The Director's Cut version of Alien and the AVP SNES game showed that a human can be turned into an egg. However, the cut scene in Alien was a scrapped idea, and should not be considered entirely canon.

i always considered it canon. it is mentioned in the alien novelization as well. perhaps only the drone type in the 1st film was capable of doing this with his stinger tail...whereas warriors and runners maybe couldn't do it, since we never see it happen in the sequels

i think the predators are largely responsible for spreading the xenomorphs around the galaxy. this might explain why their stories are so intertwined.

I thought it was going to be Buredoran but I googled the Kanji and got Gosei Black. It's bizarre though, all his other sentai roles are translated normally. English wiki confirms it though.

i bet there were dog aliens on LV 426 in the first wave taking out the colonists. once they were done their job, the drones and warriors probably took over.
My understanding is that the aliens mimic the DNA of whatever their host was. that is, the alien in Alien was humanoid because it was built out of John Hurt, and the ones in Aliens were built out of colonists. The later ones originated from other creatures. So, unless they got a lot of puppy dogs, they wouldn't be any to attack with.
Dan O'Bannon's original concept, (long since modified by many further hands,) was that they were bugs, in that they don't really think or plan so much as react and function on instinct. So their take down of the colony would be less like a structured military campaign and more being overwhelmed by an ever growing army that they weren't equipped or trained to fight. (And that DIDN'T fight like humans.) If there had been marines stationed there it's unlikely they'd have gotten nearly as far as they did. (Although the death toll would still have been horrendous.)
The queen was Cameron's idea, but again, based on the implications of O'Bannon's concept. O'Bannon's treatment included the idea that after it had started the new eggs, it went into the escape pod to curl up and die...it's job was done. That it was the only thing to survive the explosion was a coincidence.

I remember the toys I had of the Aliens were awesome. Gorilla, Drone and the Scorpion was my favorite. I miss them ; ;

I always wondered why the franchise didn't venture out into other parts of the universe.
The comics heavily focus on planets where Marines go and where Predators also go.
Please don't pay any attention to toy designers. They're not writers, and their priorities are what their focus groups think will sell, and not what makes any sense.

If they adapt to the species they alienate and assume a hybrid form of them, then why do they all look the same?

Howdy fuckers 2: the angry french bearded futureman strikes back.

Saw spidey 3D yesterday. if you remember I was quite reserved on that one. especially on the story, on Parker's interpret, etc, etc.

Well I was wrong.

good movie, discreet, but efficient and exciting use of the 3D technology (especially in some first person view webslinging). Garfield as a nerdy, shy and anxious Parker, who has trouble adjusting to life without his parents is surprising. even more when it comes to discovering his power. I must admit I found him more credible as spiderman than Maguire. that and no waking up with surprise muscles. but the discovery of his power is quite a fun part of the movie. Emma stone is a surprising Gwen Stacy, strong spirited, with an over protective father.

As for the "bad guy"...he's probably one of the most interesting aspects of the movie. let's just say that Rhys Efans is really good at the good doctor/mad scientist thing. they really made his character in a form of reptilian Jekyll and hyde.

Good movie, good story, good score.

i'm guessing there were at least a few pet dogs living amongst the colonists. so it's safe to assume there were some runners on LV-426 but we just don't see them in the film.

Maybe they just used the humans as hosts and any other animal was used as food? The human alien does seem to be a bit better than the dog one so they might prioritize what they sex and what they eat.

i think the alien species evolved (or was designed) to be very versatile. this explains all the various methods of reproduction. i don't think predalien, egg morpher drones, or the queen were ever meant to contradict one another. it only shows how complex and specialized the species can be. for instance the dog/ox alien never even tries to harvest humans. he just wants to kill everyone he sees. this shouldn't contradict the behavior of the drone in alien or the warriors in aliens. he is a scout/hunter whose sole purpose is to take out enemies. clean up the armed opposition so the drones and warriors can come harvest the defenseless for facehugging.

The dog/bull was also a long unit. There's nothing to harvest so it just went natural and hunted to eat and play.

I watched The Newsroom. It's like a less funny The Office, but in a good way. And can't fault them for trying to put a message of real journalism behind it, even if it comes off a little depressing
