I know people find excessive cut scenes to be aggravating, but just the occasional, well placed cut scene can make a really big impact.


I was watching this guy a few weeks ago and he said that for some people, cutscenes are the reward for playing the game well, while others find them to be a roadblock to continually playing the game. I'm the former, but you perverts already know that, 100x over.


I can appreciate both aspects, if they are done well. I adore the games that blend the two things seamlessly. Like Uncharted. You can't set the controller down to watch because the scene may end and you'll be in the shit. Great stuff.

If you've never seen the show you should start now from the beginning. I don't normally rave but I haven't gotten this pumped by and anime series since Paranoia Agent.
The series follows the interactions of assorted people living in the Ikkebukoro section of Tokyo, and follows their various hidden agendas. The primary fantastic element is Celty, the Headless Rider, who is actually an Irish spirit called a dullahan, but these days instead of collecting the souls of the dead she works as a black market courier and lives in an apartment with her mob doctor boyfriend.

There's more, but I'll leave you to find it on your own, or not.

I don't think there is a way to swing 'faster' really. I always sit in the bed when I play the game so it doesn't pick up my movements 'right' but even so I find flailing like a damn idiot works just fine. I haven't come across anything I couldn't beat with this method. The only thing I find difficult is doing an actual stab.

I don't think there is a way to swing 'faster' really. I always sit in the bed when I play the game so it doesn't pick up my movements 'right' but even so I find flailing like a damn idiot works just fine. I haven't come across anything I couldn't beat with this method. The only thing I find difficult is doing an actual stab.

Man, I don't know if this is a very good defense of the game's controls. :laugh: It sounds like it would be fun to watch someone play, though.

I like the SCAR/ACR hybrids the BSAA seem to have pretty much standard. I kinda hope they add in an Iron sight aiming mode (I know I sound like a broken record, but implement it like MGS4, with 3rd person aiming being default and 1st person activates when pressing another button while aiming).

What system were you playing on? Never had a problem doing 80 plus mph in traffic on bridges. Hated the handling of Bikes though.

Played on PS3. Friend played on xbox. The two versions were virtually identical. The only real difference I noticed was no slight pause on the bridge to load on PS3, and the cops were a lot more vicious for some reason.

Cars were fine when going over the bridge but cornering at high speed was impossible. I also missed taking corners at full speed on PCJ or NRG. A bike was my favourite mode of transport in previous games. I could get to where i wanted to go in record time zipping in and out of traffic. They fuckered that up for the sake of realism. :sad:


There was a lot of humor, unfortunately none of it was in the story.

The satire was still there in the signs and parts of the world but it was still too bleak for me. If I want to see bleak and realism I'll go outside.

Played on PS3. Friend played on xbox. The two versions were virtually identical. The only real difference I noticed was no slight pause on the bridge to load on PS3, and the cops were a lot more vicious for some reason.
