I know for Gladiator they had to re-release it on bluray and do a better job of the transfer as many fans bought it and hated the first transfer.

Why do you hate it ? I find it a nice change of pace for the eternal slaughter that is my gaming life. Ok, back in the 96-97 Star Wars revival, ToysRus got in a TON of new SW toys (hope some of you can help me with this here). I remember VERY SPECIFICALLY an awesome thing I saw and always wanted but never got the chance to have it.

It was a storm trooper alarm clock. Now how I need you guys to picture this clock in the same vein as the electronic banks they produced like the Vader and droids electronic piggy banks.... (I know have the Vader bank... pretty sure I have the droid bank..... been in the closet for so long)

It was nearly the same height, had a storm trooper posed to shoot (normal storm trooper pose), the base was a digital clock, it featured an alarm clock that made blasting sounds to wake you up. Now the best part was that it came with a small mini-blaster for you, and when the alarm went off in the morning with the trooper 'blasting', you pick up the mini blaster and aim at the trooper which was the 'remote' to turn the alarm off.


Now ever since then, I have lamented not owning it, and for the life of me I CANNOT FIND ANY trace of thing online. Even in SW collectible catalogs, it's never listed that I can find. It's like the thing didn't exist! I know I have a horrible memory but I SWEAR this thing was real. And I still really want one :sad:

Does anyone know what I'm talking about???

I'm not a final fantasy kind of guy. I prefer Secret of Mana/Chrono Trigger as far as Japanese RPG go. But most of the time I stick to occidental stuff like Baldur's gate, Fallout, Diablo, etc, etc.

The last bad end I got in a game was actually kind of badass and didn't feel bad end-y at all.

The "worst" bad ending I've gotten is probably the one that only had one screen and music.

Silent Hill endings are pretty organic based on your actions and they do a good job of covering the spectrum of outcomes for each situation. Especially in 2. All of them are sad, but I guess because they are expected, they don't hurt as much as that one.

A few years back I was buying too many comics and had to cut some out because I was really broke. I stopped all Marvel and kept all DC.
Until 2 weeks ago I hadn't bought Marvel comic in years. There are a number of collected editions coming out here in hardback with a really great quality paper stock that makes even the older works look vibrant. I'll be selectively buying some of those as they come out. I'm not sure which are the ones to get though. :sad: No one to ask. So far I got Dark Phoenix saga and JMS' first arc of Spiderman.

The new Punisher is actually very good. It's just not really my thing. Feel bad about liking it more. It's supposed to be crossing over with Daredevil soon, so I'll probably start reading it again. Recommend checking it out, if you're not reading it already! I love Cap but there aren't any Cap related comics I'm enjoying right now. I will be reading Winter Soldier, though!

Me too! It looks really neat. If you click the link in the article to go to the Famitsu site, you can see some more backgrounds and stuff. It looks really pretty. I really hope it comes out here. There are so many amazing games in the works that haven't been confirmed for a US release yet. ; ; Atelier Meruru will be coming out here, but I've barely scratched the surface of Totori! Kind of wish they were waiting a little longer to release it.

Tactics is good but too slow for me. I is good, and so is V if you like job systems. IV is a solid game. Dissidia is alright. More fun for the novelty than a really solid fighter, imo.

That's one of the reasons I dislike western RPG's. They tend to focus on one character who learns everything (Fable, Elder Scrolls etc). If you end up hating that one guy, it makes the whole game suck.

I'd rather have a number of people I can switch in and out. If I hate someone I can keep them out and laugh at their puny attributes.

I'm afraid. I'm afraid because even is Bane is obviously portrayed as a smart guy, he is also portrayed as a nihilistic bastard with incredible leadership abilities, and enough craziness to rivalize with the Joker. which he isn't in the comic book. I don't remember him playing mass murderer in it. He is more a "I want to prove I'm the best at what I do." kid of guy, with an interest into giving payback to the guys who made a monster out of him. And he certainly isn't a leader. if anything, Bane is the archetype of the guy who works alone. again ,I've got iffy memories, haven't read a Batman TPB in ages.

Another tidbit that shows how dangerous Bane is

From Knightfall

Bane is a member of Secret Six, the best (and sadly canceled) team book in comics! He hasn't been a work alone guy in years and years. Bane also killed a crazyton of venom dealers during Infinite Crisis.

I would've preferred no Catwoman, since she's hard to get right and there was already a good Catwoman portrayal in Returns, but I can deal. I like Anne Hathaway, at least. I'm looking forward to

That could work if you put it this way. I wasn't aware of an involvement of the league of shadows. actually that could even explain the events of the second movie. After all, who knows if Ducard was indeed Ra's Al Ghuul ?

What I don't understand is the shot of Bruce Wayne in some sort of Prison. has Bane been powerful enough to conquer Gotham AND keep it from being retaken by the army, or is it just a move to hide something else ? As for his intelligence, I was aware of it. he's probably the biggest threat there can be for Batman: he's a formidable, if not better, fighter than the Bat, he has a keen, analytical mind, lots of academical knowledge (here again, maybe as much as Batman), and a strentgh of character that is not so different from Batman. all in all, the Ultimate Batman villain.

I guess I'll just have to wait and go see the movie when it is released. one of the few movie I'm waiting for. Along with Iron Sky and...sigh... GI joe Retaliation.

While playing Knights of the Old republic I imagined the rest of the guys doing other stuff. Like when I took Bastila & HK-47 to the Sand People place I figured Canderous, Zaalbar, & Mission would go out hunting those monster things. Actually, if you look at the first movie...It wasn't supposed to get a sequel. MacLeod fights Kurgan, Kurgan dies, Macleod is the last one, gains the prize, end of story.

but the producers weren't happy, cause there was more money to be made. so they decided to do Highlander 2. Problem. how to justify it ? how to bring in new immortals ? the rest is history (of awful movies).

then afterward they thought to make a NEW movie. Highlander 3, and at the same time they launch a tv show, all the while ignoring the end of the first movie (Kurgan wasn't the second to last immortal) and the second altogether. Can't blame them for that. all of a sudden there is a shitload of immortals. enough for 5 seasons of 23-26 eps each. at a ratio of two or three as said in the first movie, that makes a damn big population. then they introduce these new characters in the series, who become far more popular than the movie ones. SO in the fourth movie, they kill Connor so that they can get rid of the annoying guy that Chris Lambert was/is.

And then the fifth movie happened. likely for reasons similar to the second. moar monnies.

Ergo, 1 movie with a closed ending, and 4 sequels. while some with open endings don't even get a sequel, even if they're good.

They are unusual. The story is a bit of a mess sometimes but is inventive. Visually they are interesting if you like foreign films.
