I think it's best to watch the Director's Cut first. Before watching the original.
I find that the movie plays out better.

I watched Paul DC, Salt DC, etc. Lots of what I download in 1080p to convert to DVD was director's cut and they always came out better than the theatrical version.

DC is the intended version but smelly corporate panzies say they need to cut some stuff to make it enjoyable for THE WHOLE FAMILY THAT SHOULDN'T BE WATCHING THOSE SORTS OF MOVIES BECAUSE LET'S FACE IT, THEY'RE ONLY GOING TO WATCH IT ONLINE FROM A SHIT CAMCORDER ANYWAYs.

Docrate was right about the Tekken movie. Not bad, but a tad under-wrought in the acting. What happens when stuntmen are the lead actors, I suppose. The fights were great though since the choreographer is a parkour guy and he made it look almost real without too much Hollywood gloss. Jin moves through them bitches though they could have cut out the first one entirely as she is only there to explain why he isn't around when his mother dies (He was banging the girlfriend at the time). Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa was a pretty good Heihachi though it's too bad his age probably kept him from any fight scenes. He was old in Mortal Kombat, so he must be extra brittle by now. Lateef is so spot-on for Eddy, it's a shame he only has like 7 minutes total screen-time. The story changes didn't bother me. They would have to change it up since Tekken always jumps back and forth between serious and totally weird. Also I must have blinked or they just plain forgot to show what happens to the Williams sisters. They just disappear in the 3rd act.

2 in reality, but i enjoyed it thanks to low expectations.

That was actually my first time watching a movie in the theatre with the Pulfrich glasses. :awsm:
Spectacular!

Some parts are choppy. Due to the low frame-rate. NTSC-FILM is 24000/1001 (23.976, rounded off).

When it shows the camera running along the actors in a chase scene in the woods, the fast motion, the trees, the film-rate...

makes it difficult for the Pulfrich :laugh:

But the rest was good.

Really makes me wonder how The Hobbit will look like in theatres with double the framerate.

PJ wants the FrameRate to be 48~FPS.

Which is good, because this means that the faster motion/action scenes, such as a chase through an environment where skinny and thin objects placed between the actors and the camera will be more noticeable and easier to track to the human eye.
And will do wonders for 3D.

Before ANYONE goes to see it, I'm going to investigate in the theatres that can technically support the new framerate.

PJ says that theatres will be upgrading their technology to support the desired framerate so the movie can be viewed as intended.
And that it will also be available in the standard FILM framerate where theatres do not support this technology.
Which means the film must be mastered in twice: @23.976FPS and @47.952047952047952047952047952048FPS.

I'm hoping that somewhere here, one of the theatres will have the new upgrade, albeit an arm and a leg just to see it :eye:

48FPS is largely misunderstood.

Lots of people say they have tried HFR (Higher Frame Rates), but it's largely dependent on the hardware to properly decode and replay it on the screens.

Youtube doesn't support different framerates.
And I don't know about other websites.

I don't believe there should be sites that support different framerates, as this will just fuck everything for technically-illiterate people (AKA 99.9999% of the population that has technology).
No one's going to be able to encode to the proper 48~FPS. Instead, they'll just double the speed and say that's 48~fps.
And most people will say that it's an even 48 :eye: No.

From the encoding of the video (cameras, especially), to the player machine setup and capability, to the hookup cords, to the TV and the TV settings, there's a lot that can happen from the footage to the screen to screw things up.

It's a very delicate technology that most consumers just don't understand, nor have the diligence to learn.

We're still in the age where people are confused about VCR's because:
A) we still have generations that grew up on VCR's and still never learned how to hook them up
and
B) we have new generations that don't even know what a VCR is since it's not a part of their iPhone.

PC games average about 60fps. And they always look fun.

I think the technology is advancing and is available.

My ex-friend who happened to be chinese was so stupid that when he asked a bunch of us to go see a movie, he said meet up at this time.
I did, didn't see them, he wasn't answering his phone.
So i just bought a ticket to whatever movie was playing at that time.

