Homecoming is very very very tangentially tied to Origins and 2. How tangentially? Alex's last name is the same as Mary's maiden name and Travis drops Alex off in Shepherd's Glen at the beginning of the game XD

In the real world it could almost be coincidence.
It's more tied to the movie. Which is easily watched if you haven't seen it. If you can find Homecoming on the cheap I definitely recommend it.

I love the movie, I want to buy it on blu-ray.
Already have Event Horizon on blu-ray.
Still need to House On Haunted Hill (first movie remake) and Pulse.
And maybe Phantoms.
Homecoming isn't a bad place to start at all. 2 is probably the only other one I'd recommend starting with (besides 1, obviously).
2 is very much focused on James as a character and what Silent Hill is to him. Homecoming and the movie touch on the cult that exists there and the movie introduces Dahlia and Alessa, who are central to what is basically the main SH story (as told in 0rigins, 1, and 3). Although the movie is an alternate universe-y affair.
Homecoming deals with the cult in a way that directly ties to Alex. 4 is steeped in SH lore, which is ironic, considering its history. I wouldn't even recommend playing Origins without playing 1, first, tbh.
So yeah, Homecoming or 2 are the way to go if you aren't going to tackle 1.

If I were Gaiman I'd want to be involved. 6 seasons on HBO is usually 60-80 episodes. That's A LOT for a book. It's a big book....but not that big. Which can only mean some major changes.........and it would be wrong not to involve Gaiman then.

Not seen it yet. It's asian, subtitled. From the director of A Tale of Two Sisters (2003), A Bittersweet Life (2005), and The Good, the Bad, the Weird (2008) if they are ones you've seen? All three are very different films so I have no idea what to expect from this one.

I watched the trailer for it and was quit taken by it!
I think I'll give it a go, it's been awhile since I've watched an Asian movie.
I think the last one I watched was............................................... .................................................. .................................
Red Cliff Parts 1&2, Hong Kong releases (at all costs, avoid the American condensed version; the American release is what Kill Bill would be like if they combined both parts and took out an hour or so).
And then a couple other war history movies.
But Asian horror, not for a long time.
Okay, not really horror, but more suspense-thriller-crime story.

Spoilery trailers are a curse. There should be a law against it.
I have the original Planet of the Apes on dvd and the cover art is the very end scene, you know, the big reveal.
I've seen the film a dozen times but if I hadn't I'd be  as hell.

I want to get the Hong Kong versions (most complete versions) of Red Cliff on blu-ray.
Superb movie!
I love Martyrs!
Neg, highly recommended.
Let it be the last movie you watch before going to sleep.
Let it be when you're almost tired and you pass out during the credits because you're too tired to get up and turn it off.
After I watched it, I woke up in the middle of the night thinking I heard some girl screaming down the hallway (I live in an apartment).
I lied in bed for 5 minutes waiting to hear another scream. If I didn't I'd go back to sleep.
If I did... I'd jump out the window and run down the streets screaming bloody murder!
I'm going to look up that A l'intereioiursoeiruao movie.
Also recommend an Asian horror-fest, "Three Extremes".
Three horror stories in one movie. I think they did 2 movies, so 6 stories.
The first movie has Dumplings, Box and Cut.

Sean Bean was really good. And so was Xenia Onnatop.
Why does the bloody tear dude in Casino Royale remind me so much of American Dad episode "Tear Jerker"???
And I didn't really like the main villain in QoS screaming like a girl near the end in the final fight, either.
I hope the next Bond villain will be someone of great... caliber?

He was in a few eps of Pushing Daisies and also Hancock.
Other than that, I don't know.
He was in Dark Mirror too.
Fun fact- even though his French accent sounds kinda goofy in Hancock, he's actually fluent in French and was born in Denmark. Think they probably just had him exaggerate it for the movie.
Haven't they all died yet? If you lived here you would hate them. They were everywhere all the time always.

Serbian Film is one I think I'll pass on. Watching sexual abuse of babies is too much for me.
It's sure not something that I would advocate either. I may have told you in PM how I feel about certain things other people find acceptable (?) but in a film context I try to view stuff as a part of the narrative. I love Takashi Miike but hate that he puts children in very awkward sexual scenes. I don't know why he does it, or what his beliefs are outside of cinema but I accept it as part of the story. If it wasn't fiction I wouldn't watch it.
I like to watch controversial film to see if it has any substance beneath the shock factor. Strangely, many of them do. People told me Baise Moi was this shocking unwatchable mess but I actually found it full of heartfelt direction and purpose.

Let's go tell the children.
---------- Post added at 07:29 PM ---------- Previous post was at 07:28 PM ----------
Victims List is from 4, Doc. That covers up to 4, iirc. This is the victims list (for Allen):
VICTIM FILES............................................. .........[SH4_20]
This section contains the Walter Sullivan Victim Files for the 21
Sacraments, originally found on Silent Hill 4's web site. Some of the
content has been edited and chaged to make more sense. These victim files
contain major spoilers about the plot of Silent Hill 4, and if you have
not beaten the game yet, I suggest you don't read this section.
Victim: 01/21 - Jimmy Stone
Occupation: Priest of Valtiel
Sex/Feature: Middle aged white male, muscular
Height/Weight: 190 cm, 85 kg
Hobby: Playing darts
Other: Nicknamed "Red Devil"
Theme of Murder: Ten hearts
Method of Murder: Shot in the back of the head with a gun
Murder Location: First floor in the Wish House in Silent Hill
Item Left Behind: Shred of scripture
Jimmy Stone created and became a priest of the Valtiel sect to
mediate between the Holy Mother sect and Saint Ladles sect. The
Valtiel sect is closer to the God and their ethics are to worship
Valtiel which also means acting as executioners. Jimmy was killed
with a gun and his body was found in Wish House which was managed
by the Holy Mother sect. Ironically, his right-hand man, George
Rosten's body was found in Wish House as well.
Victim: 02/21 - Bobby Randolph
Occupation: High School student
Sex/Feature: Husky black male (aged 18 at time of death 10 years ago)
Height/Weight: 180 cm, 140 kg
