How are the NIN mixes coming along?

i'm slowly working on Capital G.........i've been adding in my own piano and ambience to it.

it's probably going to appear on my next compilation, which is well under ways. i've been wanting to send out some previews of some of the "soundscapes" i've been doing, because some of them are pretty fun. The Hitchcock one is particularly "devilish". I've been wanting to rework that track with Stan Lee and Jack Kirby that was on one of the mixes Tom threw our way, but it might have to wait for the third & final comp in the collection. I just can't find any songs to "frame" it with.

I think you know Year Zero was my least favourite album but I'd love to hear it when you get it finished so please let me know when you're ready to share. :)
Soundscapes are something I enjoy; I would put Tribes of Neurot in that category and I love their stuff.

Capitol G was the easiest beat to toy with at the moment. I've never really remixed anything before so I figured that'd be a good song to start with. Who knows? it might not even be the song I actually use for the mix. If I like the final mix enough and feel practiced enough, I'll try at another NIN song.

I'm also toying around with Kenji Kawai's "9 Sisters" by adding in some samples from Beltrami's "Trouble In Woodsboro", Hemsey's "Mind Heist", Elfman's "Nightbreed End Titles" and some of my own additions.

I like mixes that give the song a diferent feeling, like that Butch Vig remix of Last.

I don't have that Kenji song. I have a lot of his stuff bit not the Avalon album. :(

I've never heard the Vig remix of "Last" is it...um....grungier?

It's very reminiscent of Samurai Jack just with higher levels of detail and stylized as a medieval book illustration. It was nice to have authentic voice accents and not have every damn scotsmen you can round up to play vikings like in How to train your dragon. Generally now a days movies with Christan themes or characters fall into 3 groups, the preachy feel good Jesus love ones, the church is evil and everything they've done is bad ones, & the quasi non denominational ones that skip over any and all of the topics and give a generic moral in a kinda Jesus way. Well this movie isn't any of those. The church and religion isn't shown as being corrupt and the father isn't a bad man but neither is he the wise infallible leader. The pagan stuff isn't depicted as a force of evil but of nature while also not having the hole the fairies must sacrifice themselves to prove they're not evil that most of these things do. I guess what I'm trying to say it the movie is genuine and while the settings and drive of the characters is very Christan, it's not forced and is used as a natural tool for the main story.

Remember it's not as powerful in the cube as it is on PS2, I tried blowing a regnerator's leg off like in the KIng Laffo vid and it didn't work. Still the best pistol even if it's not as fast as whatever they called the advanced 9mm which had 35 rounds. Power is more important than # of bullets it holds or how fast they shoot out. Half the time I think if you rapid fire shots they don't register as damage if the guys are stunned enough.

Conan the Barbarian is a 1982 action/adventure fantasy film by director John Milius and is recognized as the acting breakthrough of Arnold Schwarzenegger, who had previously been a famous bodybuilder.

The film is loosely based on the Conan the Barbarian stories by Robert E. Howard and was written by Oliver Stone and John Milius, set in the mythical Hyborian Age. It was followed in 1984 by a lighter, but less successful sequel, Conan the Destroyer. Both Conan the Barbarian and its sequel are sword and sorcery epic tales that include magic, mythical creatures, and fantastical events.
Plot
The film is set during the prehistoric Hyborian Age. As a young Cimmerian boy, Conan is instructed by his father (William Smith) on the importance of steel to their people and its relationship with their god, Crom. Soon after, a group of Viking-like warriors led by Thulsa Doom (James Earl Jones) systematically destroys Conan's village. Thulsa Doom's lieutenant, Thorgrim, whacks the villagers with his hammer, their dogs kill Conan's father and Rexor, another lieutenant of Doom's, steals the sword of Conan's father. Conan's mother is beheaded by Thulsa Doom in front of Conan with the sword Rexor stole. They sell the children into slavery after the village is rampaged.

Having been forced to push The Wheel of Pain (a possibly metaphorical human-powered mill) for years, a now-adult and extremely muscular Conan (Arnold Schwarzenegger) is trained as a swordsman and then freed by his masters. Conan meets two thieves: Subotai (Gerry Lopez), a Hyrkanian archer; and Valeria (Sandahl Bergman), who becomes his lover. The three break into a fortified temple used by a doomsday cult to steal a large jewel called "The Eye of the Serpent" and Conan discovers that this cult is associated with the warriors who destroyed his village and their leader, Thulsa Doom.

The three become drunk in celebrating their newfound wealth and are captured by soldiers of King Osric of Ophir (Max von Sydow). He offers them a fortune to return his daughter (Val�rie Quennessen), who has been seduced into joining the cult and, he fears, may be charged with assassinating him. Motivated by his hatred for Doom, Conan leaves Subotai and Valeria (who wish to decline the offer) to Set's Mountain of Power.