Mr and Mrs Smith. Bitch shows up with friend says they already saw that movie and he fucked up.
I showed them my ticket and turned my back on them and continued to purchase the popcorn combo.

i really hate that kid :notgood: he could never get his plans straight. every movie was a disaster to plan.
i finally figured out that showing up stoned most of the time made things more bearable and somehow everyone functioned better :laugh:

I had fun watching the movie. But my anxiety always makes me feel like that people are staring at me and saying shit.

i let anxiety get the best of me and i'm half mad and half enjoying the movie.

i tend to laugh more than the average person in movies. i find lots of things enjoyable. new way to kill someone, new bad guy, a joke that either the good guy or bad guy makes, ironic situations, implied humor.

i don't think people who go to movies actually enjoy being there :erm: it never seems like anyone has a good time.

unless it's a comic super-hero movie.

At: The Avengers, X-Men 3 (weird, I know), X-Men 1,2, Batman Begins, Dark Knight, the whole audience was enthusiastic about the movie.

i don't think people who go to movies actually enjoy being there :erm: it never seems like anyone has a good time.

I'm not crazy about being in a movie theater. There are no really nice ones in the area and there are almost always teenagers talking and playing with their cell phones. I try not to go unless it's something I REALLY want to see, or someone bugs me to do with them. Feel like unless a movie has cool big screen visuals, theaters make a bad movie torture and a so-so movie a bad movie. Just nice to be able to pause and shoot the shit.

I love it when theaters go crazy over a movie, though. I saw Down to Earth in a theater in downtown Detroit and the theater went insane, clapping, laughing, stomping your feet, calling out fun stuff, making sure you noticed something awesome. I remembered it as being really funny and then I watched it on VHS and it was really mediocre. If more theaters were like that I'd like going to the movies more, for comedies and goofy horror films anyway.

People get enthusiastic about super hero movies here too. One of the reasons they're some of the only films I see in theaters.

Even with Cameron the studio didn't want to give them the budget unless they changed a bunch of stuff. I am sure even on a shoestring budget it'd be pretty awesome though, Del Toro is good at that. And Cameron is good at spending ridiculous amounts of money on movies and making it back anyways. :laugh:

A big part of the reason Avatar was so costly was all the tech that was developed for it (most of which has probably paid for itself without Avatar). I don't think sequels would have a huge budget. Though Cameron will probably find a way.

No. No Kuma, No panda, no Mokujin, no boxing Kangaroo, demon or Dinosaur. Just a tournament, where people fight to win a prize. Gary Daniels may have been a shitty Kenshiro, but he was rather good as Bryan Fury. I felt he was VERY underused in Expendables. you can just feel he was a last minute replacement for Vandamne back then. As for the rest of the movie, I really like it.

There would indeed be similitudes between the movies. IIRC, Mountains of Madness deals with a scientific expedition to the north (or south pole, haven't read it in the recent years) that discovers a hidden city of the Ancients (weird creatures that created life on earth, until one of their creations, Shoggoths, revolted and killed them all.). Can't remember anything else right now. I'll reread it soon and tell you what. :D

but there would definitely be similitudes. the premise is even more or less the same: guy makes an expedition, discovers some hidden, cyclopean ruins, find the origins of all life on earth, expedition get slaughtered by what they found, a few survivors escape. probably completely unhinged by then.

It's simple enough. I know in XP they just need to be in wav format. I changed everything in my XP to movie quotes. :laugh:

I've not tried in Win 7.

That's something that' be hard for me to test out.... the computer here inexplicably stopped making the folder clicks and stuff a while back.... Other sounds work like the bonk but........ just wav should be easy enough..... then comes the hard part of searching the internet for a sound board....

That is a game phenomenon, going on with the mission despite setbacks when actual protocol would be to reestablish communication with somebody. Especially if it's only 3 guys.
