I added one on for you that doesn't pay quite as well but lets you do movie reviews! Thought it might be more up your alley. :) Easier to do work if you're more interested in, probably. I am surprisingly good at bullshitting about the standard topics most places want so I just stick to that.

And yeah, there is no way I'm walking 2+ miles in the cold more than a day or two a week. I am glad I don't have to be totally broke over it. I hope you can use some of them too. My apologies if too many of the links are American oriented.

No, it's not traffic I was after, thanks though. If I get any more traffic on the 7th I'll start to show up on too many radars. I have experienced the same feeling. only with Conan sequels. I mean, some of Carter and De Camp's stories are not halfbad, but the whole 50 or so other novels written by various authors are just a mess...

As a rule, I stick to what has the name of the author on it. Most of the time, pastiche are a waste of paper. Not always though. some Lovecraft pastiche are quite good, but moreso when they're taking some distance with HPL's works.

I discovered Poe and Lovecraft around the same time, in my school days. They are different but forever connected in my head.
Lovecraft opened up his world for all that followed, that was a brave thing to do and I'd guess is part of the reason it endures so well today.
All the new stuff points people to the source and they find that it is way better. :D

No, it's not traffic I was after, thanks though. If I get any more traffic on the 7th I'll start to show up on too many radars. I am pretty chill about bugs when they're out in the wild. Unless they get in my hair. I do get weird around bees, but I have a sibling that's deathly allergic and I think that's influenced me.

I do have one bug related phobia that can be pretty severe but it shouldn't be an issue in tunnels. It is pretty easy to avoid.

I'm making cupcakes because I'm going crazy, guys! I'll take pictures if they look nice when they're done. The icing didn't turn out as thick as I'd like but it's thick enough to frost with and I don't want to add more sugar. I don't know how else to thicken it except for corn starch, and I don't have any.

Discovered Lovecraft in highschool, and Poe a little after, through an old and dusty book found in an english second hand bookshop. I'm not really able to explain why I like lovecraft's tales...It has something to do with the unease caused by his stories and themes, the difficulty to differentiate reality from illusion, sanity from madness, and also this feeling of "ancient" evil that transpires from most of his works.

I think to remember also of a short story by Aldiss in Lovecraft's world...I'll go check my books.

I think Poe was the better writer. His short story form is a master class in how to compose.
His poetry brings me to my knees. The rhyme schemes he attempted are madness. I used to need to read them aloud to find the correct meter.

Turned out the RPGists were innocents, the tombs had been disturbed by a bunch of dumb fuck neo nazis. But it gave enough of a bad name to RPGs at the time. :notgood:

I actually thought about scripting a found footage movie recently! I've been writing lots of comics and short stories lately, I miss writing scripts. Shockingly, it involves investigating a tunnel. It plays with the 5 and 1/2 minute hallways thing because I'm really focused on that as well. Incidentally, that track is going on 10 Song vol. 2.

I tried to make a "found footage" video short back in high school.

i had a lot of ideas going on. it was going to focus on some occult group. starting with an interview of a "witness" to the events.
that's as far as I got.
Most of it was going to emphasis on the delivery of the story. I would've had fun with that part. Writing out the creepish events.

Couldn't figure out the rest without thinking of the budget.
Even just doing the cultsy, satanic stuff would still cost a bit.
mostly just for the actors and some cheap props, a place to film, setup and scheduling, it got messy.

I decided to do a shorter video, starting with a phone call and centralizing it to one house.

Then I got carried away with the script :laugh: Didn't want the other end of the phone audible so it'd just be her repeating what he says or answering in a way that makes us guess what was asked with some accuracy.

It'd have been a nightmare for anyone to memorize the script :laugh:

I wanted that to be a prelude to the secret cult interview thing. :laugh:

we never liked soddering jobs, never could trust anyone to do a good job. (heard so many people getting shyte after 6 months of playing).
we used the swap disc method. the brick one was better for that as well.
the slim version you needed to install a spring and a sticker.
but we just used the sticker and put another game case on top. usually FF7 or something else with 4 discs.
Saves from opening the machine and voiding the warranty!

Highly recommend Franks originals but only if you have the time to get really involved with them. Will take a while to get through all 6.

He did a novel called Godmakers which was very like parts of Dune. You can guess which parts from the title. :D

As for the goths wondering how jewish people would react, I have a funny anecdote about that. Back in 2007, during my semester in Germany, there were a few Japanese students. One of the girls came to the "faces of evil in the 19th century literature" course clothed in full SS uniform.

The faces of the other students/teachers/people in the streets were...quite entertaining. Even funnier was me trying to explain in english to the poor and rather upset girl that was getting insulted by everybody (in at least 3 languages) in the street that she had made a mistake of biblical proportions an d should go home and change.

Why was it called PSx? What was the "x". It was just PS over here, and then when PS2 came out it got called PS1.
