I didn't realize you hadn't watched it yet, or I wouldn't have put stuff about it under the spoiler. Doesn't really matter at this point, though.

I am trying to keep my expectations lowered with Fourze stuff but I really did think the fight by the water was going to be nice, until it wasn't.

I am pretty sure I can see where they're going for the last two episodes and I am not particularly excited about it. Kind of makes me mad, actually.

I'm pretty sure they're going to have Kengo die/become a switch to save everybody but then somehow come back in the last episode. Probably because of the ~power of friendship~ Feels cheap and unearned, and the slight similarity to W makes me rage because that was PERFECTLY executed.

I really did think I'd still be able to like Gentaro and Kengo, because I don't feel like they messed with their characters, but it's just hard to care about them now. Crazy how the show depended so heavily on one thing, and how everything diminishes when that stops working.

I think season one and 2 were made available as DVD here too, but the one I grew up with (Kung FU: THe Legend Continues, that I really enjoyed as a kid) hasn't been released. There's so many TV show that defined my childhood that have never been released over here: Viper, KF:TLC, Highlander, Poltergeist (early teens that one, I preferred it to X-files), Earth: Final Conflict, and a few others.

Never saw Babylon 5 up until two years ago because it was only aired on a crypted channel, Canal+.

As for Star Trek...It was never aired on TV. never.

THQ probably won't live that long more than likely. They had to give up their UFC license and that was one of their consistently popular lines. The only thing they got left is Saints Row.

Lots of places are going under. Or getting bought over.

Sleeping Dogs looks okay. It was originally True Crime III but the devs gave up on it, so it was finished by Square Enix.

I read it was because of the way the PS3 handles graphics. It allocates half the RAM to it and half to SR.
The devs didn't take that into account so it eats up too much of the RAM and the machine shits the bed.
There was talk of a patch but it may have been fan-boy wishful thinking. I'll do some research before I buy or rent it.

It depends...

There's actually two ways of doing of this...

DVD-Video with audio.
DVD-Audio.

DVD-Audio is not so compatible with most players.
And requires a lot of software. There's freeware that's been worked out.
Damned if I ever used it.
And then there's commercial software.
Damned if I ever needed it.

DVD-Video with just audio (blank screen) is probably what you need.
The audio formats available are: AC3@448 (maximum, 640 not compatible) in 2.0/MPEG2@shit in 2.0/(L)PCM@lossless in 2.0
PCM will give you the same CD quality, no loss.

!HOWEVER! At any rate, the audio will be converted to DVD compliance of 48kHz for the sample rate.
CD's have a sample rate of 44.1kHz.
So you'll be upscaling the sample rate.
It won't do anything to the audio.

I would go for PCM, if your machines can handle it.
Digital connection from the DVD/BD machine to the stereo/amp/receiver.
For DVD, it's either coaxial, toslink (optical) or some other form of sorcery.

IV is the one I liked least of the 3D ones.

It's huge. It took me months to mop up all the little things.

I even went on the hunt and found the half-finished stuff they removed. It's accessible through a hole in the gym roof. It's mostly interiors that were cut out.

Yup. If it's hard because it's cheap, it's irritating. You can't even work to get better that way. I don't mind difficult games as long as it becomes easier with practice. Unless it's not fun to practice, but that's a whole new problem.

This is mostly an MMO thing but I hate things that are only hard because they're really time consuming. IE, this item you need to progress is dropped by monsters of a much higher level than you and only drops 1 out of 50 times, that sort of thing. Feels like such a waste.

:bearclap: I used to walk along one of the walking trails here that can take me up to one of the largest parks here.
It was a nice walk along the False Creek. Lots of benches to sit on, water to stare at, wind in your hair and if you go during the summer, you can watch all sorts of bodies walk by.

The women are easy. if I actually worked out, I could probably knock one over the head, drag her back to my cave and be done with her.
I look like I work out. Blind luck on what shirts I buy.
And I don't walk with a slouch like most people.
So women are suckers for that when they're jogging/cycling by.

