Some have gone obsolete since then. No CD releases ever....except maybe b-sides on rare singles.

Indeed. it has a lovecraftian quality to it. kinda "unspeakable" in a way. plus if it evokes a primal fear in Doc, it's probably related to the mythos. Mythos entities are supposed to evoke primal fear in people.

It also means Doc is highly intelligent, as per the rules of Call of Cthulhu, idiots have a lot less chances to feel those primal fears. The more intelligent you are, the faster you lose your sanity points.

Yesterday I fell asleep reading a book of short stories. I thought I'd finished the third story and grabbed my Kindle to read the next one only to see I was only halfway through it. Must have dreamed the rest of it! If it'd been a book proper I never would have even realized ; ;

I fell asleep while reading, but then I dreamed a bunch of us met up in Paris and then I tried asking something at an information booth, but the guy only understood Japanese. Then it wasn't an info booth at all, but a check in for someone's party and you could only get in if you filled out a form with what you knew about the guy. It was also in Japanese, but with the English alphabet.

I prefer a little backstory with what's going on. Like the daughter who fucks her mother's boyfriend just to prove what a jerk he is to the mother, but he fucks her so good she deletes the evidence, to no avail though as the mother saw the actual act anyway.

I like the first one. A lot. The BD transfer is so meh. Looks identical to the DVD.
Even the audio is basically the same as the DVD.

I'm pretty sure the first thing I ever saw her in was Say Anything, even if I read her name as Lily Tomlin. She was good on the X-Files (which Lily Tomlin guested on too).

I don't remember a lot of onscreen torture porn in the first one to be honest.

There's the finale and a few flashes that indicate it.

I seem to recall it's mostly atmosphere, hints of torture and setting that really makes it as violent as it seems.
