I was wondering early today about the possibility of a Justice League movie without Batman. It seems crazy, but Marvel made an Avengers movie without Spidey or Wolverine work. Of course, the only reason they made it without Spidey and Wolverine is that they didn't have the rights. I'm sure Warner Bros will find a way to work Batman in, even if it means an immediate Batman reboot.

Would be cool if they used Dickbat. I know everybody knows Bruce Wayne, but really, I think DC and Warner Bros overestimate the importance of going with the most known identity. As long as it was a good movie that had Batman in it, I really don't think people would care.

Still wish they'd made Green Lantern with anyone but Hal. John Stewart probably had better recognition with the target audience anyway. :laugh:

Spidey has been seen for decades as an amateurish hero by Cap, and Wolverine is nearly just as bad as the Punisher in his way of dealing with bad guys.

As for Justice league...Ahem. DC heroes have a big problem: they're too colourful. They'd have to do a loooooot of work just to create designs not to be laughed at for Wonder Woman, Martian Manhunter and others. creating a story without previously made movies to install the character or conflicting with said movies would be a bitch. and why would they unite ? Because supes asked kindly ?

Naah. if there's one thing I don't believe in, it's Justice League: the movie. Just bring on Avengers 2 already, I want to see Thanos.

It's hard to explain, in a way. The set up for the State was good, just like the rest. Ryuusei talking to Kengo was good. Kengo in the other club was good.

The exchange with them apologizing was great, though. It was just like the play for Orion. That was laid on too thick, but then Gentaro played it perfect once he opened up. Maybe that's the point, though. Try too hard, and then when the time is right, he does it perfectly.

I absolutely think that's a running theme in Fourze. You can see that sort of think from Gentaro in a lot of arcs, even the ones that don't involve plays and Gentaro trying to get people to take a dose of him. :laugh: It's something I really like in action oriented stuff, like the hero struggling to master a move and then executing it perfectly when he absolutely has to, and I think it's pretty cool to see it applied to relationships with other people. Though Fourze uses that trope in some action scenes too!

Type-O got a Japan only release, I think. I heard it wasn't very good, except from this one person who spams posts with photo collages about how amazing it was across the internet. Even on the internet, where people are much more likely to have some interest in comics, hardly anyone cared about the lack of Pym and Wasp, and no one was complaining about the inclusion of Black Widow or that Hawkeye was being made a founding member. I would go so far to say that most people who saw The Avengers and Marvel's other comic movies hadn't even heard of the majority of these characters until Marvel's films introduced them. I don't mean that they hadn't heard of Pepper Potts or Maria Hill, I mean the actual, main characters like Iron Man and Thor/Loki as comic book characters weren't widely known. I have probably been asked "who was that red guy" a thousand times since The Avengers came out. ; ;

The company's biggest characters are Spider-Man and Wolverine. I would say X-Men as a property had better name recognition than The Avengers for years. If they'd had the rights to the characters they definitely would've used Spidey at the very least, but they didn't. And instead, they made a movie with mostly lesser known characters work thanks to excellent build-up and a very capable writer/director. I think if DC had that level of build-up- ie, a breakout movie with a lesser known character, years of fairly well received movies with other characters continuing the build-up- and then a high quality movie from someone who's gifted at working with ensembles, a Justice League movie would work without Batman. I love Batman in the League, but because he's really a street level hero he's often pretty problematic there, and there have been quite a few League iterations without him. But since Warner Bros. has the rights to the character, that would never happen.

I don't think costumes will be a big obstacle, since characters are redesigned for movies anyway, (though the GL designs were pretty bad, so maybe WB has limited contact with good costume designers :laugh:) and I sadly wouldn't even expect Martian Manhunter to be in a JL film if they do make one. They'd probably go with the current continuity's founding line-up. The problem is that they need to create that level of build-up, need to create a cohesive universe, and need to find someone on par with Whedon to write and direct their final film.

Batman Beyond building into Justice League Beyond would be awesome and I'd love to see them test the waters there. I feel like the futuristic, cyberpunk vibe for a superhero story might help make any movie feel like less of an Avengers clone. It would still come with a massive amount of challenges and would be very hard to make work, but part of what made The Avengers so satisfying is that is was really hard to pull off, and they did it anyway. Plus, I have a hard time being objective about what would be an awesome movie for me and what would be an awesome movie for people in general, so I am not the person who should be judging whether or not this is a good idea. ;) I WOULD SETTLE FOR A JLB CARTOON, POWERS THAT BE!

I appreciate their efforts to diversify, but yeah they must realize how they have driven their brand into the ground. I can't fault them for trying to bring in new players, but come on guys, look at your old notes and refresh on how to make decent games. To be honest, as a foreigner (IE a non american guy), it seems easier to me to sell the X-men concept to a global audience than the Avengers. first...there have been 2 Xmen cartoons that were successful wherever they were aired, even if the second one wasn't made up until after Singer's X men. Then, the Avengers have always had the little problem of being literally marvel's team america...led by Captain America. Of course, there's the occasional Russian femme fatale, but If I remember, the only frenchman to make regular appearances in the Avenger comics was Batroc. a villain. cool :notgood:

What I mean is that it's easier to export an openly multicultural team like the X men (even if it's a lot less evident in the movies) than a team composed of one american supersoldier, one american billionaire, one american hulk, one american green arrow wannabe, one russian femme fatale who works for a US agency, and one extraterrestrial being who, when he was cast down on earth, conveniently fell in the US.

As for the Justice League...Without Batman AND superman, I don't really see who could be a big lead. or it gets picked up by one of the comps that has the rights to one of these. Either way, it'll mean a fifth batman or a fourth superman, while we only have seen (and by that I mean most of the audience, if we ignore old turds) one Captain America, one Iron Man, one black widow, one Hawkeye, one Thor, and, I'll admit, 3 hulks. but most people forcefully blacked out ang lee's hulk, so that makes really only two.

They could just make it Ryan Reynolds, I guess, but it would mean losing some of the book's best moments. They have stuff like Batman Inc. too, but I think that's too weird for live-action.

Concerning Green Lantern, this movie had the worst plot I've seen in a long time. They should have just killed the whole lantern corps, go 100% with evil Sinestro and Bazinga! as Sparky would say. Instead of that, we get one of the worst shitfest in the recent superhero moviedom.

Concerning Django, I'm going to make myself clearer: I didn't like inglourious basterds for a multitude of reasons, (the cast wasn't that great, the story is inane, and I have doubts the US army would have sanctionned that kind of psychopathic operation. that and the anachronisms.).

For Django...I have one big problem.

I really can't recommend watching the OOO part. It's got spoilers for the show's endgame. Plus, for me, it was show caliber, not Wonderful caliber. I.e., it was bad and it made my head hurt.

Not sure if you'd want to watch the Fourze part, either. I could get you time stamps for their scene in the middle and their showcase fight.

I had reservations at first. I was stoned. It's more of a sober/drunk movie.
The story build-up really adds to the last half.

They should've thrown that dialog into the soundtrack.

It serves a greater track for an OST than Tron Legacy ever did.

"Then I got in!" which was nice. But... eh. The instrumental version is 100000000000000000000000000x better.

I liked the character moments in Avengers. The opening was shit, and the end battle was boring.