I like when something seems hard but is only a question of method. In baldur's gate 2, there's an optional quest which involves fighting a demon. Each time you hit the demon, you get dealt the same damages. pretty infuriating. unless you took a few seconds before the fight to reread the dialogs. which more or less point that casting a simple health spell on said demon will deal him an automatic death blow.

I like when something seems hard but is only a question of method. In baldur's gate 2, there's an optional quest which involves fighting a demon. Each time you hit the demon, you get dealt the same damages. pretty infuriating. unless you took a few seconds before the fight to reread the dialogs. which more or less point that casting a simple health spell on said demon will deal him an automatic death blow.

Yes, I really like stuff like this too! There are parts of games that drove me crazy, and wound up making me laugh out loud when I realized how easy it was. Worth the frustration when you figure it out. This happens to me a lot with puzzles. I'll imagine some ridiculous, complex solutions and it turns out to be the most obvious thing in the world.

Yup. If it's hard because it's cheap, it's irritating. You can't even work to get better that way. I don't mind difficult games as long as it becomes easier with practice. Unless it's not fun to practice, but that's a whole new problem.

Everything in CoD is scripted so I found it very easy, even on Veteran. I still know every enemy placement on the original and United Offensive. The new ones are even easier because the snap aiming does all the work for you.

Steam itself is free. DL it and you get some games for free right off the bat. Although I doubt you would dig Team Fortress 2, but still. I'll send you The Ship if you do. It's an FPS, but not like the others. It's very methodical since the whole point is to murder your target out of sight of other passengers and cameras which you can do with tons of weapons that actually aren't guns most of the time. Very cool, wish more people played it. There's a single player to practice on.

With Expendables 2, I kinda wish Van Damme and Scott Adkins' characters had been consolidated into one main baddie for more impact. (It's like, if all the evil evilness had just been Van Damme it could have been....double the impact. (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j4kKRasdKMI) Heh. HEH.) The only things I really really hated are when they started getting super heavy with the catch phrases and such during the climax (I understand fan-service and winking at the audience is kind of the whole point of these flicks but line after line felt like overkill to me) and fucking Chuck Norris. Fuck that guy. I also could have used some more Jet Li. It was aight otherwise. I enjoyed the effort to make more use of the entire team. I wonder if there might be an extended cut looming for this one. The director's cut of the first one was an improvement imo.

Cheapo controllers are really hit or miss and price doesn't seem to have much to do with how good they are. My ex had some 360 style controller for the PS3 that was almost as much as a PS3 controller and it was awful. And I've used cheap tiny ones that I loved.

I bought an off brand xbox controller once. It worked fine for a day and then you couldn't turn left with the joystick. We made a friend use it to handicap him while playing LAN so he wouldn't kick our asses so hard. He still won by getting really good at turning right 720 degrees.

Madcatz controllers were dangerous back in their time.

I remember buying one for the PSx and it screwed up the circuitry to allow only Madcatz controllers to work.
The E/B clerk told me. He was a nice chap, back before E/B hired only cunts.

You should get yourself an Mini SD-HC card. HC for High Capacity.
Win7 can use it, about the only OS that can.
Damned if Vista knew what to do with it.

I got a 4gb SD-HC in my Win7 laptop and set the Properties to use as a cache device.
"Ready Boost" I think is the feature/service.
It will store some common system files (copy them, not move them) to the SDHC to serve as an extension of the memory cards.

There's another option if you have a USB stick you're not ever going to not use.
eBoostr is quite handy. (I can hook you up)
It can set a portion of your RAM to keep system files on their for quicker access.
You can set priorities to certain programs, set size-limits (so it doesn't cache an entire video file or .rar file), set file-type exclusions (by "ask": *.mp3, *.avi, *.rar) or by filepath.
It will scan your devices and give you recommendations of what you should use and how it can improve.
Allocate your existing RAM as the program suggests and raise the cache size the highest you can by staying in the green zone.
You'll have to check it every few days.
It keeps statistics of what you do, what you use and all that in order to help improve your RAM usage.
I've had it installed for a week now and just finally optimized it.
Had to add lots of exclusions to the list. Had to keep "build the cache files now" in order to see any new stuff it added that can be removed.

A bit surprising that it's large for a short film.
