornographical books and videos and I am proud to say it is the only genre I read. Despite what the title says about the book being loaded with images that you shouldn't masturbate to, I bought it anyways to see how the rest of the world lives through reading a single page without the aide of some good old self love. Much to my surprise, I found that this book is actually one of the kinkiest collections of pornography I have ever laid eyes on. Just look at that man on the cover for example. One of my (many) fetishes happens to be naked old men chopping through ice with axes. Imagine my surprise when I saw that the cover of this very book caters to this specific taste. Thank you so much to authors Johnson and Hibbert for this amazing book.

I'm tearing apart my place and putting it back together again. I'm finding the best stuff too :D

It makes me wonder how many of the pictures in that book has been in STS.

I write some of my scariest stuff when I haven't been sleeping. Last night, I freaked the hell outta myself by jotting something down. It's fun. :) I just wish I could find places to use some of this stuff. :(

I thought of a really weird little story last night, not sure if I'll write it or not. Sort of a Groundhog's Day thing where someone tries to commit suicide, but wakes up again the next day and nothing happens. Really little small things seem off about the world, like people missing habits like playing with their hair, or things not being exactly where they remembered them. They'll try to kill themselves more times and I have two different ideas about where to take it from there. Either the world will get more and more off each time, or it'll continually be small differences and they'll start trying to track the differences and to test to see if there's anything that will change them coming back like normal. In this version they'll start tracking names of people who've recently died and seeing if any of them are dead when they wake up again.

Explaining it badly but I really just have that unstructured lump of ideas right now!

There's so many interesting details and possibilities you can work into that idea. :D

Yup! I usually get some small seed of an idea and just write down notes until I have a good idea of how I want the story to go. I'm usually really unhappy with my writing if I don't do this first. I think not knowing where I'm going with something changes my writing style.

I definitely thought that as the story progressed it would become more about curiosity and experimentation then about actually wanting to die. Would be neat to start it from a really dark place and take it to a happy ending.

We do need a new "writing" thread.

Based off of Ndi's idea, it got me thinking.

What she told us was just scratching the surface of what she probably has planned for it. Doc, you all ready started brainstorming as to what you'd do with it with the world becoming a better place. My first thoughts were to set it during Christmas time somewhere during the late 1800's). ......but to the point........what if we come up with one single, simple idea and all try to come with a short story based off that idea and see what we all come up with.

That's a fantastic idea. I'm in. A word limit is maybe a good idea. Not an exact one but a guideline.
