So, this car is stopped in the middle of the street I need to go down. They have no turn signal on. It's a pretty narrow road. As such, they're completely blocking me and I have to go up one and turn around. Turns out they needed to go the same direction, and took great offense to me not taking my initial turn! Of course, they followed behind with their horn blazing.
Road rage is so pointlessly lulz most times. They were blocking the road and gave no indication of where they needed to go via signal, but of course I was the asshole in the situation. Sorry that I made your important trip all of 5 seconds longer because you were hogging the road, guys~

douchebag redneck with teaparty stickers on his truch tailgates me on a 2 lane road because no one will let him over to pass me, even though i'm doing at least the speed limit. he starts flashing his high beams and doing that swervey asshole thing. finally passes me and speeds by in his loud truck (it's got the giant offroad tires that generate 10000 dB). at the next stop light, guess what? there he is. all the rage but he didn't get any further than me.
Lunchbox McGillicuddy
05-27-2011, 03:28 AM
Yeah, that happens all the time. Dudes swerve over to the other lane, speed ahead, get back in front of me - and they inevitably get stuck at the same light I do. I don't get the hurry. Sometimes I figure people must be late for work or something truly important, but speeding really doesn't do much good outside of the interstate. Too many stops.

People with lots of bumper stickers tend to be bad drivers in general, I think, although band bumper stickers don't really apply here. Most terrible drivers I see either have cars covered in anti-abortion and Jesus bumper stickers or Wicca/Gaia Love/Vegetarianism bumper stickers. If I see someone driving really badly without bumper stickers they are probably old.

He's younger looking even though by traveling through time you age normally which means if you return at the same point that you left you'd be older which means MJF is actually like 50.
He probably just dyes his hair. They look really similar, which is pretty obvious. Hence my original comment.

I often find that if there's a red light up ahead instead of going at normal pace and slamming the breaks I just cut the throttle and gently tap the breaks so I'm down to 10 mph it'll turn green and I've only gradually slowed down instead of start and stop harshly all the time.

My god that's so totally true that even Jedi can get aboard that absolute.

I used to live in Vermont, back in 2004. I lived in Brattleboro, specifically, which is right next to both the Mass and New Hampshire borders. I had Comcast Cable Internet then and no internet issues. I'm certain there are parts of the state where you can't get good internet just because they're so isolated, but I imagine most places are probably fine.
I think New England in general is a pretty decent place to live, aside from the winters.

Even if you don't mind the cold, the winters can be really problematic because of both the damage they do to the roads and how difficult the roads can be to drive on for a good chunk of the year. Not a reason to rule a place out- I've almost exclusively lived in places with nasty winters- just something to take into consideration.

I would like to think we will reach a utopia like we've seen in the Star Trek universe but logic says after thousands of years of brutality toward each other it just can't end with out centuries of gradual tolerance.

well, in the star trek universe it took a major world war in the mid 21st century to finally get people to "snap out of it" and wake up. i hope it doesn't come to that, but sometimes i think it might take our near-extinction to truly make us evolve.

but yeah, some days i think humanity is far more likely to end up in a dystopian state of being, like the mad max series.
For the record lye, I've been perfectly civil here, tonight. This isn't the only place I post.
Plus, I like to try to be nice to new people <3

i never said you weren't being civil. i'm sorry if i've offended you. these are entirely my views, and i respect you for having different views. the constipation comment was a joke about the gif you just posted, nothing more. if it bothers you or anyone else on here, i will not smother y'all with my political views anymore. i'm sorry if i've offended anyone. and you can be mean if you like, it won't hurt my feelings. i'm sorry i called you negative.

anyway, it's hard to be positive in this insane and illogical world.
Why would you be sorry for calling me negative? It is my name. Just didn't want you to think that what I've said in the last little while was the worst I can output. Was more a question to those who (unfortunately) know me and could extrapolate the kind of mood I'm in.
I'm all for people feeling differently. Doesn't bother me a bit. If I feel like I'm being too much of a shit I do have willpower to vacate for a while.
I know full well, Rob.

please don't vacate. i like your posts, even when you're talking about japanese tv shows i know nothing about. and yeah, it can be hard in cyber land to "read" people's moods and tone and what-not.

I'd say the average age nowadays is probably somewhere between late 20's and early 30's. We don't get so many youngins here anymore and the forums have been around so long that a lot of us have grown up with them.
I'm 27.

Neg you don't look that old in photos that I've seen. :) I have babyface up until around 2007 but I think loosing my mom, then uncle and now my grandmother has taken it's toll.
44 chronologically...21 on good days...88 on really bad days.