Arriving at the Mountain of Power, Conan attempts to disguise himself as a priest, but a suspicious guard instead brings him to Thulsa Doom. Conan is beaten by Rexor and Thorgrim, and Thulsa Doom demonstrates the power of flesh by making a young girl jump to her death. Doom orders that Conan be crucified in the desert on the Tree of Woe to contemplate what he has heard. When Valeria and Subotai find him, they take him to a haunted Stonehenge-like cemetery called the Mounds and ask Akiro (Mako), the wizard who resides there, to revive Conan. He agrees, but explains that the demons who power the magic involved will "extract a heavy toll", though he does not explain what it may be.

With Conan revived, the three enter the Mountain of Power through a gorge that Akiro told Subotai about. They witness, among other things, a cannibalistic feast by its members and Thulsa Doom's transformation into a giant snake. They wreck the harem with brute force and disrupt the cannibalistic orgy. After they grab the princess, Doom shoots Valeria with a poison arrow and she dies in Conan's arms. He cremates her at the Mounds after taking the Eye of the Serpent from her corpse. He then prepares for battle with Thulsa Doom's army.

Thulsa Doom and his lieutenants lead an army of "Vanir" riders to recover Osric's daughter. Conan and Subotai however defeat Thulsa Doom's lieutenants one by one. Thorgrim is defeated by a clever trap and Rexor is defeated by Conan, who is assisted by Valeria's spirit. After the battle, Conan recovers his father's sword from Rexor, with its blade broken in the battle. Seeing all is lost in battle, Thulsa Doom attempts to kill the princess. However, Subotai blocks the snake arrow and Thulsa Doom flees. The princess finally returns to her senses at last.

Thulsa Doom is seen at the Mountain of Power to his followers on the gleam of the eye of Set with their torches. The princess helps Conan infiltrate the mountain. Thulsa Doom attempts to mesmerize Conan. However Conan is too strong willed and using his father's broken sword, beheads Thulsa Doom and tosses the head to the audience and the headless corpse falls down. Conan then drops the broken remnant of his father's sword. The audience throw their torches into the water and Conan throws a torch into the temple, burning it. Conan then brings the princess back home.

The film's epilogue shows an aged Conan sitting upon a throne, crowned as King.

Never bothered with "skyline", I admit i was interested at first, but you can only hear so much bad shit about it, until you actually start believing it. I'll wait a couple of years to watch it when it's long forgotten....i might enjoy it then.

"Sucker Punch" i predict it going to get absolutely trashed by the critics and "i only like originality" snobs, but will probably have a huge cult-fan following.

...and Monsters? it's come and gone :( you guys got in June.....we got it over here in October. Heard it was a pleasant surprise though. I will definitely be seeking this one out....hopefully it will show up in the cheap theater down the street soon.

Yes I actually already saw those somewhere else. I should do facebook more but it's vexed me so. I went on to try and find some people and so far I haven't found anyone. Plus it's layout is really dumb, myspace works way better. You've got one page with links to your sub folders and that was it. no extra pages that are semi hidden or the fact that they change the layouts every now and then but don't switch the older accounts to the newer style so everyone's stuff is all over the place.

There are actually direct downloads at that link too, if you scroll down past the torrent! Some of them are even non-megaupload links, though sadly most of them to be megaupload links once you get further along in the series. Nothing against Megaupload, can just take a while to download an entire series that way. ; ; But anyways, you should be pretty good when you go to get Kuuga. :)

Oh! I wanted to mention this too- TV-Nihon retranslated the first....15 episodes of 555, I think? And those translations are made from the DVD rips, so higher quality video, and the translation quality is also much better. Not sure if those ones are in the torrent you're getting or not, so you might want to check.

Oh cool :) I can live with MegaUpload when the files don't stall out. I can live with constantly starting downloads, too, especially for Kuuga, which isn't readily available.

A few files were too big, and I had to split them to upload. I actually made them into multiple avis rather than use HJ Split, so they should be 100% Mac safe. I picked good stopping points in between each one, so they should play fine as they are, but if anyone would prefer the whole episodes, let me know, and I will throw them up on the file hosting site of your choice! I also compressed two episodes that were just over the file limit into rars.

Some other notes:

- watch the TV special after episode 35

- watch the movie after episode 41

- watch the Hyper Battle Video after the series. It's an rmvb and not an avi, which means some of you might have trouble playing it, but it's more a goofy extra thing than anything important to the series.

- Mediafire lets you download multiple files at once, so you should be able to get this really quickly.

Please let me know if there are any problems! ^__^ And let me know what Kamen Rider stuff you guys might like in the future! I've been digging up my data discs, so I now have all Heisei era series (except Kuuga, but that will change soon) on this computer, as well as most of Black, all of Amazon, and a little of a bunch of other Showa era series, including Stronger, Skyrider, and Super-1.
